2	What should a man’s role be in deciding whether to have an abortion? Yes, sex selective abortion is legal where I live in Canada. A 2020 bill to ban the practice was recently brought forward but defeated, despite the vast majority of canadians being against the process. As detestible as it sounds, this isnt an injustice. It is our society deciding that the right to access abortion and protect access to abortion from ALL legal intervention outweighs the cost of misuse. Its still an ongoing debate. Also I'm a man, so like, I also physically cant be in that position... He can advise, or make his position known, but the decision should always solely be the woman's. That is not to say that a man should not also be given parenting rights. Here's what I propose: If a woman becomes pregnant and wants the child to have the support of a father, she must inform him of the pregnancy and that she suspects he is the father in writing at her earliest convenience after learning the fact.
