I used to behave this way and all it got me was a bunch of toxic relationships. If you choose to behave in ways that are emotionally immature, manipulative, and selfish (as this book suggests) you'll attract people who are similar and/or have other issues not worth dealing with. I now believe you attract what you are putting out into the universe.

Damn I never thought of it this way! As a bi woman myself I agree wholeheartedly

I have a yet to meet a man that puts more effort into his appearance than I do. Women do so many things to be considered attractive to men, including all of the things you mentioned plus hair removal, makeup, lashes, nails, facials, blowouts, expensive beauty products and sometimes even plastic surgery. Not to mention dressing up in uncomfortable heels, push up bras, shape wear and other restrictive clothing just to look "sexy" SMH

100% same with benzos. I don't miss fucking up my life, but i do miss the confidence it gave me.

Yes, I've used OLD off and on since 2020. I met my last bf on Hinge. What you're describing as "seenzoned" definitely does happen. I'm not proud of this, but I've done it myself. It happens when I'm on the fence about a match and/or lose energy and don't feel like replying to anyone. It's not bc the match "bored me" in any way. I'm now much more careful to only match with men that I'm genuinely interested in and will almost always respond.

What gave you the impression that women don't still feel nervous/socially awkward in the early stages of dating, even with tons of dating experience? I've been dating regularly and have had multiple LTRs since my teenage years (I'm 33f now) and I still get nervous for first dates and say weird, socially awkward things at times. And i'm a very social, outgoing person. I definitely don't expect the men I date to be perfect. In fact, if a guy i'm dating is too smooth, i see it as a sign that he's a…

Same. If I'm perfectly honest, yeah, some of those traits can be sexually attractive. But once their true colors show I'm outta there ✌️
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/23 01:05 AM

I agree with this 100%. It's hard to put into words what I find attractive. The traits you mentioned are all things that women potentially look for in a partner and are objectively good traits to have. But if I'm perfectly honest, they have nothing to do with attraction (for me at least). Attraction, for me, is much more about how a man carries himself, his confidence levels, how he makes me feel when I'm with him. Just his overall vibe as well as his physical appearance. It's more primal, like …

I agree 100 %. The idea of having a paternity test done doesn't seem offensive or outrageous to me at all. I'm not sure why some ppl react so strongly to it.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/04/23 06:10 PM

Idk about being afraid, but I certainly think it would serve as a deterrent to anyone trying to lie about paternity.

You are comparing apples to oranges. But I can see you're intent on being right/mansplaining the law to me so I won't be commenting on this thread any further.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/04/23 04:28 AM

There are always outliers. But if that really happened, and there's no other relevant factual nuance that you're omitting, it would go against the laws as they are written and enforced in this country. I wouldn't be overly concerned. Edit: Also you shouldn't rely on news stories as journalists often don't understand the law well enough to report on it. You need to read the actual court opinion

Thanks for not arguing with me 🤣
/r/PurplePillDebate09/04/23 02:45 AM

Again, not how it works. At least not in the U.S. You can request a court-ordered paternity test if you have reason to believe the child isn't yours even if you're married and/or your name is on the birth certificate. Despite all of the fear-mongering surrounding men being forced to support children that aren't biologically theirs, the much more common scenario is men not paying their fair share (for a myriad of reasons i won't get into here). Being forced to raise someone else's child doesn't h…
/r/PurplePillDebate09/04/23 02:38 AM

I mean, yeah, if you sign the birth certificate and don't contest paternity, naturally you will be assumed to be the father. There are always exceptions and of course it depends on the jurisdiction. The law isn't the same everywhere. But in general, you cannot claim child support without establishing paternity unless paternity is uncontested. I'm not going to get into specifics on Reddit but i'm a lawyer and know what I'm talking about.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/04/23 02:10 AM

The other person with something to fear from a mandatory paternity test is any man that's trying to shirk his responsibilities as a father. You can't get court-ordered child support unless/until paternity is established. Hard to claim the kid isn't yours or pull a disappearing act when the test is mandatory at birth. 🥴🤷🏻‍♀️

huh? I'm just trying to understand your point (i'm technically underweight btw so this doesn't apply to me at all if that's what you're implying)
/r/PurplePillDebate31/03/23 01:09 AM
2

So you believe that, hypothetically, this overweight women's entire sense of self worth would come from the fact that she has an attractive partner? Like she has such low self-esteem that she needs an attractive partner to increase her worth in the eyes of society? Honestly i'm not being difficult i'm just not getting it
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/23 11:07 PM
2

Okay so what you're saying is being overweight is not a dealbreaker for you, but you want to ensure that this (hypothetical) overweight woman doesn't have a preference for fit/thin/attractive men? Why does this matter to you (I'm genuinely trying to understand)?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/23 09:36 PM

No, I could never dislike all men bc that's who I'm attracted to. Maybe i'm wrong, but I still believe it's only a small percentage of men that subscribe to the more extreme, misogynistic ideologies. But if I was dating someone and I found out that he was into TRP, even tangentially, I would breakup with him immediately.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/03/23 11:36 PM
17

Exactly this. It's called a scarcity mindset. I have a pattern of continuing to date men who have proven not to be a good match for me bc i'm so afraid that i won't find anyone else that i feel that level of attraction towards. When i like someone, i tend to give them too many chances. And i definitely don't have faith that the "perfect" man is out there somewhere. No one is perfect; everyone has flaws. Rather it's a question of what i can live with (and what i can't). I'd rather be alone than u…

I agree with your comment but just wanted to point out that he wasn't rich... I assume he made decent money at his job but he still lived with roommates, drove an older model car, had student loans, etc.

Correct. They didn't know about each other. BTW I didn't read the post before I answered. I've never heard of anyone having a "harem" like OP described.

I've met several men that admitted to doing this. I questioned one of them about it once and he was surprisingly open about it. He would date 2-4 women at once, seeing each one several times a month for sex. He met these women at bars, parties, social events or on dating apps; he didn't get involved with women in his friend group. And he didn't take them on formal dates after sleeping with them. If one of the women became too attached, clingy, wanted more, etc. he'd slow fade or ghost her. This …

Direct, honest communication (i.e. ask the question and explain why it matters to you). Don't lie about your intentions and be up front about your values and beliefs re: sex. It's not that complicated.

So you ply her with alcohol. Then you lie and manipulate her into being vulnerable with you. Then once she trusts you with this personal information about her sex life, you use it to cast judgment on her? Am i getting this right?? Any man who did that to me would not be in my life for long. Yikes.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/23 04:31 PM

Ah I see. That seems reasonable. I ask those questions re: cheating too but I guess I care less about the number of past partners and more about their attitude towards sex. An excessive number, like 100+, could be an indication that we view sex differently I suppose. But I wouldn't break up with someone over it.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/23 09:01 PM
13

No one has ever asked me! If they did, I would give them a ballpark number bc i've never actually counted. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Are there really men out there who go around asking women how many people they've slept with?? If so, how/when do you bring it up?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/23 08:53 PM
1

Yeah that's been my observation as well
/r/PurplePillDebate02/03/23 02:22 AM

Yes, as a single woman, it does make me more hesitant to date. And worried that I'll choose the "wrong" person to be vulnerable with. But that doesn't mean I want to give it up altogether; just be more careful who I spend my time with. Also, if you already have a partner, it's easy to say you "wouldn't date" if anything were to happen. Respectfully, however, you don't know how you'd feel if you were to spend an extended period of time alone. It's lonely.

I'm a single 33F and agree that many people in general (not just on this sub) haven't been single recently enough to know what it's like trying to navigate the post-COVID 19 dating scene. It's ROUGH out there for both men AND women (in different ways, obviously) and things have changed a lot in the past few years, probably for the worse. That said, I don't think it's that big of an issue on this sub, which is not dedicated solely to OLD or dating in general. There are lots of other subs for thos…

Well then he can call me in a few years after he's finished experimenting and figuring out what he likes/wants in a partner. Unless he's subscribed to RP beliefs, then I'll pass.

I just don't understand it. A desire for intimacy is human nature. It's fine to have values or beliefs that dictate when or with whom you have sex (i.e. no sex before marriage, love comes before sex, not having multiple sexual partners at the same time, etc.). But i wouldn't be compatible with someone who just doesn't prioritize relationships or intimacy for almost his entire adult life.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/23 09:24 PM

Honestly, it's just too much of a risk for a deadbeadroom situation. People don't change overnight. And if my other option is just as good, but has had a normal sex life and past relationships that have helped shape his views on intimacy, it doesn't make any sense to choose Tom.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/23 09:15 PM
3

And now all of a sudden he's willing to make time for a relationship? And he's had a normal sex drive this entire time but just... didn't want to have sex? I'd still have to choose Sam. It's too unbelievable that someone like Tom would suddenly shift his priorities and develop an interest in sex like that 🤷🏻‍♀️ Edit: Also i'm not a virgin and have a lot of relationship experience so I feel like I'd have a hard time relating to Tom.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/23 08:55 PM

Sam. I can't think of any acceptable explanation for Tom having made it to his early 30s without ever having sex or being in a relationship. Number of past sexual partners doesn't mean anything to me unless it's extreme (like 100+ or 0).

A potential partner being deaf would not affect my attraction to him whatsoever. And I'm very selective, FWIW.

They aren't just her kids. They're his kids too. And I think you overestimate the amount of government resources spent on "finding" deadbeat fathers who have disappeared. That's not really a thing. The woman is usually the one who "makes" the deadbeat pay by filing a lawsuit seeking child support and then, if necessary, petitioning the court to garnish the deadbeat's wages, but I digress. You just seem really intent on blaming the woman for being a single mother as if these hypothetical kids don…
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/23 03:55 PM

So you're saying that the mother should also abandon her children so that she, too, has nothing to "complain" about? Wouldn't that create an even larger financial burden on the government?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/23 04:24 AM

The whole point is that Chad should be paying to support his children. The problem isn't just the single mothers - it's the deadbeat fathers that have abandoned their families and are shirking their financial responsibilities towards their children. Why are we always demonizing the parent that stayed???

I think this is a bit extreme. FWIW, I am a woman (33F) and believe every person can have whatever standards/preferences that they want and shouldn't be shamed for it. If a man doesn't want to date me because I'm too old or have slept with too many people, that is his right. And if I only want to date men who are my height or taller, that is my right. The only time it crosses a line for me, personally, is when the person with the preference is obnoxious or rude about it (i.e. name-calling, stati…

That is not what I said. I'm talking about trauma responses. You can google it and will get a ton of results.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/12/22 01:26 PM
13

It depends on the particular person's trauma response. Fight, flight, freeze or fawn (or some combination thereof) are all legitimate, viable responses to fear. A woman who becomes aggressive may not feel any less threatened than a woman who retreats or acts nice to appease the man who approached her. Trauma responses have been studied extensively. Edit: I don't know if being snarky and rude would necessarily fall into the "fight" category, although I could see it being a form of aggression. My …

You keep asking the same question in response to the (solid) advice given by other commenters so i thought i'd chime in with an answer: No one here can guarantee that getting a job, a driver's license, a hobby, friends, etc. will "help you obtain a romantic relationship." But without any of those things, you're basically doomed to be alone in your parent's basement for the rest of your life. You can change your entire life within ~2 years if you want to. And yes, it will improve your chances of …

exactly! OP is saying that women can sleep with 100s of men, but how many women actually choose to do that? there are so many inherent risks involved and it's just not worth it for meaningless, unsatisfying sex imo. i only enjoy sex when there's a deep emotional connection, trust and some level of commitment. i know everyone is different but i also personally know many many women who don't really enjoy casual sex and are not actively seeking it out (quite the opposite in fact - they're looking f…
