Yes, they happen, especially with cold approaches and then they're not really designed to be beatable by anyone except maybe the top 5% smoothest men (so no shame in failing those). Apart from cold approaches there may be testing of your wittiness, but not all girls do this and some who do are very lenient. Finally you might have girls who are actually dating someone else or have a boyfriend who will tell you that but still flirt with you and can be persuaded but the question is if you should re…

I would say the key points would be: maintain your own SMV, improve it if possible, but never let it slip don't be a doormat to her: don't agree to things you wouldn't agree to if she was average-looking focus on things she found attractive about you specifically, especially if they're things few other men, especially high SMV men, can give her (like a very specific type of stimulating intellectual conversation) But in the end it's something that's not entirely within your control and you're jus…

How long does it take the average man (you and your friends) to find a gf? It takes me and some of my friends years, but if we were less picky about certain personality traits and/or were okay with fat women, then probably about six months. Seriously, the guys here saying it only takes them weeks must either have zero standards or look like Ryan Gosling. What's the longest dry spell you have had? Were you unhappy about it? Two years. I was sort of unhappy about it but then again I did reject som…

I don't know, I've found it fairly easy to find an attractive woman (who isn't batshit insane or a gold digger) who wants a relationship with me, the trouble is finding one I want a relationship with. So if I was an amoral RP man I would just fake relationships. But from what I've read here on PPD a lot of purple and red men seem to have more of the opposite problem...

The best way to get consistent sex is to develop an emotional bond and form a relationship. Actually the "best" way is to fake an emotional bond and a relationship, that takes out the compatibility requirement. It's amoral AF, but for a RP man that should not matter.

Part of the question is if you compare partners, it doesn't say this has to be during sex.

Women get more leeway because nature experiments less on them. There are fewer severely retarded women than men for example. But at some point the most low value women are selected against, through infertility, disease or because they're just too hideous/gross/weird.

How can you be cute and not romantically attractive? There are more women who like Harry Styles than there are women who like the Rock.

I'm not sure where I'd draw the line. I don't think it's flirting when it's just for tips or free drinks, especially if the other party is aware of the motive. But if it's for attention/validation, maybe, but it's a grey area, maybe it depends on if they find the other person attractive...

Non-American who lives in Western Europe, has lived in the US. Themes on PPD that seem Amerocentric to me: emphasis on women valueing a man's income, the idea that muscles can offset a weak face to a large degree, the sacred value placed on marriage over cohabitation, the idea that a man is already almost top 20% if he has a healthy BMI, all the stuff about uniquely American minorities and their cultures.

The only contradiction comes from your strawmanning. In the vast majority of cases it's not going to be as extreme as the guy nit even having seen a picture of the woman.

Enough of them are compatible (though whether the woman recognizes that is another story) that they still have an overall advantage. The myth that offers only come from desperate, incompatible men (and that this should somehow be unfair for women who are low value themselves) is not reality, it's more something women like to complain about, like you would complain that the traffic light is always red right when you get to this or that intersection. It's men who tend to only get offers from women…

Yup, I know a lot of women and only a handful of them have ever been single for more than six months where they didn't choose to "stay away from dating for a while". It's a very different story for the men I know, and no, they're not fat neckbeards. IME women vastly overestimate how successful at dating their brothers, male friends, colleagues, etc... are. They really believe relationships "just happen" all the time for guys who aren't Chad, and you see that reflected on PPD.

Nah, just going outside and turning off the bitchshield and looking up from her phone once in a while will do the trick, without the pump 'n' dump risk that comes from putting out more. I was going to suggest developing interests and learning how to have a conversation but now that I think about it women don't realky need these since male thirst is strong enough anyway.

You're strawmanning. The majority of women have men who aren't "awkward and ugly" who are interested in having a relationship with them and are willing to put in a lot of work to make that happen. The reverse simply isn't true: a fairly large percentage of men basically need the stars to align. The thing is women can sample from a larger age range, can afford to be more passive and can take advantage of serial monogamy more than men. The imbalance isn't nearly as bad as in online dating or the c…

For males only relative attractiveness matters because in nature makes are disposable and designed to compete. If through genetic engineering every man on the planet got a male model face then women on dating sites would still rate 80% of those men as below average. Also, I don't think the argument is that women are being unfair, it's that "men and women have it equally hard" is BS and that women are delusional and sabotaging their own happiness if they see anything less than a top-tier man as s…

The thing is that this does actually extend beyond just sex. It's easier for (young) women to get a relationship as well. And please don't start on how that's mathematically not possible because it actually is, for various reasons.

O yes, definitely! I lost 20 pounds, got some muscle (full body, not just arms, and nothing Arnoldesque) and a much better haircut, all within 1-2 years, and the difference is huge. People defer more to me, will step aside for me, I can dominate conversations easier, I was always good with words but now suddenly it's become easier to talk to female strangers but harder to talk to male strangers, meatheads will try to pick fights with me, married women have become friendlier and will stare at me,…

When raising a girl there is intervention required to make sure she'll be a woman men want a LTR with, not just use her for sex. It's not just daddy issues, she can't be a spoiled princess, or a naive high-n thrillseeker either.

Those guys are right: it is much easier unless you're content with landwhales, pardon my French... Normal/stable women don't have casual sex or only with Chad (and many will only have "relationships" with Chad too, until they're over 35). But to these guys that's a calculated risks and then it makes sense for them to warn each other and share tips on avoiding false rape a accusations.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/18 11:23 AM

Yeah well it's simple. Women overthink/project this stuff way too much, or they're scared to "lose" the Chad they deep down know isn't really interested in being serious with them.

It's not quite 80/20 when you're dating offline for relationships. But yeah, if you're not in the top 20% you will struggle, and take a long time, to find compatible women unless you have zero standards. It's doable, eventually, but it's an uphill battle.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/18 09:11 PM

Yes, but the prevalence of rape itself also gets exaggerated. And you know what, that's perfectly rational: getting raped or getting falsely accused of rape are catastrophic events so you'll want to cover yourself even if the chances of it happening are very small. Another thing I will say is that people seem to have a blindspot for crazy women: somehow we're all perfectly okay believing there are men crazy enough to rape but not that there are women crazy enough to falsely accuse someone of rap…

It doesn't matter who says it first and people shouldn't play mind games to begin with. It's exactly the same as asking for exclusivity: if a man freaks out because you say "I love you" one week "too early" then he wasn't that into you anyway. If you have doubts just rip off that band-aid, don't stay in the fuckzone.

The equivalent of what ape beta males do foe sex is more like prostitution and less like prison gays. Throughout much of history legal prostitution was the normal way for men to have some sexual experience before marriage or to get any experience at all for men who weren't deemed marriageable by women or women's families.

Yes, I'm used to running a household on my own anyway, not with kids, but I'm sure I'd want to take care of my kids. Also, young kids are by definition a minority of all kids so only a minority of SAHMs are taking care of young kids, the rest are relaxing while hubby slaves away at work or is being miserable stuck in traffic. Most men aren't like Archie Bunker you know. But of course there are limits: if she has excessive/obsessive cleanliness standards it's not fair for her to expect me to go a…

There's very little room at the top, so no, improvement doesn't do much for men in general, more normal improvements help a little, but nothing Earth shattering. And it's not like women can't improve: women who become more assertive or fun or more interesting for men to talk to will be able to attract slightly more attractive men than before.

First, it's hard to even read that chart and come to a conclusion because you have to compare the ratio of a man's attractiveness to his number of messages and then do the same thing for women, and then compare the numbers against each other. It's basically indecipherable for the purpose that you're trying to use it for. Jup, glad to see I'm not the only one who noticed this.

This is horseshiite. First these graphs don't show what you think they show, second this is OLD, not the real world and third, just look around you. I've had oneitis for a 6, some of my friends went even lower on the scale. Men in general have low standards, both for looks and personality/accomplishments/status.

It's true of all demands, not just physical ones. Demanding the other person has a car works exactly the same way. It's simply because women are in much higher demand than men in online dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/09/18 04:02 PM
2

This actually isn't about the "reptilian brain" at all. It's the result of a cost/benefit analysis a man will perform when faced with scarcity (online dating). Like the 80/20 principle it's an exaggeration of some much weaker effect in the offline world, caused by the artificial conditions (like having twice as many as women, for example) of online dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/09/18 02:39 PM

Really? The few I know just were always like that. In theory I can imagine a hot girl with low RMV going the path you described, or a girl from a third world country, but I think cat ladies or the women with bitchy negative profiles and impossible standards in online dating are the more natural equivalent of red pilled men.

They do speak to me directly, that's the point. It's not bluepilled thinking it's the truth: (the vast majority of) women like Ryan Gosling, not Arnold Schwarzenegger, and a little douchyness can get you somewhere but gymbro douchyness works against you.

Not BP, but I'll answer. I'm shredded but I haven't set foot in a gym in years. I do everything through dumbells, bodyweight stuff and bouldering (which is actualy a fun, challenging sport, instead of a grind I have to go through thinking it will get me more women). The most important reason I don't go to a gym (where it would be easier to use proper form and train hard to reach muscle groups with specialized machines) is because of the gymbros. For a man and a woman at the same physical attractiveness percentile (if you're better loking than 58% of your sex you're 59th percentile) it goes like this: the man has to work harder for sex the woman can have sex with hotter partners the woman and the man have almost equal chances of getting in a serious relationship, almost equal: the woman's chances are slightly better (this works out mathematically because good-looking men inclined to relationships spend much less time being single than av…

IMO Sara and Eric should go for it if it's really been years since Sara and Steve dated for a short while. You're absolutely right that for people over 30 it's rare to find someone you adore, if Eric and Sara don't realize that then you need to slap some sense into them. Though yeah, maybe going on vacations with Steve wouldn't become a bit weird (but it would also be weird if they took a another third wheel with them, so Steve being a distant ex isn't the primary concern here).

High N for a woman IS correlated with a decreased ability to pair bond sustainably. For the most part this isn't a causation (rather that women who had issues from the start are more likely to sleep around), but to some extent it is, especially when it comes to pair bonding with men in her own "league". She can probably still pair bond to Chad, but there aren't enough of those around. This causal part is similar to the view on men and porn: above average porn consumption can cause men to lose at…

Young, MC/UMC (and mostly white), extraverted girls who go outside a lot =/= all women. Women over 30 tend to be stressed out AF all the time, much more than the men. It's not so much liberalism as the idea that they should have it all or else they're failures, plus a lesser ability (comparrd to men) to not take criticism personally.

Yes, as practice/for fun (sometimes that's all she's in for anyway and if she made it clear some time before that she has a boyfriend it xan be relatively innocent), but I won't let anything happen if it comes to that, because that would go against my principles. This actually happens a lot to me but I don't have feelings for them anyway so it doesn't feel like missing out, plus casual sex doesn't do that much for me, so I get the same validation from knowing I could have slept with her as I wou…

Of course, I had to learn that many women were never going to be attracted to me no matter what I did and to accept this, but once I did accept this, then it was easier not to waste my time trying to attract certain types of women and to try to find the type who might be attracted to me. And some of us are not attracted to the types that are automatically attracted to us so we have to go beyond what comes automatically. Why exactly do women respond this way when a man says mean things in a smiling/funny/confident way? If you don't know about teasing and you were born in 1990 you might actually be a bit spergy (no offense). Anyway, teasing builds up tension and shows you're not a whimp, it's also simply fun to do. You settled for the first girl who came along and honestly it doesn't sound like she's compatible with you (and even objectively she's not exactly a great catch), you should have kept her as a FWB or ended it and moved on to a girl you have more in common with. You also shouldn't be talking to her about other girls you used to like, if she specifically asks you should always make it into a humourous story because girls have insecurities to and stacey widowers do exist.

Increase your exposure: make sure your life isn't a sausagefest (best done by having platonic female friends and going to lots of parties and social events, join a sports club, etc...) I would say that's the single most important thing at this stage. But in the end it's still partly dumb luck, so there are no guarantees.

Nope (but seriously, triple digits is very rare). I've known a lot of promiscuous women in my life and there hasn't been one I wanted to date even before I knew she was promiscuous. They just always have issues that cause the promiscuity. No, for young women it has spread beyond tinder/online. It's fashionable to want a guy who's at least 5 inches taller, or at least 6 feet tall, just like it was fashionable in the 80s to want a guy with a big mustache and a lot of chest hair. I notice it all the time: I get a lot more looks and attention than my shorter friends and less than my taller friends. Free speech is about protection from government persecution, not protection from a private company* deciding you violate their terms. Also, killallmen isn't a single account with a large audience, if it was it probably would be banned by many platforms. *Of course eventually a wider discussion needs to be had about the power of a handful of companies that basically act like public broadcasters and become too big to be competed against by smaller competitors, but that is another topic.

I think the idea of the premise comes from comparing reddit/trp male stemlords to all of women, which will obviously skew things, and also from rhe subjects discussed in the pillosphere, which tend to be harder to swallow for women, or be more accusatory of women, causing them to hamster more. One thing I will say though is that a lot of women say they're fine with it, or know examples of short guys who do fine, but then they're thinking of guys with male model faces, so it's a strawman.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/09/18 06:21 AM

Yeah, I also think young people are more lookist now than they used to be. Even 10 years ago I never heard girls demand a guy be at least 6 feet tall, while now even the short girls demand that (thank the gods I am 6 feet tall, but I still think it's ridiculous and counterproductive), or hear guys say they only want girls with perfect curves, tanned skin, and super-straight/styled hair.

girls don't think like this. Funny, I know plenty of women who think exactly like that. Even if they won't admit it their body language shows it.

I don't think the advice is for women to marry in their 20s but to lock down a long term partner to marry later, like the demographics with the lowest divorce rates actually do. Also, Western Europe can't easily be compared to the US because fewer people in Western Europe marry to begin with (they're not single, just not married).

Not RP, but I'll give my $0.02. It's the norm (though of course not 100%) among extroverted young women, which are a lot more common IRL (easily half of all women) than on reddit (something a lot of people here keep forgetting). Of course it comes and goes in phases (at any given time a portion of them are in relationships) and most of them are simply using sex to try to reel in a Chad, or are getting strung along by Chads, not actually enjoying the carousel. But unfortunately, TRP isn't entirel…

I actually thought guys do this too? A lot of guys with serious oneitis are into pretty average-looking girls. I get what you're saying, but no, I don't think those guys thought the girl "might as well be asexual" when they first met her, they just didn't think "daaaaamn!", but they didn't think she was actually ugly.

Attraction for girls is not an ON-OFF switch. For guys it is much simpler, but girls are way more emotional as you know. Having said that, IMO "red light" and "yellow light" are not strictly for external looks, but mainly about the way you make a girl feel. Yes, I recognize that. You can have these times where she becomes more attracted because you shared a moment or impressed her, and then if you don't capitalize on that quickly that attraction can decrease, and then increase again later, but a…

Yeah, this sounds like my experience and that of the people in my social circle. This is so alien to me: all the women my age or younger I know would quickly give their phonenumber to a guy if he was hot and charming enough, and this includes educated, low N, women too. The one exception has had a handsome boyfriend since forever and says she was attracted to him from the start even though it took a while before they started dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/18 09:52 PM

Yeah, that's what I suspected, but still, some of my friends are and I've known a lot of introverted women, and still nothing like the scenario in the OP... Now I'm not attracted to introverted women so I don't scrutinize them for signs of attraction, but they do seem to be disproportionally attracted to me, but I've never noticed that attraction developing over time.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/18 09:44 PM

For example a couple of years ago my female friend from uni invited me to a trip that started out as a yearly trip of guys that met on an online game (nerds all the way ...) Can you see how this makes me think it's not a mainstream thing at all?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/18 09:40 PM

That's an interesting observation... Maybe it really is just something that tends to happen to a relationship-focused subset of very young people... Then again I used to be like that and some of my friends paired off really young but AFAIK the attraction was always there really early on.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/18 09:37 PM

For serious relationships, definitely. Of course not for all men of all ages, but those would be the exceptions, just like women who select boyfriends based on looks.

Really? That's not how I would describe yellow light at all, that would be more like "yeah, I guess he's kinda cute, but let's see if he's not a douche and we have anything in common". But yeah, indifference applies here: the man would get no positive body language from her before, and supposedly after a year he would.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/18 09:20 PM
3

Well, not necessarily gross, just "meh", like "objectively he's not gross and maybe one of my friends would like him but he doesn't do anything for me", and not from one minute to the next, more like say, a year.

I think a better comparison would be who the women would give their phonenumbers to after a short conversation. Like how likely is it for a woman who would give her phonenumber to some men after a short conversation to become attracted enough to a man to date him when she would absolutely not have given her phonenumber to him after only a short conversation (where he wasn't overly creepy or weird, this goes without saying)?

It's a fantasy for some people since it's out of your hands. There's lots of people who grow old with a partner they truly love and loves them back, but there's also lots of people who don't and you can't know which of those you are until you've actually grown old.

The age gap can play a role, as well as women spending less time being single between relationships, also soft harems (all of Chad's sidepieces think they're in an exclusive relationship with him), and finally immigrants (men who come from countries with a demographic male surplus or from countries that send lots of male migrant workers). Even being a man and with the loaded form of this question (the casual partners are hot and the permanent partner isn't) I would choose #2. IME casual sex just doesn't compare to a real loving relationship and doesn't validate you unless your self-esteem was in the gutter to begin with. Ironically casual sex (with a non-repulsive woman) is easier for me to find than a relationship I could stand to be in for more than a week, so maybe that colors my view.

I'm a man (though I've never been to California), and yes, when I get a "freeze" it's mostly from young women. IMO it's definitely to ward off sexual advances because I notice different reactions when I display different body language, and in general I've been getting fewer "freezes" since I got in better a shape with a better haircut.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/18 09:04 AM

Yeah, this is exactly it: you can get away with shyness with some women if she's strongly physically attracted to you, but it's always better to not be shy.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/18 08:37 PM

Um, no. If a man can be overawed by something as simple as me I’d say he’s prob pretty useless. This attitude fucks over a lot of women if they don't give the man some leeway. If he truly cares about you chances are he's going to be overawed to some extent. Women who expect 100% confidence are setting themselves up for a never-ending stream of getting pumped and dumped.

I doubt she is on top, otherwise she'd need to be a pro-athlete. That's one way to solve this: make sex more tiresome for her like it is for her man (and men in general, on average) and she won't expect it 4-5 times a day anymore.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/18 06:58 AM

Her wanting it 4-5 times a day means she's either a clinical nympho or a very lazy person who's never tired from work, doesn't do sports, and is very passive in the bedroom. I mean fuck, there's nothing wrong with this guy's sexdrive if he has sex with her once a day, every day. When it comes to the heteros it seems there's always going to be some imperatives that are at odds or restricting to one sex or the other. Yes, but it feels good to complain and it's so much easier than introspection, add to that women's advantage in the SMP that they often mistakenly confuse with the RMP. Nothing you can do about that if you're a man, except be the best possible version of yourself and maintaining some standards for women as well.

You're a plate, probably one of several. Whether or not he's consciously using RP-methods doesn't matter, he's playing you and you should stop seeing him. Yeah, the example you gave of how you can just see when a player is being impatient and a little pushy (which the woman will of course see as "confidence" or "aloofness" if she finds him highly attractive) was instantly recognizable to me. There has only been a very, very short period in history, probably like 20-30 years from the 60s, where it was normal that women could sit on their asses all day doing crafts with her 2 children (household chores these days are really 2 hours max unless you live in a palace). I don't necessarily think every guy who lets loose with a bunch of compliments is just after a ONS. Most of them would be, but not all. Combined with other signs you can make a fairly accurate prediction. It's not 100% accurate, but it's pathetic and thirsty to hold out for the exception when there are millions of other men around. If there are young children in the house, the woman makes less money (per hour), and has a worse career outlook than the man I can see being a housewife making some practical sense. In any other circumstance it's an excuse to be lazy with all of today's modern appliances and services, doubly selfish because it forces the man to work more hours and see his children less than he otherwise could have. Niche Chads are a thing, I've been saying that for a long time. I think when you combine all types of niche Chads there are more of them than the more universal Chads (of course no single Chad appeals to 100% of all women, but some really are a lot more universal than others). The romantic/sex life of a niche Chad can be as awesome as that of a universal Chad or as mediocre as that of the average guy, depending on whether or not the subset of women that see him as Chad are his type in return.

Most of them are also countries where men don't really get a full say in who they marry, so I'm not sure men there get a better deal when they marry than Western men do. Would you say that women are naturally inclined to believe this fallacy because they naturally tend to look to top tier men and at the same time are kind of indifferen/oblivious to low and middle class men? This is part of it, another part of it is all human's innate interest in high status individuals, which is exacerbated by our culture (moreso in the US than in the rest of the West, but academic feminism mostly gets produced in the US and then exported to the rest of the West anyway).

The skinniness standards is the same in america as in europe or asia. No, people get desensitized: "chubby" really means something different in different countries. Jesus. So really scrawny low body fat guys. Probably lanky tall guys too. Yes and yes. She did like them tall and with handsome faces, so it's not like she's god's gift to the guys all the other women overlook, which sort of underscores your OP I guess.

Is that 1 in 20 wanting chubby girls or obese ones? To me they're fat (but maybe not medically obese), not just chubby, but I'm not American. You think that's rare? Though, studies do show that more muscle is better statistically for the most part usually but some women don't like it. I wasn't talking bodybuilders, I was saying a guy like Michael Phelps would be too muscular for her, she didn't even like guys who had a natural barrel chest.

Yes, men overestimate both the amount and the QUALITY of the sex other people are having, I made a similar thread a while ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/PurplePillDebate/comments/90g44t/cmv_male_echochambers_about_casual_sex_cause/

No, it's easily 1 in 20 men and I once knew a hot girl who only liked skinny guys: even a little muscle turned her off. But yeah, nobody really prefers an ugly face.

I'm not RP and I think men can bond with a woman through other things than sex (I know I can), but I can tell you that a man feeling sex is a necessary condition for love doesn't mean that sex causes love without the other conditions being met.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/18 03:22 PM

Yeah I wrote a comment about how it works with comparing 6/10s, 7/10s, and 8/10s but nobody has "preferences" for ugly features. I mostly agree with this, though there are some rare exceptions, like people who are especially sexually attracted to fat people.

If "low sexdrive" means hot sex, just once to twice a week I'm okay with that, if it means starfish sex, even if it's more often, then I'm not okay with that. Assuming you meant the first option I'd choose the attractive, low sexdrive woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/18 02:29 PM

So have I, occasionally, but I'm above average and hot women who are into me tend to have trash personalities so it's only partial validation. I guess you could compare that to how, for example, black people don't really feel validated when they're being fetishized.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/18 02:25 PM

Nope, that's looking at it from a female perspective. Men are different and (almost) all men want to have sex with women other than their partner, it's love that keeps him from acting on that desire it when his partner doesn't give him permission, but if she gave him permission he could do it and not love his partner any less for it. That's a major difference between most men and women and it goes to the heart of the OP.

Yeah, it really sucks. It's not like I buy them things or they use me as an emotional tampon, it's more that they use me an evening of "flirting" (but I'm pretty sure most would never allow anything to happen) or "conversation". I just crossed over into my 30s, so the number of single moms hasn't exploded yet (I don't live in the US). There is a change compared to my late 20s where women where talking to women who are 29-32 years old feels like a job interview, probably because of baby fever, all the fun is gone with them so I aim younger. Polygamy is a male imperative. This is RP 101. How can anyone claim a man can truly devote himself to a woman when it's his imperative to find other women. Almost all men can separate love and sex 100%. It's simply a fallacy to think a man doesn't love a woman if he wants to have sex with other women.

Firstly, in this thread there were numerous people who refused to accept that if a man approaches a woman she is facing more of a threat than if a woman approaches a man. Nobody is a threat in a public place. It gets scary when the man follows the woman while she walks home or something like that, and then it can be argued it gets equally scary for a man when a woman has her 5 cousins jump him while he walks home. If a hot girl I don't know invited me to her home to have sex I would definitely b…

A common issue for ugly people is that when they date people who are matched looks wise, either one or both people consider the other person as a placeholder as they try to branch swing and find a more attractive person to date. Married men are much happier than single men Yes, but you seem to be arguing that married men who have women on the side, with the permission of their wife, are less happy than men who have just the wife. In the scenario OP sketches the man has the emotional fulfilling relationship with a "main" woman and some sexual diversity with "side" women, I doubt this would make a man less happy, on average.

Do you agree that a relationship were the man has multiple women and the woman one man is the best relationship for a man? Yes, it's the male imperative. Do you agree that with RP advice the average man can become high value enough to get this kind of relationship? No, not a chance. There aren't enough women around who would put up with such an agreement with an average man.

Because they have more in common and are in proximity to each other, but if the woman were to suddenly lose her job or go work in some other, lower paid/status field she wouldn't become less attractive to the man.

What a lot of women don't seem to understand is that 1) most men really don't get validation and 2) women using men for validation is equivalent to men using women for sex: it's common, selfish, degrading, wastes time, causes bitterness/paranoia and rejecting it can cause a public scene or get the woman to start talking shit about you vehind your back. It won't affect the SMP much because most men won't maintain low body fat and lots of muscles and most couples meet when young. Also, I doubt treatments to delay a woman's skin sagging will be far behind treatments to really prevent/reverse baldness in men.

Fun fact 2: men don't care about "unreasonable body fat" or "constantly blow dried hair" nearly as much as you think and those girls could cut 50% of their exercise regime and still be just as attractive to men as they are now. Despite their incessant insistence to the contrary, the overwhelming majority of young women in the Western world are only attracted to the tallest, best-looking, most aggressive assholes. I think most older rich guys know what they're getting into. When men complain about golddiggers they usually mean women of their own age, or close to it, who pretended to be in love with them and then turned out to be golddiggers.

There sure as fuck are men like this too and my advice to women would be to avoid those men just the same. It's not a gendered thing in my mind, I was disagreeing with you saying these women are merely cautious.

Meaning she either didn't learn how to screen for the wrong guys or actually is more attracted to the wrong guys. Avoid women like this like the plague, and fuck what people would say about you not giving that "nice, but confused" girl a chance (spoiler alert: she won't be nice to you and she likely has a problem with taking responsibility for her actions and is also likely more attracted to guys like "that one guy" than to you). Only problem is there's so many of them so not every guy can afford to avoid these women without going full MGTOW, but if you can afford it then do.

If the resentment is because of something you're not giving them (attention/time/sex/a listening ear) you can fix it by giving them it, as long as they're reasonable people who won't keep demanding more. If the resentment is because either of you doesn't respect the other you can try to set new boundaries, stick up for yourself, use dread, etc... but most likely the relationship is doomed anyway.

This is too Amerocentric: condoms were freely distributed to soldiers in WW1 in continental Europe, in WW2 the Americans and British joined in this practice. There were Western countries where condoms were somewhat discretely available before 1960 and this must have had some effect on general Western culture, and therefore the US.

The pill mostly changed the birthrate for married/long term couples. This was huge, but gender relations had been changing under pressure of latex condoms and the events of the world wars, the suffragette movements in Western countries, second wave feminism, the gay rights movement, the counter culture, urbanization, automation (allowing more white collar jobs), and many more influences.

That's what Tinder is for women looking for casual sex: a menu where she can order out of her league dick for free, while lying on the couch in her sweatpants, and all she has to do is swipe right: the dick will handle the introductions and logistics. There are many options on the menu with their own pros and cons. She could have slept with an ex like she did before and have good sex, but she wanted to experience something new, something better looking and more cocky, the tradeoff is that a guy …

BUT the messy petty part of me does enjoy the thought of guys who are intentionally lazy/uncaring in bed getting their shit called out. The woman literally ordered a dick who's out of her league off an app, made the guy work a bit for it too, but somehow he's the only lazy person in this story?

It IS true of many review-based apps. For Tinder it would only be worse because of the lower volume, more emotion being involved, and the rated can give the ratee a rating back in response.

When it comes to the basics BP advice is not much different to TRP: become fit, masculine, funny, cool, interesting and develop boundaries. You don't have to be redpilled to believe in those things, but they already emphasize superficial qualities and the link goes further than the things you list, including some things many people would call sexist, so I'm hesitant to call them blue pill or mainstream.

I can only think of cons, for both the men and the women. The woman from the story was pumped and dumped by some cocky douchebro who was out of her league, that should be a life lesson, not something people should be coddled against. Also, if you're still on tinder in 2018 the joke's on you.

Really? Why wouldn't you teach young girls that your self-esteem and womanhood doesn't and shouldn't depend on whether you have children. We have a responsibility to prepare children for life. We force them to learn math and we try to slowly guide them away from the idea that they can all be professional sports players, astronauts or celebrities. Teaching girls the realities of fertility and that it doesn't mean you're not ambitious or smart if you want to have children young (and then a career)…

But really, i never had a social relationship of any kind that will not be tied to something. This could be money, contacts, interest, knowledge, loneliness, low SMV from the other part. By labelling a friendship that's built on common interests or companionship as "transactional" you've created an impossible standard of non-transactional "true" friendship. No wonder you never see a friendship around you that's "true" friendship in your eyes.

A below-replacement level fertility rate will slightly affect the availability of younger women (in the average couple the man is 2-3 years older), but that's overshadowed by serial monogamy, men with side chicks and even just men who are single for shorter-than-average periods in between relationships. I actually think playing hard to get doesn't work all that well on "beta" men. They're just going to think the woman isn't interested. Playing hard to get will get the woman a disproportionate amount of stalkers and players: most betas have encountered their fair share of teases and attention whores and don't have the (over)confidence to think "it's different this time", they're not going to enthousiastically chase after a woman who makes it hard for them and appears like she's not interested.

Most men don't see niceness in a girl as a negative, and the more traditional men actually love a nice girl. The idea that the majority of men only chase after crazy BPD chicks is bullshit (at least for LTRs). All I'm saying is that even if you tell a woman something as innocent as that you're using protein powder, they'll often see it as akin to you doping/faking to play with the big ("natural") boys. You do realize that even if only 10% of women prefer a Channing Tatum over a Jared Leto then Magic Mike could still make a huge profit. There are hundreds of millions of women in the Western world alone, remember. Now I'm not saying it's 10/90, in fact it's probably more like 60/40, in favor of Chris or Channing, but even if it's 90/10, that 10% still leaves a huge number of women. I think more women get to have a "slut phase" than men get to have their "manwhore phase". I don't think so. The difference is that for men the casual partners will be less physically attractive than their girlfriends and wives while for women it's the reverse.

I don't live in the US, but when I was on tinder I used to regularly come across girls I knew IRL (I think there was about a 1 in 3 chance of me coming across a single girl I knew IRL), and others told me they had tried it. Combine that with the fact that I swiped on many thousands of profiles in a matter of months in an area that has a population of less than half a million. And of course the other similar apps will add some numbers as well. Yes, it's bigger in cities, and cities house a majori…

What a lot of men miss here is this: outside of tradcon religious circles, most women these days won’t call another woman a whore/slut just for sleeping with a lot of men. She’s call her a slut for sleeping with men who are married or in relationships. I think this where historically a lot of women’s opposition to prostitution came from, the fear that it might be my husband or bf. This is part of it, but I think it's more general than that. I think a lot of women are (even if it's subconsciously…

I don't remember ever hearing things like "he has to be at least 6' tall", while I do hear that now. I don't believe women take male attention from tinder very seriously, but I do believe tinder has, on average, warped women's perception of how common certain traits are. There is also a phenomenon whereby men prefer "sexual" looking women for short term casual sex, and "less sexual" ones for a long term commitment. This sounds like a no true Scotsman thing to me. Even if true it would mean the majority of women have that floundering self-esteem so it's unrealistic to look for one without it anyway. 1/3rd of porn consumption is actually by women, that's a lot considering most porn is made with straight male viewers in mind. As a man I think OP's premise is true for some women (which already raises the average expectation). For other women it's more subtle and indirect. What I believe happens is that these women don't really value "cheap attention", but they do get a skewed sense of how common certain desirable traits are and that increases their expectations. Even women who are immune to that may raise their expectations because they see other women around them have higher expectations. A good example is the "he ha…

I'm not even redpilled and even I think it's not the same as with women because: 1) men generally have a lower threshold for "hot" or "fuckable" than women 2) when girls don't get chased it's often because they're shy, awkward, unapproachable and don't put themselves out there, not because men find them sexually repulsive 3) for most men respect and love are entirely separate from sexual attraction. A woman might see a man she settled for as a weak dweeb she can't truly respect like she could so…

Yes. But it's more about people (men and women) empathizing with women of all ages and looks and protecting them than it is about men doing favors for attractive women. Of course this is actually detrimental for the most ambitious women (they get taken less seriously).

i don't know what you mean by "players" or top 20% guys but yes that's who i had in mind. Meaning it doesn't apply to the majority of men and is therefore useless to the majority of women because they can't get the top men anyway, meaning it's shitty advice to give to a random woman.

A minority of men, likely more traditional and good-looking than the average man. They're exceptions, just like there are women who like to chase. Also, "easy" here doesn't mean she'll jump a man's bones in the first second, it just means no pointless (and with the potential to backfire on her) mind games, along with body language that's congruent with her true feelings and her simply accepting a date with no ambiguity.

I mean, people would literally have the choice of having the girl or the guy (assuming a straight relationship) being the stayathome, yeah? Not really, because of the physical effects of childbirth. The mother has to take leave anyway, probably several weeks, so most couples who aren't filthy rich would use the paid parental leave for the woman IMO.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/18 05:49 PM

Lots of men won't consider "easy" girls for relationships. Requiring some effort on his part may keep her out of the fuckzone. That is what women are taught, and is probably an effect of women projecting their own thinking onto men, but it's not true. It's the other way around: low quality women are "easier", because they have to be, or because they have mental issues. Because of this men might initially be suspicious ("she must be good at hiding her crazy") when a seemingly high quality woman i…

No, in this scenario some men would have multiple backup women and some men would have none at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/18 01:15 PM

It would only be a choice in name, might be good politics for some demographics but it's not effective statesmanship. According to the Dutch government their 4 month paid maternity costs 0.15% of GDP. I figure expecting fathers make a bit more money on average than expecting mothers so paternity leave would cost under 0.2% of GDP. The Netherlands isn't an outlier in terms of income distribution or fertility rate so I figure it would be much the same for most Western countries.

I don't know about (long term) stability, but I'd guess that being a drama queen makes them less attractive and dramatic players are successful despite, not because of, that and would need to have better looks and charisma to overcome that.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/18 11:39 AM
1

If it's only available for one parent it's going to be taken by the mother because she has to go through the physical trauma of giving birth and then you're back at women with children making less money and fathers not getting a real choice to spend time with their newborn... It also would cost less than 0,2% of GDP in most Western countries and might boost birth rates a little.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/18 10:46 AM

I don't believe every woman has lots of backup guys, or even wants them. But mathematically it's certainly possible to have some men lose out but none of the women if the top men are single are alone for shorter periods than the average woman. You could also add age to this: there are more suitors for young women than there are young women and this is balanced out by an abundance of older women.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/18 10:39 AM
2

All developed countries except for the US do have paid maternity leave. But what you really need for equal opportunities is paid parental leave, so not just for the mother, otherwise businesses will discriminate against women, but also (and this tends to be glossed over) because fathers (or lesbian co-moms) should have the same right to access to their newborn child. It has to be tax-funded because otherwise small businesses won't hire young people anymore.

So wait a minute, why are we seeing not getting free government money for being a SAHM as "limiting women's choices"? Also why aren't we mentioning the fact that this system gives fathers the choice to see their children more? The way I see it this is what feminism should be: the same obligations and choices for men and women.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/18 09:48 AM

Why did you include "tempestuous" and "quick to overreaction"? I would think this just makes men come across as drama queens and makes them less attractive to women.

The Economist concluded the adjusted pay gap was negligible in the Western countries they looked at. You have to remember that whatever pay gap remains after adjustment is still influenced by factors that couldn't be measured (like willingness to negotiate pay) and is skewed by a small number of highly paid jobs which is only relevant to the most privileged 1% of the population. The "nice guy" scenario has happened to me in reverse with the girl spontaneously "confessing" after a year of friendship and then getting bitter when I turned her down. beautiful working class women rarely remain working class in their life due to their marrying up. This isn't the 1950s anymore... Sure if they're 9-10/10s they could snag a white collar provider but most educated men these days aren't jumping at the opportunity to marry a 6/10 waitress.

I'm sure there's some correlation, but this is a heavily internet/nerd-culture biased OP. In real life douchy assholes are more common than aspies. Douchy assholes have difficulty attracting male friends who aren't also douchy assholes but they can attract women. Inversely men who aren't aspies but are just very friendly and mellow can easily attract sociable male friends but may still struggle to attract women because there's nothing particularly attractive about them.

A guy who doesn't lovebomb or come on really strong doesn't have low self-esteem, he has normal self-esteem (he could very well be highly confident in every other aspect of his life). There are decently reliable ways and you could always ask more experienced women or male friends for a second opinion too. It's just that learning these reliable ways may reveal some uncomfortable truths about yourself or the men you choose/interact with so many women choose not to open that can of worms.
