I mean if it’s supposed to be funny then the joke is that slang isn’t English, which doesn’t make any sense linguistically and assumes a static language that has no basis in reality. Now one of the reasons to make that joke is to attempt to otherize the person talking. Since slang is common among the American Black community, it’s not a stretch to see your comments as an attempt to otherize Black people.

Having been punched and having punched people in the back of the head, the person hitting them is gonna hurt themselves a hell of a lot more than the person being hit. Literally any punch can cause a traumatic brain injury, but that last hit didn’t seem that bad to me.

This is one of the good things. I was able to make a call and have someone pick me up at 3 in the morning and able to find multiple places to crash the next day. My core group of friends have been super supportive and all of the guys in my unit have been great to me.

Luckily when I talked to the lawyer because of her work history it doesn't look like I will have to pay any alimony. I also talked to my unit and have kept them in the loop. I have some great NCO's that 100% have my back on this.

Thanks for that. My stepmom was a victim of really bad abuse and she has been saying a lot of what you guys have. I already seek counseling through the VA to deployment related issues so here is another to tack on. Her family has a history of mental health issues and she has consistently refused to seek counseling throughout our marriage.

That is what I have been doing. I already live in our residence and have cut off access to all of my accounts. We don't have kids so thank God. I have already met with a lawyer and he has given me some advice to take care of myself.
