Exactly. Leave her alone, is not such a big deal.

In these times of terrorist attacks where vehicles are used to mow down people - she is incredibly, unnaturally, stupid to drive into a ongoing marathon.

Then we agree. He should absolutely not have done that. Completely unjustified. (But it can be sweet for his personal revenge)

Hold up a sec, you're arguing a straw man. I have never said anything about her having allowance to assault him. Ofc she should not have done that and she deserves to be charged for it. Because she obviously was a threat at some point in time. This is absolutely not a valid reason for police to use force. Police use force to control a situation and control the suspect. Not to retaliate for previous misbehavior.

Women are weaker and this one was even sitting down and handcuffed. She was no threat to him whatsoever. His kick was not self defense or controlling the suspect or whatever. It was pure retaliation. Cops should not do that.

I've actually read up on this topic and feel like I can contribute here. In Sweden police doesn't carry tasers, and because it seem like a highly useful tool I read up on reasons why. There were some studies that had looked into the usefulness of tasers in decreasing the need for using a firearm. Basically there is a hierarchy of weapons a police officer can/should use. The last resort should always be to use a firearm and a taser could potentially work as a extra step after exhausting other opt…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
