So you're plan is to play her hot and cold on the chance that she might one day play you cold? That sounds mature.

This means when she tests you by throwing a fit to see your reaction, let her know immediately that you don't accept bratty behavior. By dumping her ass! Have some self-respect for fuck's sake! We're always talking about improving ourselves and our game. That should include our standard for women. I'm tired of seeing these "tests" and I don't even like calling them "tests" because it sounds like a shift in power dynamic.

"Make her want what she can't have." It's not a guarantee for getting her, but it's the best chance you'll get.

I hate that "you're too good for me" crap. It's just a thinly veiled excuse to break it off without hurting his/her feelings. And if it's not, then why can't he/she just be happy with the fact that they're dating up?? It's like saying you want someone dumber/uglier/worse.

Find different women, the kind of women that would be more emotionally available and stable. Don't have sex with them. At least not for a few weeks or months. Delay sexual gratification and let the tension build. By the time you do the deed, you should have a solid relationship with someone you enjoy being around. As awesome as sex is, it complicates shit unnecessarily. Btw, I'm not entirely sure about step 2. It's a theory I'm testing out.

I came to this conclusion not too long ago. My "A-ha" moment happened when I likened it to fear. Quoting the great Will Smith, And it dawned on me, fear is not real. The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future. It is a product of our imagination, causing us to fear things that do not at present and may not ever exist. That is near insanity, Kitai. Now do not misunderstand me: danger is very real, but fear is a choice. Leagues are an illusion. A man-made concept. It's like…

Dude, she hooked you. Watch HIMYM S05E16. Her line, "when I'm single..." Is like her saying, "You're cute and funny, but I have a boyfriend... RIGHT NOW." It's almost comical.

It's easy to believe that, but I think that's just generalizing a huge population. I know some women that would have preferred men approached her at the grocery store as opposed to tinder or some other online dating app.

I'm not against office romances, but they do require a bit more... subtlety and precision, because whatever happens, you've still got that professional relationship to maintain. Going straight for the date out of nowhere, over text no less, is a risky move, imo. This is why.

Don't love yourself enough? Feel like you aren't good enough? This is easily remedied. You're the problem. Time to be the solution. Oh, is that it? </sarcasm> Overall, I agree with your message; I just think this particular statement makes light of a difficult problem.

Think of it like this: why bother trying to convince a girl, who doesn't want to go out with you, to go out with you? You're fighting an uphill battle. Your time and energy is better spent finding other girls who would love to go out with you.

That's not the reason Op posted. You're just offering unsolicited advice, which while well intentioned, is not what he's asking about. That would be like me replying to your message: "Oh, you have a cousin? You should try to get to know him/her better and recruit him/her as a wingman"

Yes, in a matter of speak. There are exceptions, of course, but typically the normal routine of life means panties dry up and boners go flaccid. In other words, don't forget to foreplay. Like cooking a meal, you've got to put in the prep work and preheat the oven before it's ready.

While this is true, Op isn't wrong either. I've been where Op is, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. The feeling comes and goes. When it comes, it's my cue to take a break and refocus on myself, as Op has.

I think your game was on-point the whole night. You were almost there. But then her mom called. Her reality brought her crashing down and killed the mood. Nothing you could do there. But she still wanted to see you! I think you lost her when you kept pushing to go to your place. You gotta build up to that and guide her there naturally, at a pace that's comfortable for her, but you don't start out the date at your place.

It sounds to me like both of you were using each other for sex, which is fine until someone (you) gets too attached and expects more. Don't fall for your FWBs. Also, if she's talking to her friend about how she wants to MARRY one of her FUCK BUDDIES (not even a bf!), and she can't even pick up on the writing on the wall, I think you're dodging a bullet. She doesn't sound like marriage material.

This post inspired me to approach women too. Nothing to fear but fear itself, right? Besides, my best relationships never would've happened if I hadn't taken that leap of faith. So I did! Just now! I saw this cute that I've noticed on the train before. So I pulled up next to her, made a quick comment about the smokers, and fhen I lost her when I asked the obvious: if she was going to work. Did I get a number? No, but I got a name, and an introduction. And I'm still breathing, so thanks!

Fuck-up example: I went out on a first date (with a new girl) a few weeks ago. Definitely not my first first-date and definitely not the first for anything. But as we got to the cliche first kiss goodbye at the end of the date, it was really awkward: she leaned in first, I think, then i learned in after and we didn't really line up correctly, and... it was bad. So, I laughed it off and said, "haha wow that was awkward." So, we kissed again.... and this time we bumped teeth a little. :/ "Third ti…

All good points. I want to elaborate on some of them: Don't feel emotionally attached just yet It's normal to dream and fantasize and get carried away with the idea that she's perfect and life is perfect and etc. Just try to keep yourself grounded. Don't make future plans as if you were in a relationship with her. Yeah, focus on one date at a time. Relationships tend to just happen after several dates. For me, they've been after several months of dating. And try not to worry about labels right n…

One time, in High School, I had a major crush on this girl. She was like a hard 10. (Turns out, she had a crush on me too. I just didn't know it at the time /facepalm). Anywho, I tried to talk to her after school, at this one spot, because I knew she'd always be there for a moment. I must've tried more than a dozen times, but I could never do it. Body kept freezing up and muscles tensed and... god I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it again. Anyway, yeah... we've all been there.

If you're scared about being vulnurable, but like her and don't want to miss out, just take it slow. Start out as friends. See how that goes. At some point, you may need to explain yourself. Say, "I really like you, and I don't want to miss out on what could be a great thing, but I just need to go slow right now and I hope you can understand."

Here's the thing about coffee dates: THEY'RE BORING (almost always, unless you two happen to be kindred spirits or something and hit it off instantly). If you're going to do a coffee date, at least make it a little more interesting: take that coffee to go as you walk down a park, or have that coffee in a museum, or something.

I think you're right. Something is not quite right. It sounds like she was not as excited about the date as you were. I'm thinking that next time it would be better to only stick with light, innocent touching instead of going for a kiss again. I would follow her lead. If she goes in for the kiss, take it. This was a deliberate move to 1) begin breaking plans to show spontaneity, 2) that I'm charitable [this little girl, and her whole family really are sweethearts. I love em], 3) that I am into, …

How about you stop trying to build yourself up. It's not a job interview; you don't need to prove yourself—you've already got the date. Just live in the moment and have a good time. Edit: possibly-ambiguous wording

I usually phrase my "question" as a statement. For example, the next day, I'll text her, "Hey! Just wanted to let you know I had a lot of fun last night." She would then reciprocate that back if she felt the same way. Or not, if she didn't. Either way, I have my answer.

slow clap I especially like this part: Getting a girlfriend or getting girls to like you, is not about status and power or showing of to your buddies your prize. I agree with some of these, less so with others. Namely, #4 ("Text at relevant hours and be sporadic"). I used to wait before I responded, to give the "illusion" that I was too busy. But honestly, I don't like to play mind games like this. And, I know we don't like it when girls play mind games. I will text when I can. If I'm free, I'll respond immediately, or soon. For most of these, I would just try a spontaneous kiss. I wish I had a good, visual example, but I can't find one right now. Story time: After watching a movie with my gf-at-the-time, we made our way back to the car. We just started dating, so we were all clingy and smiley and shit. I lost this mentality when something clicked for me. I would see gorgeous 10s with average 5-6 Joes. I would think to myself, what's going on here? That doesn't make sense. And I realized it's because those 10s want to be with the averages Joes. Perhaps the average 5-6 Joes are their types? The league scale does not take into account people's types/feelings/desires. That's what busted the league scale myth for me.

Yeah, I've heard persistence—the right kind of persistence—pays off. Don't just repeatedly ask everyday, because that'll likely annoy/scare/disturb her. The right way to persist is to stop chasing her; she must chase you. So, you act aloof, and find other interests, but still keep her "in the loop," throw an occasional flirt... Eventually, she may come around and think of you differently. But at this point, you're so far gone, you might as well keep going.

I'm by no means a A&F model or some sexy shit, but I've been on dates, had girlfriends, got laid, etc. And, to be 100% honest with you, I don't think I've ever "gotten a long stare from a girl in public." I know, because I've thought about it lately. Why? In my experience, online dating/hookups is a numbers game: you try to reach as many as possible, many of which will be fake/bots/spam, some of which may flake, or change their mind. It's about casting a wide, wide net and seeing what you can catch. Whereas in-person, it's harder, but if it works, it works. I like in-person because I think I have a certain charm/humor about me that is hard to translate to text.
