I work for a municipal sanitation department that pays it's employees very well and provides amazing benefits. A lot of women meet us and know exactly how much we make. Going out and telling girls you're a garbage man in my city, and it's like cha-ching! Interestingly, my city has been pushing hard to get more women to join. They simply don't want to.

"free speech"? No, this is clearly yelling: "fire!", in a packed theater.

"battered women's syndrome". It's amazing because so many women do this. If 50% of cases end up like this, that must mean there are plenty more women living with abusive men, and simply taking the beatings. A lot of fathers are like this, and it's healthy and normal. I knew a couple, where the husband was stay-at-home while his wife worked (he had lost is job just before the baby was born, so they decided that he should stay home for the time being, and find another job when the baby turns 1 or so). Anyways, the father spent a lot of time with the kid, more than the mother. I think single middle aged women are a lot lonelier and more miserable than single middle aged guys. My mom has elderly/middle aged single female friends and they're all miserable. Meanwhile I work with plenty of middle aged single men, and most of them are quite happy and active. We make good money, so they own homes, guns, cars, they travel all the time. My moms spinster friends live on medicaid and foodstamps.
