I agree with everything you said, although there's tons more I could add about why a false R accusation is even worse than R itself. You also have to consider not just what he went through but what he could have gone through if convicted. It's like firing a loaded gun into a crowd. Even if you don't hit anyone pretty bad. But when you say the process is the punishment cuts both ways? I don't see it. It seems pretty one sided to me.

"perjury charges" It's not your fault, but just hearing you say that is like a gut punch. That's would be the consequence? At worst? For a false R allegation there should be a crime to be charged that's as serious as R itself. As the false R allegation is every bit as harmful and I'd argue way way more harmful than an actual R if you consider the possibility of what happens to a man if he's convicted both in prison and to his life.

Even in Canada they are making laws that the police can tell a woman anything about a man's past, so all his privacy rights gone, if they suspect DV or something. This same reasoning that people have to know in order to protect themselves would never be used for the benefit of ackh , MEN? Right? Not even considering that a false R allegation is about a million times more harmful to a human being than a DV incident. And I'll stand by that and debate it with anyone!

I agree but I think it's important to not throw out the baby with the bath water. We can disagree with his conclusion on the majority and still think that his arguments are powerful in putting upwards pressure on how we estimate the number of false reports.

I read every single comment till yours and didn't see one reference to a conspiracy theory. Why do some people love dropping that term out of context? What they could do with someone's DNA is a lot with health insurance law enforcement or potential employers wanting to know as much about you as possible.

Everyone in the above comments giving high fives about finally something done to protect unwitting men. But it seems those narrow circumstances make this not very significant overall. Many men will continue to be victimized by paternity claim fraud. It needs to be expanded.

At first I though "invasive" how ? You could literally use their slobber. But being a huge privacy advocate I can see the concern of having DNA taken without your consent. So it should be done in a way to prove or disprove paternity and then destroyed with no copies. And oversight and prison penalties for abuse by anyone including government officials. That should quell the ivasiveness concerns.

I think you've been treated too harshly for simply asking for evidence. But at the same time while what he gave isn't strictly speaking "proof", if you're acting in good faith here you'd have to admit he has some very compelling arguments. And since proof will never be had for what happens in many or most of these cases because of their nature the perspective he offers is one that demands to be considered.

They are not diversity initiatives they are anti male initiatives so they never will. For example the dominance of women in nursing and teaching is extreme If the roles were reversed the cries for money to be poured into it to even it out would be loud and furious. Those other ones you mentioned are not in the same situation of being forced for men and not being forced for women. But there is another level of unfairness against men in them that there are sexist requirements to get the job that favor women in most of them. Lower standards if you are female.
