Usually the legal phrase is “reasonable force”. Or you can defend yourself, but only using reasonable force. And only when you are being attacked/fear harm to yourself. People don’t like to read this, but it’s generally quite clear in the state statutes.

Most people don’t bother with going to the court and settle it amongst themselves. But if you can’t decide on how to split assets, the family court can make a decision on spousal maintenance here in Australia, even if the relationship only lasted for 2 years and 1 day. There is no broad definitive answer in Australian law. Unless you and our partner decide on a Consent Order, the Family court would decide what is and is not considered to be included in the asset pool. Even if there is a order in place the court could still decide differently if it decides there is enough reason to do so. No. There’s nothing legally to divorce. In the uk there is generally no rights to the other parties savings, assets, superannuation.. I live in Australia and a common law relationship is called De Facto. If you’ve been in a relationship for 2 years you can bring matters before the Family Court. (Parental rights, child support, alimony).

Sure he could pin her, but then that would leave him venerable to attack from a 3rd party. A flailing arm, even by a girl, can have a lot of force behind it. Catch it in the wrong way and you could get knocked out, fall and hit your head and end up with a traumatic brain injury. Yep. I once lost 50lbs just through changing diet. Went on a eating plan and man was it hard to do. Took like 10 months or so. Denying the cravings isn’t easy when you’re used to satisfying them (soft drinks are my weakness). But with enough motivation and willpower it can be done.

If convicted, its the usual practice is that the jail times are applied concurrently, not individually added up. It then the us courts have done the exact opposite. Have to wait and see the outcome. Has to be convicted before being sentenced.
