Most guys will disqualify themselves from going after the absolute hottest girl in the group, especially when her (less attractive) friends are going above and beyond to get noticed/make themselves available. It's a little counterintuitive, but if you have interest in someone as a really hot girl you'll often need to be more aggressive with IoI's.
