That is because you are "expecting" something from them, you have an ulterior motive when you see them. Do you have the same motive when you are charming with other people? Just treat them as you would a friend, and do not care about getting with them. After you talk to a few hot women with no motive, your charm will connect and you will end up on a date and not be quite sure how you got there.

Seconded, going solo forces you to get into what you perceive as uncomfortable situations of meeting people. But if the hostel route, there are many the same. After awhile, your AA tends to go away and you return a master :)

Personally, I just say great, love to have friends, and then keep assuming we will end up in bed. Seems to work for me. Helps later too when the relationship part appears, you can refer back to the original just friends.

Actually, as straight man who also has MANY lesbian friends, they are the ones that gave me the joke. Obviously said with humor. The "so cool" reply has no humor and is condescending really, so I agree, that should never be used, would just make you look clueless. If she is telling you she is lesbian on first contact, I would assume that she is ok with it, don't be so serious. Each case should be analyzed separately.

Agree, if I am interested in a girl, I am actually INTERESTED in her life. If something she is saying is too boring too long, change the subject, that's what conversation is about. If she talks more than you are comfortable with, then call her out on it in a humorous way. If you aren't happy with the situation and she doesn't change, then she isn't the right one for you anyway, move on.

when I can't get them into the sexual conversation, I will usually fire off a sexual comment, funny, or whatever. then follow it up with a normal non sexual question. That lets them answer the second non sexual one and show interest for keeping the conversation going. Trust me, they do NOT forget the sexual one. Some girls just are uncomfortable with too much sexual chats, it doesn't mean they aren't sexual, you are planting seeds for later harvest.

I think that "laying it on the line" and telling them your feelings is what's going to end it. You can turn a friend into an FWB though. Keep them off balance, just be yourself and a friend, all's good, then jokingly drop a comment like "we are just friends, but damn, I bet the sex would be awesome ha ha" then steer away from anything sexual for awhile. As a guy who was more like 100 extra (though I am big guy anyway so not a blimp) salsa classes were the bomb. Classes at a club before the club gets going are awesome, you make friends with a lot of girls that are nervous and learning to dance, you both help each other, there isn't a better opener. Once the club opens up, you have a bevy of ladies to dance with already, and that shows any of the others that you might like that you are just there to have fun.
