First of all, I just realized your username, and it's awesome. Second of all, (and this is admittedly a personal flaw) I hate it when guys tell me when I'm prettier when my hair is nappy / not ready. I put a lot of effort into that shit, and I'm proud of the effort I put in to look my best. So if you see me when I'm not ready, I'm extremely uncomfortable and apologetic for my appearance. The compliments only exacerbate the feeling and draw attention in my mind to how terrible I look. That being …

Fair enough, but at the same time, if a dude ever actually complimented my eye shadow because it made my eyes look beautiful to them, I would definitely pay more attention to him. It's different enough from the "usual" compliments that most girls get, and that was the point I was trying to make. I may have a bit of a bias towards eye shadow in particular though...

Pay attention to what you compliment. Girls get the vague "so sexy", "so beautiful", etc. all the time. It's impersonal, and a real turnoff. Unless you're Brad Pitt, complimenting like this most likely isn't going to get you anywhere. Focus instead on the little things, like: "Hey, I love that shade of eye shadow on you! It really makes your eyes stand out" or "You always look so happy in your pictures" or something along those lines. Tailor the compliment for her and her alone. Girls (as a gene…

Ok, so everything I'm about to say is from a female perspective that may or may not work on other females (because girls are silly and icky). Odds are, she's already made up her mind whether or not she's going to close with you. Talking about a new bikini? Definitely a positive on your end (she's putting the picture of her scantily clad in your mind. That's probably not an accident!). However, I don't necessarily think it was a bad thing if you didn't go out and directly try the first line that …

Ladybro, actually :D As far as what you did wrong, from what I can tell, you haven't yet. The only thing you didn't do was escalate after the initial interaction (or at least maintain interest). If you're just looking for a friend, then yeah, sure this is fine. But you're asking in /r/seduction (or askseddit :p), and that means you want to close. What I would have done is after class I would have said something like "hey, sorry about that in class. I have difficulty hearing sometimes". It's hone…

Ok, that's probably fair, but I drive around so much and have to go into the city everyday that I consider it part of it (plus I'm not from here so I just lump it all together - I cut it off at Conroe though). I love the Woodlands! It's so beautiful. I go to a Reddit meetup there every other week :D

I honestly couldn't tell you. I just moved here back in 2011, and I've been living on the outside of the Beltway for the entire time. The places I hang out are way on the north side in Spring. I'll have to check and see if it's still around!

Fair enough! I do need to learn my technical terms a bit better. Thanks for the info! I'm in Houston, so there are lots of hipsters and cowgirls, but just find a good, small bar that has a rock open mic night and they'll be there. Besides, you should be opening sets with people that will get you to the after party! Maybe that can be a goal... :p

A) Thanks for liking it! I've been debating doing one of these for a long time, and last night was just a good opportunity to talk about. I love reading the guys' stories here and I hope that others will like mine. B) Hang around a local band that's pretty popular and plays all the time. You'll find them, don't worry. C) :D D) Ok, I'll try and clarify a bit. I didn't mention approach with him much because I had built rapport with him in the past as a bartender, so when he approached me (Another …

That's probably the healthiest mentality to be in, I think. Just have fun, actually try to meet new people just for the sake of getting to know another human being, and hope for the best. I am indeed in a band (plus karaoke is the shit!), and I like to go do open mic nights. If that's in state, I never want to leave it... :D Alas, the life of an auditor in the busy season leaves little time for typing out field reports, but I definitely promise to write one as soon as I can! Thanks again for cha…

I loved the concept of Yes Man when I saw it. It's such a great idea to go out and try new things! What is your "perfect fit" for you? I'm always curious to see where people have the best success meeting people (plus it gives inspiration as well!). I've been tempted to do a field report on a couple of my last "outings", but they would mostly be me gushing about being on stage and basking in the glory of it, so I didn't think that would make too good of a story :p I'll definitely be trying to chr…

First of all, I must say that you have a wonderful writing style. If you open sets the way you type, I have no doubt that you're invincible :D I really do appreciate the input. It's really nice to talk out things like this with someone who knows exactly what you're going through (like therapy, but cheaper!). I honestly don't get the stigma against this place. Yes, some guys can be real sleazeballs when it comes to seduction, but people should learn by now that guys like that are the exception, n…

I always worry about that too, but at the same time, I always wonder "Am I the HB2 or the HB6?" I honestly probably wouldn't notice at all until they used a line I saw on here, then I'd try to inform them that I knew what they were about. It'd be kinda cool to see what a guy could do to salvage a situation where the girl knew he was trying to seduce her. I love the psychology of this whole game. It fascinates me.

You've basically hit my biggest personality flaw right on the head with that one. I must admit, most of the changes I've made in the past were to try and get others to like me. My newest outlook is the healthiest I've had in a very long time (I'm dieting for myself. I was tired of hating myself when I looked in a mirror, so I decided to do something about it, I'm trying to improve my personality / social skills more so when I go on stage I can mesh with a crowd better, that kind of thing). At th…

See, I think I'd just use it as another means to keep conversation going. I see so many field reports where the HB9.875138 says "are you trying to seduce me?" and the guy just rolls with it. I wouldn't call him out like "you're seriously trying to pull that?", but more like the above line. It shows I know what he's doing, and that I'm totally ok with it :)

While I'd like to think so, I'm still mostly left with whoever will take me. I haven't quite unlocked the "secret" just yet that leaves me with a cascade of men fawning over me (I know, approaching is key. I'm just being facetious). I need a personality upgrade, I think. The first rule is "improve yourself", which I am working on, but I think I talk too much about awkward stuff :p

Female here. I like to use this place to kind of take notes, to understand why some guys act the way they do, and why some guys won't approach. It also gives me insight into my own behaviour, and what I can be doing to make people not want to approach / how I can be more attractive to a guy. I've never called out a guy for using lines or anything like that (but then again, I don't think a line has ever been used on me. It's usually last call / desperate / creepy guys that hit on me), but it's ni…

You have to keep in mind, though, that this isn't written as an example of every women, all the time. I agree whole-heartedly. I know we girls can be not fun to be around at times (but not always), and we need to be shown our mistakes when they happen for our own betterment. I merely meant that the tone of some of the things (particular word and phrase choices) he said could be misread in a somewhat more offensive way (which I realize was not the author's intent, so it really didn't bother me mo…

As a female, I found the article very interesting and informative about my own behavior. Sometimes I do cause drama and I'm not very sure why (I'm normally a very calm person and believe communication is absolutely necessary, so drama does tend to be rare), but a lot of the things he said as reasons rang uncomfortably true for me. The only thing that made me bristle a little (and this was my inner feminazi peeking her head out) was the way he referred to women in his writing style. I realize tha…
