Good point. Google trends doesnt state who's doing the search. The interest difference between the two, however, still shows the cultural zeitgeist. Are "men" (plural) walking away? Its not the norm where I live. Where I live the vast majority of Men I meet are still blue when it comes to relationships. Trust Google? Same. I work in the oil patch (US) "in the middle of no-where". High incomes and low cost of living is really the only way to get ahead these days. Inflation is a bitch everywhere else. Plus, I use the arbitrage to invest more for the future or go on a trip for the experience. You aren't "stuck" in the middle of nowhere if you have a high arbitrage.

The risk would have to come way down for me. The rewards just aren't there anymore. So, all my savings and investments before entering the marriage would have to be untouchable in divorce, then 60/40 from the marriage date forward, with a stipulation that the one who initiates the divorce gets the 40. Plus, no divorce lawyers. No alimony of any kind. 50/50 child custody with both agreeing where to live. Etc. Both parties work out the divorce details as adults. So, yeah...no.
