apart from googling local muay thai gyms, i would ask around and see who's already into muay thai and at a gym, see if they can make any recommendations. you could also drop a line at r/muaythai with your location, very friendly bunch over there, always willing to expand the muay thai brotherhood. if all else fails, just search a couple of the ones around, join each gym for a class or two and pick whichever you think is best. for general rules of a good muay thai gym, i would say a friendly atmo…

Go to a gym and check out those fitness classes yourself. The only men I regularly see in those classes would be the instructor. The rest are hot girls who attend regularly and fat chicks going once a month, looking for a quick workout to feel good and put on their Instagram.

Muay Thai. Teaches discipline, hard work, self-belief and respect. Its also a great complement to a good gym routine and will have you ripped. Additionally, getting punched in the face a couple of times (and punching back if you're good enough) will do wonders for your confidence outside the gym. So many more benefits, but essentially; Muay Thai, get amongst it.
