Do you have a link proving what you said about single parents?

Isn't it just because there are more single mothers than there are single fathers?

Pregnancy isn't "simple" actually. What a mother does while her child is in the womb will have a serious effect on the child's life.

If I could lend my voice here, I believe the way men are depicted in video games isn't seen as being as serious as how women are depicted in video games because stereotypically men base their opinions of women on the way that they look, while women base their opinons of men on the way that they act.

No, I see hate coming from all angled, but most of it still comes from men. Granted most hatred and violence in general is from men towards other men.

Are you saying men should have a leadership role? If so, why?

You some how blame all women for that? This is why this subreddit doesn't have much credibility to begin with. People upvote ignorance.

The fact of the matter is that generally people like to be around women more than men at parties and events like this. If there are more men than women then people won't be happy. If there are more women than men, or even an equal number, people are more happy.

I really think you're a troll that's out to make men's rights activists look stupid, but I'll explain anyway. The surrogate woman carries the child in her body for nine months. Therefore the woman's personal choices about how well she takes care of her body for those 9 months has a direct affect on the initial health and development of the baby. The sperm donor man ejaculates into a cup and his specimen is frozen. He is paid by the clinic and leaves. If a woman finds his sperm good enough she wi…

I've seen far more men that hate women than the other way around. Militant feminists are obscure.

No one claimed the baby has to grow up with the mother, but the fact is that it needs a female incubator/egg donor just like it needs a male sperm donor. It's obvious that the female is more important during that stage than the male.

And what exactly is this "evil" premise of feminism, in a sentence?

Aren't men's rights activists supposed to be about not restricting men to some defined role?

Oh I know what he meant, I just find it hypocritical and false. Feminists are no more misandrists than men's rights activists are misyogynists. You have crazies in each group, but it isn't how they are defined.

I think you're confusing misandrists with feminists.

That's pretty bigoted of you. I can't really call myself a feminist or an mra, but I've seen good and bad on both sides.

Children can be born without women? I've never heard of that. What is it called? Also, it takes away from your credibility when you generalize women in such an untrue and negative way.

Frankly you're the one that's exhibited all those fallacies, not me. But this conversation has pretty much run it's course. You're a homophobe.

I don't see anything wrong with parents being feminists (any more than I see something wrong with parents being MRAs) and I don't understand why you'd even say that. :/ Maybe you were joking. If not then I find it highly ironic that you claim to be for equality, yet don't think feminists are fit parents.

How are mothers not more important during pregnancy and breastfeeding? If a father drinks during pregnancy it has no direct affect on the baby, not so for the mother. As far as your "women are whores" comment, I don't follow. Are stay at home dads whores too, or just women?

To say that a child needs a "father" is homophobic. A child needs a sperm donor. It is also homophobic to say a child needs a "mother", beause in reality what it needs is an egg donor and incubator. Gay couples are capable of raising children.

I never said fathers weren't important, they obviously are, but the glaringly obvious fact is that when a woman is pregnant she is more important to the baby than the man is. I'm having a hard time grasping why you don't understand this. Also, I never once said that women are OVERALL more important, only that they are more important during infancy. Please quote where I said otherwise.

I didn't say that. I actually think two well adjusted gay men can raise a child just as well as two well adjusted lesbians or a good heterosexual couple. But the fact of the matter is that men can't have babies and you don't breastfeed. What the surrogate does to her body during pregnancy is more important to the baby than what the two gay fathers are doing at that time. It isn't hard to understand. I'd appreciate it if you simply linked me to an article. You made the claims, now stand behind th…

Can you prove that fact with some type of scientific data? Thanks.
/r/MensRights09/06/12 03:52 PM

Well I suppose I don't agree with the "duluth model". Everyone has the right to withhold sex for any reason whatsoever and to think of that as abuse is pretty insane. Where is this "science" that shows fathers are more important than mothers in later child development? Also, what proof do you have that lesbian and/or gay couples can't raise children as well as heterosexual couples? I need scientific data and citations for these claims.
/r/MensRights09/06/12 03:45 PM

That's pretty homophobic. As an MRA shouldn't you stand for equality?
/r/MensRights09/06/12 03:41 PM

How do you justify the father being more important in the later years? I see it as being equal. Also, I really don't know how important it is to have a father at all. What about lesbian couples? Are you saying they can't raise a well adjusted child without a man? Two gay men can raise a child just fine, but they still need a surrogate mother and the way she treats her body while pregnant is very important. There's no way to get around it. We carry the children so ultimately we are more important…

But wait, if she's 100% responsible for getting pregnant then doesn't that mean it's 100% her baby when she has it? Can't have it both ways, fellas.

I agree with most of that, but a couple of points I found suspect. For one, if we drop the political correctness we can all agree that at the start of a child's life the mother is more important than the father. When she is pregnant she has to take care of herself... the right nutrition, the right mental health/stress levels, no smoking, no drinking. Men don't have to worry about any of that. And the first person the baby bonds with is the mother, usually. Not to mention breastfeeding comes from…

Who exactly is the collective "they" you're speaking of? Surely you don't mean women. That generalization would be just as wrong as generalizing men.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
