I agree it is. It takes a certain type of person to put their lives on the line. History suggests these types of people are more likely to be men. At least when the threat is not towards biological children.

That fits with Campbell's theory that women evolved to be more afraid of injury than men. Women on average fear most things more than men. Maybe there is a training need here. Or maybe male officers are chivalrous and protect female officers which would fit with Richard Felson's theory. Probably bit of both.

I feel the same. I just think that coercive control should be relevant for divorce and relevant in child custody cases but not a criminal act. It feels like gov mission creep to me. If its not a crime in other situations then it doesn't make sense that intimate relationships get extra legislation. They could have just amended the stalking act.

I was at a policing conference recently which was incredibly biased. Prof Walby and some dame were talking he for perp and she for victim continually. When I challenged them with actual research they were unable to respond. A police officer from Liverpool then spoke up and effectively supported one of my points. Disgusting misrepresentation scientific evidence.

Kimmel is a feminist academic. I largely ignore his work when doing research. His statement "It’s like being a Jewish neo-nazi,” is typical of his position but astounding all the same. The implication being that men and boys are genocidal and despise and wish to annihilate women. WTF. How can that sentence even be printed or spoken without challenge? Even when a child could point out how blatantly incorrect it is.

Totally. Which is strange because research tells us that high heels restricts blood circulation in your lower limbs which can lead to spider veins, it can also shorten the muscles in your calves and stiffen your Achilles tendon, leading to pain and muscle spasms. But the pain doesn't just occur in your legs and feet. Heels can also cause back and knee problems. Might as well go back to chinese foot binding.

If you look at the research about perception of discrimination it tells you this lowers self esteem. Women are constantly indoctrinated into believing they are discriminated against. Interestingly this does not extend to make up as multidollar industries depend on this. So the oppression is due to society or men.

What i do not understand is the feminists feel make up is a feminist issue. So women should have to put expensive and potentially toxic chemicals on their skin to be 'clothed'. Not only is this potentially dangerous in terms of chemucal exposure and expense but it also wastes probanly the equivalent of 1 working day a week applying and removing this shit. If women stopped wearing make up they could up do something more interesting instead.

Some women are litigious. Don't tar us all with the same brush. The problem isn't 'women' the problem is a system that treats women like snowflakes and constantly tells us we are being fucked over. It opens the door to this type of thing which harms men and women and creates mistrust and the perception of difference when actually research shows men and women are more alike than different. It is like the blue/ brown eyes study. Deeply unhelpful for both parties.

I was also a feminist until i began researching DV. I literally heard about the equal numbers of male and female perpetrators and decided to prove it wrong by researching for my PhD! I quickly realised the figure was correct and it opened my eyes to all the rest of the bias. I've spent the last 20 years trying to get this information out.
