| -8 | It sad how true this isIsn't the argument about the pay for the U.S. teams, or is it all the teams? Because financially, and in every other metric, the women are out performing the men, and should be paid accordingly. | /r/MensRights | 12/07/19 02:51 AM |
Why Men Accused Of Rape Should Be Anonymous Unless ConvictedI am familiar with what the AG said. I still have questions about what really happened that will never be answered. | /r/MensRights | 01/10/10 12:17 AM
Why Men Accused Of Rape Should Be Anonymous Unless ConvictedNobody is innocent. That is pure PR. Nifong shit the bed and the AG did the only thing he could and put an end to the case. I looked at the book and the blog and couldn't find any actual factual investigations done by Johnson. I did note that his book seemed to focus on the media reaction and the Duke Faculty more than the facts of the alleged crime. | /r/MensRights | 01/10/10 12:15 AM
Why Men Accused Of Rape Should Be Anonymous Unless ConvictedDo you have any information about the investigation? Do know if there was any corroboration of the complaining witnesses claims? Do you know if there is any history of complaints or investigations of these defendants? I don't. I know that the police I work with don't rush to charge rape because they know how difficult it is to prove. I assume the detectives in the Durham case felt like they had a solid case before it all went FUBAR. I know the attorney general dumped the case because it was PR d… | /r/MensRights | 30/09/10 01:26 AM
Why Men Accused Of Rape Should Be Anonymous Unless ConvictedI am all for legalizing and taxing MJ. It would save me time and let me focus on dangerous criminals. I don't personal tolerate bad cops. If anything, I am harder on them then regular criminals because they took an oath to enforce the law. Racism in the justice system is a serious problem, but last time I checked, my county had 28 black defendants awaiting trial for murder, and 27 of the victims were black. I want justice for those victims. | /r/MensRights | 29/09/10 09:59 PM
Why Men Accused Of Rape Should Be Anonymous Unless ConvictedThe DA was Mike Nifong. He was disbarred and sued into bankruptcy. He really shit the bed on that case. It made our job much more difficult. I'm still not even sure if those guys we guilty of anything. They could be, and just got off because the case was bungled by the State. | /r/MensRights | 29/09/10 09:38 PM
Why Men Accused Of Rape Should Be Anonymous Unless ConvictedBtw, what are their names? Can you remember, because I can't, and I live here. | /r/MensRights | 29/09/10 09:29 PM
Why Men Accused Of Rape Should Be Anonymous Unless ConvictedIf I am accused of rape, it doesn't matter if my name is published or not. Isn't the heart of the problem that an innocent person is accused, arrested and tried? I don't think the publicity is the worst of it. | /r/MensRights | 29/09/10 09:27 PM
Why Men Accused Of Rape Should Be Anonymous Unless ConvictedNice cheap shot. | /r/MensRights | 29/09/10 09:25 PM
Why Men Accused Of Rape Should Be Anonymous Unless ConvictedThe accused should be named. It is impractical not to. How many John Does can you keep in jail awaiting trial before mistakes are made? Victims are not named because the standard defense to most rape cases is to smear the victim. The state should protect victims from additional abuse. But maybe the police and DA should apply a higher standard than just probable cause to sex crimes. Maybe they should the u.s. attorney standard of "likely to secure a conviction at trial." before charging and arres… | /r/MensRights | 29/09/10 09:10 PM
This was floating around in Facebook tonight..."anecdotal statistics"? There is no such thing. Just my personal observations over 6+ years of dealing with the victims and perpetrators of domestic violence. I have seen women charged with crimes of domestic violence by there abusers for defending themselves. Those are at least half of the charges against women. Abusers are typically very familiar with how the system works and they take advantage of it. They realize that they can swear out a warrant against the women they beat so they have some… | /r/MensRights | 29/09/10 12:07 PM
This was floating around in Facebook tonight...90% of the time, that FB post is accurate when it comes to physical domestic abuse. It's annoying because it's barely written in English, but you get the point. Systematic physical abuse in relationships is typically controlled by the man, and it's usually just a means of dominating the other person, though it may be an end in itself, if he a sadist. It can happen that men are the victims of abusive women, but it is very rare. There is usually other types of domination: economic, social, emotion… | /r/MensRights | 28/09/10 10:11 PM
