I feel like instead of challenging her, maybe you should show that you listened to her original answer and ask her questions based off of that. To me, that is a much better option, as it shows that you are a good listener and also that you are accepting of her answer. If I felt judged or challenge, or if your tone implied that I didn’t answer the question correctly, and I was made to feel embarrassed or inadequate, I wouldn’t deal with you at all after that.
