I always call him [partner’s name]-bear, or daddy.

I’m super grateful for my Captain whisking me off to a beautiful, adults-only resort for a week of winter-sun. It’s my Christmas/valentines gift and also a thank you for my support while he’s in a job transition. I’m very lucky.

I will be taking this post to r/childfree instead of here. There are some wonderful and thought provoking comments here, and some which do nothing but set my hamster running. I will consciously be stepping away from this post. Nina x

Thank you very much for this response. It was really well-measured and lovely to read. I completely see what you mean. It’s irrelevant to RPW tools and Captain/first-mate. On a personal level, that was very enjoyable insight to read. I’ll be mulling that over for a while!

Hi there, Thanks for your response. The way you’ve expressed yourself resonates with me a lot. I wouldn’t say that I’m likely to change my mind. I just know that it is a possibility among infinite possibilities and to ignore that would be foolish. I think what I wanted to know, was how well the childfree lifestyle meshed with RPW living. Another commenter below has outlined that they’re not really that connected.

I’m not on the fence, I believe I just expressed myself inaccurately in my post. In 5 years I could change my mind, it’s unlikely but not impossible. I suppose what I was looking for was experienced of how well childfree living meshed with the RPW lifestyle.

Yes, the whimsy of it absolutely helps. We make each other laugh all the time as we pick up on each other’s funny lingo. It keeps things really light and affectionate. :-)

I’ve narrowed his gifts down to a velvet smoking jacket and a chef’s scimitar! :-)

He’s a sweetheart when it comes to indulging my whims. We had spoken about it previously and expressed an interest in it. He mentioned earlier in the evening that he’d like a martini. I was feeling like a grumpus and had a bit of a brainwave! I try not to surprise him TOO much with these things. Sometimes it’s just not the right vibe :)

You can get clip on bunny tails, if you’d ever like to live out some bunny girl realness with her! :)

Definitely! My mind is quietened by acts of service.

Have you ever spoken to her about it? Communication is king!

We’ve never had our first honeymoon! We’re both having a very happy Sunday though.

It appears to have gone well. He was very pleasantly surprised.

It went very well. We slept a lot later than intended as a result, but it was time well invested.

I had developed a terrible habit of being terse and coarse with my partner. I wanted to undo that behaviour before it was too late.

Showering my candlelight has blown my mind. I never thought something as simple as lighting could turn showering into such a luxury.

Our bathroom ceilings are quite high so we don’t suffer them too much! Glass votives could be a good solution to smoke stains though!

I may have to make that my next post! ;)

It’s lovely to hear someone so happy! When you find yourself harrumphing about something which is grating on your nerves, it can help so much to list your partners great qualities to yourself. It often gives me scope on just what a good man he is.

That is so sweet. Reading about love languages helped me a lot. I also try to imagine him complexly. I definitely stumble, but we just have to recommit every morning and try to keep bettering ourselves as partners and people. :)

Being playful with your partner is super important. So many people forget that! I try to do nice, little things for him often. Tonight I’ll make us both coconut milk hot chocolates with toasted marshmallow topping. We’ve both given up alcohol and are a little dairy intolerant!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
