Well yeah, I feel like our preferences in men are supposed to be more homogeneous because we are the sex that has a greater stake in producing offspring with good genes, since we, you know, do carry the burden of childbirth and all the pains associated with it. From an evolutionary standpoint, it wouldn't be safe to choose men randomly with all kinds of different genetics because there's a good chance that many of those genetics won't pass on. We play it safe and stick to genes we know would be …

I'll admit I find it hard to empathize with a lot of men on here. Part of it is because I can't really relate to them, particularly unattractive men who whine about how no girl wants to be with them. Like yeah, boo hoo that's kind of how dating works. Sometimes men's venting just feels outright jarring and threatening indeed. It reminds of angry men who can't take no for an answer. It's pathetic too.

Friend zoning a guy literally just means "I'm not attracted to you but I don't want to hurt your feelings because we're still friends"

I'm particularly drawn to musicians and writers (my bf plays the guitar) but they have to be physically attractive for me to consider them relationship material. Im not really drawn to status or that kind of success though.

I know it's flagged CMV but I can't say much except that I wholeheartedly agree with this post. I'll be happy if a guy approaches me anywhere as long as he's attractive and taller than me. That said, I don't really think guys should do the approaching at all. I was the one to first approach my boyfriend because he was rather shy.

Yes, although it isn't something new or strikingly unusual. From a biological perspective we're supposed to be more choosy than men, simply because we bear the brunt of the risk in entering a relationship (pregnancy, childbirth, etc). So that fact alone kind of compensates for any kind of "unappealing" qualities we may have. It makes sense that our standards are a little higher, and we are drawn to guys who have good physical genetics. Men on the other hand pick whoever they can get. Also could …

Umm because it is? Why should we lie instead of telling the truth, it DOES make us feel uncomfortable and unsafe if the guy in question isn't attractive and not getting the hint. And I feel most women here can relate to this.

Someone who I'm physically attracted to automatically falls into the category of relationship material for me. I honestly don't know what you're trying to explain OP?

Hmm well sure it's hard to get a big friend group like that, not everybody can or wants to. But you can't deny that having a larger social circle helps to meet more people. You get to know a friend of a friend, another friend of that friend, so forth. Lots of relationships start that way. Not everyone can get a large circle of friends though, and I think that's why guys try to cope saying it's bad advice. It isn't. That's just down to your social shortcomings.

Misandry is against an institutionally privileged group of people, men. The oppressed cannot be the oppressors, which is the agenda that men (particularly incels, manosphere, red pill) seem to like to push.

I fucking looove how guys here try flip the script and make it seem like they're the ones who are victims of some kind of societal injustice. Creeps like the guy in the clip deserve all the shame they get. No unattractive man who is aware of it would ever approach a woman minding her own business like that in a public space. Unless of course he doesn't respect women's spaces and personal boundaries, which, unfortunately, is the majority of unattractive guys.

Reminds me of that girl who called out the creep who was trying to look up her skirt at a Barnes and Noble. It's amazing how these sleazebag men get away with this shit on a daily basis. You can see the discomfort in this young woman's eyes, I know what she's going through all too well because I've been in her situation countless times. I can bet that the guy was some old disgusting pervert in his 30s. It makes me feel even more sick that someone like him would be hitting on a girl who hardly lo…

hmm probably the biggest no no for me is balding. but other things like guys who have a weird face shape, sunken eyes, bug eyes, hairiness, long or bulbous nose, chubby cheeks, dark or patchy looking skin, scars. obviously facial deformities too. i could go on but these are just some things that probably would give me the ick I think a slightly below average man might do okay as long as he dates in or below his league. And pretty eyes are a good thing but it would depend on his other facial feat…

i don't really subscribe to any pill but they're gross while I don't think they're wrong ( like they basically just found out how dating works ) I just find it kind of cringe that they think things should be any different. And they feel entitled to women like getting a female partner is something they're owed

yeah while it does help to have similar interests because that way you'll be compatible together (as friends), it's not really something I would think does much for attraction. I think my bfs physical appearance was the main factor for me that got me into him. Although it is nice that him and I are both into video games and anime because it gives us a lot of common ground to talk about. I think people like to post their hobbies and interests just as a way to show their personality or lifestyle b…

um if you ask me i think physically unattractive guys would be a lot better off not dating and instead focusing on things other than finding a woman who will date them. Looks are really important and some guys really just don't meet the minimum standards. So yes I do admit that it's looks that are holding guys back. if Im being brutally honest, guys who are physically unattractive really shouldn't try to get with women in the first place. Do you find it disgusting that unattractive men want to d…

looks are really important to me personally so I would not date a guy who I don't find physically attractive. that said, and I think I speak for all women here, there are different preferences out there. for example I prefer guys who have long hair, tall, light skin, angled chin, nice eyes, I'm kinda into "pretty" boy facial features.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/23 02:32 AM

confidence is nice but it isn't really a huge thing for me personally. i think for me it was the fact that my bf is really good looking that got me into him but his confidence is kind of like a bonus to me. though I do also find him adorable when he's shy. I wouldn't date someone who I don't find physically attractive no matter how confident they may be because it's not like there aren't confident and attractive guys out there too.

/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/23 07:15 PM

Age matters a lot for me honestly I wouldn't really date a guy who's more than 3 years older than me just because it's an ick and the thought alone makes me feel disgusted (then again I'm 20). Not just the fact that older guys usually look uglier but also the difference in maturity. Women dating much older men is mostly the exception rather than the norm. Most women date a couple years around their age. Though I do think the age gaps tend to widen as both men and women get older because prioriti…

/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/23 05:33 AM

yeah. a guy who lets others walk over him is kind of a turn off. there is a difference between being kind and being a doormat/pushover. ick
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/23 05:28 AM

yeah honestly how I see a guy's personality has a lot to do with how physically attracted I am to him. I think guys often confuse friendship with dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/23 05:25 AM
1

Well yeah ofc looks aren't everything, but they are pretty important at least to me. I mean it's the difference between who I consider a potential "boyfriend" as opposed to just a friend. Looks get your foot through the door. If I don't feel any sexual attraction then I'm not dating you bye
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/23 05:21 AM
2

absolutely fucking not. probably does the opposite I don't think there's any mindset/ideology that can make a guy who is unattractive attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/23 05:12 AM
1

Personally I dont mind approaches as long as I'm attracted to the guy.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/23 12:17 AM

Looks are really important for me so if a guy who's like 3/10 tries to flirt with me I will try my best to give him the hint and ignore him. But if he's communicating in a harmless, friendly manner then probably I would talk to him like a friend. Overall I would treat them the same as I would treat anyone, in a neutral platonic way.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/23 12:15 AM

Couple of times a week depends though on depends on when I'm out. I tend to get hit on by creepy dudes most of the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/23 12:11 AM

I feel like it's not a really common occurrence (or rather it's pretty exaggerated). Women should still be encouraged to open up because the risk of false allegations still outweighs the risk of women being kept in silence.

nope in fact I think most women underrate their own appearance because of societal beauty standards and the chronic insecurity that we find ourselves facing over our body image. Whereas men on the other hand are almost always given encouragement as if they are good enough for women and they just have to be a "gentleman", no matter if they're short, have an ugly face or have a beer gut/dad bod. Which leads to them thinking that they are more attractive than they actually are
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/23 12:00 AM

I think a lot of guys try but they end up failing, in that case it's likely that they aren't attractive enough and aren't meant to date plain and simple. Not everyone's cut out for romance just in the same way that not everyone will be tall enough to go on a theme park ride.

I'd say that a lot of it depends on how attractive I find the guy, physically and chemistry-wise. But definitely overall I prefer guys who are kind and treat others respectfully. How I see he treats other people is a big thing for me personally.

no I'd say it's actually pretty good advice, surprisingly for something that comes from that community. People as they get older are more mature when it comes to relationships and get a better idea of what they actually need. iow they start to focus less on looks and more on stability and qualities that would make someone a good support. Which is good, because these young men can work on themselves to become more mature and emotionally/financially stable. So when they enter their 30s or 40s thei…

not really, usually I just feel kind of uncomfortable and anxious. I just want the guy to get away from me as quick as possible, with no false hopes (and obviously no hurt feelings either). I don't understand this obsession with teen love. Sure, having that experience might help a little in future relationships. But do I think it's crucial for guys? Hard nope. Teenage romance no doubt was an awkward and intense phase full of butterflies. Things that my bf would do when we were in hs sure were cute (and still are to me), but now if some other guy my age were to do them, I admit it would be kinda weird to me. I think it's because we were kind of in the same boat at the time. But I th…

Well yeah duh, how would anything, friendship or a relationship, start if no one makes a first move? Of course all relationships had to start at some point. But I wouldn't say men should be always encouraged to approach, especially if they aren't attractive (and they know it). That just screams lack of self awareness. Personally I find approaches annoying, particularly cold approaches where I'm minding my own business. They fall into the category of unwanted attention for me. Also I think men te…

Ah yes, marriage. The modern concept of marriage was shaped by patriarchal ideas and values. Probably originating from the Church and the Christian Bible, you know, the same book that says death, poverty, sickness, wars and disease are all because some talking snake told two humans to eat an apple thousands of years ago. The patriarchal concept of marriage makes women property of men. Its goal is to limit women's sexual prospects so that they are bound in servitude to men. Lovely

Um sorry no. I don't know why people keep peddling this idea that we only just care about grooming and hygiene, and how a guy makes us feeeeeel. Looks are pretty important to me when Im looking for a partner, probably the first thing I consider. Maybe because...it's the first thing you see. Just because a guy is groomed, has a fresh haircut and clean nails doesn't mean I'm gonna look at him and think "oh wow he is so attractive" if he's like 5'6 and has unsightly facial features. You're probably pretty dumb if you're willing to bet that much money on such an absurd claim. Men won't even lower their standards, despite them being less than 5 in looks. And they will complain that they cant "get" a bunch of young, attractive women lining up to suck their dick.

Dating isn't "AtRoCiOUs" for all guys. That's a generalized projection of experiences from unattractive men who are b i t t e r . And nobody's saying gaslighting men saying that it's personality. I feel like we have thoroughly dispelled that myth as a society. tldr; Complaining about the rules of a game is pathetic when you aren't even qualified to play.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 11:55 PM

You can't rationalize attraction. Just because you think a man is "low value" by your ideals doesn't mean that we won't find them attractive.

I've been with my bf since and he really wasn't good our first time, neither was I at all. He was way better than me though. But it was all awkward and fumbly, passionate, then ended in us cuddling. That said, I don't really know what is "good in bed". How good a guy is at sex isn't really something I think about tbh.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/23 02:34 AM

Not really, I mean yeah there's probably gonna be different preferences, which is what I think you're trying to explain. For example I like skinny white/asian skinny guys with longer hair, but other women may prefer guys with muscles, broader shoulders and shorter hair. These men are still objectively attractive, but appeal to different preferences (ethnicity, hair, skin, body). Umm yeah I guess life without platonic friends or any sort of social companionship definitely can be boring I would imagine. But you definitely don't need a romantic or sexual partner. Plenty of single men live pretty decent lives without any kind of romance, believe it or not. Being single gives you a lot more freedom in that way. And having a partner probably won't fix a boring life or a boring person. Your post overly romanticizes the idea of having a partner. No one is entitled to "someone s…

Guys below a 5/10 tend to overestimate their league and their own level of attractiveness. Usually it helps to aim for 2-3 points below what you think your league is.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/03/23 10:52 PM

Umm your religious beliefs/values don't really have much of an effect on who you find attractive, neither do they have much effect on how attractive you are. Even if I was religious, I'm not gonna want to date a guy just bc he's religious and traditional. I would want to date him because, well, he's attractive.

Idk but I would guess that younger guys are much more physically attractive (when compared to older guys). Men tend to start balding and gaining weight in their 30s. Because if we don't find a guy physically attractive then it's considered to be somehow our fault, and not the guy's shortcoming (no pun intended). Ofc makes sense in this patriarchal society

Well I can find a guy under 6 ft attractive if he has a really good face. But yeah, definitely not any guy under 5'10. Though I do agree men under 5'10 are the equivalent of obese women, and if I may add, the equivalent of ugly women too.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/03/23 12:25 AM

Partners (who meet online and in person) usually match in attractiveness level. Average goes with average, above average goes with above average, etc. Stay in your league, problem solved. Unless you're anywhere from below average to repulsive, which in that case, probably not the best idea to date altogether.

How about men learn to avoid women if they know that they're gonna make us uncomfortable? You know? Just kinda stay the fuck out of our way. And perhaps - just perhaps - learn to respect female spaces.

Boo hoo. Is it really that hard to stop staring at us and leave us alone? It's already scary enough being a woman out there, great to know that you actually think you're a victim in all this.

Be attractive. Don't be unattractive. Also helps to first make sure we're open to conversation. Like if I'm trying to study, or if I'm rushing to class and you just come up to me, then I'll be pretty annoyed and want to get the fuck away from you anyways. Coming on too strong or following us is creepy and definitely a red flag. Just strike up a conversation like you would with anybody. If you have any doubt that you're attractive, or that we're open to conversation, then don't approach. That sai…

They're shamed because they're literally predatory. There's a power difference, not just physically but mentally as well. An older man probably has more experience/maturity than a younger woman, which the man can exploit to his advantage.

Your post makes a lot of unproven assumptions. First of all, the idea of chivalry is outdated and based on patriarchal gender roles. Also, just because a man takes a woman out on a date and pays, doesn't mean that the woman owes him sex.

I'm the same age, and I'd say you have to go out and meet people. Go out and talk to guys IRL, maybe classmates or anywhere else at your school. Try bars and clubs too. Stick with someone you find attractive and click with. Watch out for the creeps though.

All day, every day: Therapist, mother, maid Nymph, then a virgin nurse, and a servant Just an appendage, live to attend him So that he never lifts a finger Twenty-four-seven baby machine So he can live out his picket fence dreams It's not an act of love if you make her You make me do too much labour
/r/PurplePillDebate25/03/23 05:22 AM

Love bombing is really creepy, especially if it's from a guy I don't find attractive and want nothing to do with at all. Coming on too string is def a turn off and a red flag. But it may work if both people are surely attracted to each other with no doubt.

Definitely has made me more distrusting of men. A lot of men who post on TRP are predatory af. I've found out that men are even more perverted and disgusting than I thought. The way they think, what they post, makes me seriously want to never interact with men. So yeah...men are shit
/r/PurplePillDebate25/03/23 05:10 AM

Again and again, this kind of bullshit post keeps coming up. Don't know what you're on, but PPD is definitely overall accurate when it comes to IRL preferences for both men and women. Sure there are some outliers, but don't deny that the rules are rigid. All games have rules and requirements. The dating game is no exception.

Genuine male friends who have no other intentions are fine. Guys who pretend to be friends with me with hopes of eventually starting a relationship, yeah that's an orbiter and they're annoying af. ick

How is 18 and 18 unusual? Most relationships in HS/College are the same age or 1 or 2 years difference. 25 and 18 is anything but usual, if not downright predatory.

Yep. I think just about anyone above 21 dating a literal teenager is creepy af. Same goes for guys in their late 20s dating early 20s girls. I really hate that stupid "half your age plus 7" that men consider a "good" rule. Meaning someone out of college who is able to drink can date a girl who is barely out of high school.

There's a whole lot of older single women, wtf are you on about? You just aren't willing to date someone who may already have kids or may be divorced...which is you limiting your own options.

Oh god what a nightmare. The child would need to understand that he is different from others, and he needs to be aware of that. First I would try to get him to understand that romantic relationships aren't necessary for happiness, and no one is entitled to them. Plenty of people out there who live alone just fine and lead decent, fulfilling lives. I would make him instead focus on developing social skills and making basic friendships with other people, learning to respect other people's boundari…

Im so sorry, you should never have to feel like you have to conform to men's ridiculous standards. It's disgusting what they judge women on, as if we are pieces of meat. You are a goddess boss bitch, remember that

Yep hit the nail on the head with this one. I find that a lot of men seem to have a victim mentality which blames women for their own shortcomings. The old patriarchal establishment is finally starting to crumble, which makes a lot of unattractive guys whine because now they don't have that privilege that they so feel entitled to. Throughout history, tons of males lived alone and died alone. That's just the way nature is. Patriarchal institutions in society have enabled men (who otherwise should…

I mean it doesn't really affect me that much, I just move on. It's bound to happen at some point. I had a crush on this really attractive guy from my class, we talked and we hung out. Eventually he mentioned that he has a girlfriend. But it's not like he still isn't a great guy and a really good friend.

Nope a guy's looks do matter, a lot really. I'm not afraid to admit it. Goes both ways really. It's supposed to be common sense, but it's become kind of a pink elephant in the room, so to speak. Looks are what get your foot in the door. If you can't get past the the door then you're not getting in period, regardless of how great you think your personality is.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/03/23 02:37 AM

Well tbh I don't really consider whether a man is a good provider, that's becoming an outdated notion. For me it's two things: if I'm physically attracted to the guy, and if we both have good chemistry. Not saying that there aren't any other women who look for provider qualities in a man, but it's not really that necessary today. I mean, I work, I can support myself, pay my bills, etc
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/23 06:17 PM
2

Yeah it does make me kind of uncomfortable, but it isn't so bad unless the guy can't seem to take no for an answer and persists, even if he's polite. That puts him in the creep-zone for me. Also feels kind of insulting

How much someone earns isn't really a criterion that I consider much (if at all) in dating, as long as we can both support ourselves together financially and manage the expenses of living. But if I had to pick, I would rather earn more, just cause well, I mean the more money the better. And more financial stability for yourself.

Partners tend to match in terms of physical attractiveness and economic status. The whole idea of "hypergamy" that I see being thrown around is largely blown out of proportion, if not a myth.

I mean I'm not always thinking about sex, and going without sex has never really been a problem for me. I get in the mood when I'm with my bf because we both enjoy it together, for his sake and mine.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/03/23 08:11 PM

Umm yeah age gaps do matter. I don't think any teenage girl would even think of dating a guy older than 24, unless she's being groomed. I'm in my late teens and the idea makes me want to gag. There is no reason a 30+ year old man should be dating someone who's barely out of high school, that's predatory as fuck. We've heard the saying half your age plus 7, but I think that's pretty outdated. I'd say a safe gap is 4 years at max.

Any way to select multiple races? I would date White and East Asian guys but not black, unfortunately the checkbox only allows for either one option, or all. Well I got a 4/5 lol, at least I can say I got a high score
/r/PurplePillDebate11/03/23 07:54 PM

Yeah we're kind of getting back to the normal course of natural selection, now that we've been freeing ourselves from the chains of the patriarchy.

/r/PurplePillDebate11/03/23 07:08 PM

Umm yeah I guess it's natural selection at work in the current society. Probably the best way to correct the issue is wide-scale chemical castration for men.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/03/23 06:58 PM

Mass killings, shootings, and similar outbursts of violence tend to be carried out by these kinds of men. The manosphere tends to encourage a lot of resentment against women and society in general, which often leads to these violent, large scale tantrums. So that's why it's gotten more coverage in recent years. As much as I couldn't give a fuck about these men, we do need to acknowledge the fact that they ARE a threat.

No way should women be expected to be open to any guy's advances. Unattractive guys who cold approach are called creepy...well because they are creepy, not to mention fucking annoying. If I'm clearly not interested and a guy keeps trying to talk to me, then well I'm gonna try my best to get away from him ASAP. I'm not obligated to "play along" with a guy's advances or reject him kindly, sorry.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/03/23 06:25 PM

This Cold approaches from unattractive/vertically challenged men are almost always creepy and falls into the category of unwanted attention from a stranger. Guys should at least have enough self-awareness to know that

I'll just quote Marie Shear on this one... Feminism is the radical notion that women are people. Probably the best sentence I've ever heard that captures the core of feminism

I date guys who I'm physically attracted to, and then I see if we have some chemistry and "click". I can't really control who I'm physically attracted to, so you're right, it is wrong to judge someone for that. Don't know about women giving ugly guys a chance, but personally I've never done so. I don't think I'd be able to overcome the "ick" factor. Haven't noticed such a trend either.

Idk but if I was to guess it's because we don't find most guys attractive (honestly). Like I don't see most guys in a romantic/sexual light, most of my reactions to guys are either neutral, nonsexual, or (in some worse cases) disgust. For me, getting a boyfriend or date wasn't really that hard, don't know about other women's experiences here but feel free to share. Also could be because Im bi, speaking of which Ive noticed a lot of my friends and female classmates are bi/lesbian too. I guess our…
