Thanks Captain Pedantic.

Why did you let her stop working before you were married? Did you have the child after you two moved in and before you got married? If there was a long gap between her ending her full time work and having the child, why did you provide for her without expecting her to carry her own weight like an adult?
/r/MensRights07/08/14 05:15 PM

Sounds like bullshit on her part, she nailed a provider's gravy train.

Is this what you are referring to? "The weird lesson for men who have group sex in bathrooms: Film it on your cell phone. A five-minute video of the sex, which one of the men gave the cops, apparently persuaded the 18-year-old to take back her original story. At another moment, such a video might have gotten the guys in trouble for making porn and for sexting. But this time, it seems to have saved them." http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/jurisprudence/2009/09/smeary_lines.html

In no way should this be a law that has criminal repercussions, that would be inane. Unless of course an unaware partner is knowingly exposed to and infected by HIV (or another STD/STI) because of their cheating partner and it was proven. Which I'm sure is already in some way on the books. She's just being irrational and speaking from her own anecdotal perspective.

I was explicitly making a link to rape or completely agreeing with OP's source. Just saying that her conditions for consent didn't really change, one party was clearly dishonest when obtaining consent. And it looks like the end of my post was cut off... She's talking about a man that cheated on her but she doesn't really say that only men should be punished. as far a I can tell from the linked content
/r/MensRights06/06/13 04:34 PM

Well you have to agree that it would be nice if a spouse was caught cheating while married that would put them at a real disadvantage in divorce proceedings.

Agreed.

Wasn't a man charged with rape for sabotaging a condom? If feminists want to push that, we should just turn that insane doubt edged sword back on them and see how quickly they backtrack.
/r/MensRights06/06/13 01:52 PM

I wasn't saying it was, at best it's grounds to simply break up with the person and move on. But in marriage cheating used to be a crime and grounds for divorce. It's not anymore thanks to no-fault laws, but it would be nice to bring that back. Of course only if it was applied universally and equally. But what I was really asking (in another comment) for answer to is where does she explicitly say that only male infidelity be punished by law?
/r/MensRights06/06/13 01:49 PM

While I'm not trying excuse crazy feminists is there really that much wrong with this form of "consent"? I mean, if a man consents to sex with the understanding that the women is on birthcontrol, but she really isn't. Is that very similar to this? edit: I am not saying this is rape, stop putting words in my mouth.
/r/MensRights06/06/13 01:37 PM

Well she isn't really retroactively removing consent, since her "consent" was based on no other partners. Where does she explicitly say only men can be punished? She's talking about a man that cheated on her but she doesn't really

He has had two kids while in long term relationships. I don't think anyone would consider that wild and reckless behavior. First relationship ended when it turned out she cheated on him and committed fraud on the paternity on a child. And the current one seems very healthy and committed as they are married.
/r/MensRights10/04/13 06:32 PM

Yes, because he had two children with a women that he was in a long term relationship who already had one child to another father. He did his best to be as great of a father as he could... then he found out that his first child (the middle one) wasn't ever really his biological child. Then he separated from this women and remained a constant presence/father for all of his children. I'm not suggesting hitting anyone, but you shouldn't cow down and take it simply because it is a female that's beating on you. Just take gender out of the equation, and react accordingly...
/r/MensRights09/10/12 05:09 PM

many women hit men because they believe we will never hit back. If you remove that impetus for them to hit first, they may stop hitting... or at least know that just because they are female they aren't immune to someone defending themselves.

That seems like the best way to go, since you have no say in the planning you shouldn't be subject to her planning whims. Contribute what you initially agreed to, she shouldn't be writing checks she can't cash.

For the bar mitzvah were you involved in the planning?
/r/MensRights19/06/12 07:40 PM

Well that's why i suggested bonds, stocks, or a cd. A cash gift that's not completely liquid for his future that can't be easily spent and is only in the child's name.
/r/MensRights19/06/12 07:39 PM

4 figures for a party for a 13 year old (for half or less then half of a party) is a lot of money. Not to mention this figure is in UK Pounds. That's a lot of money to give to his ex-wife for a party I'm pretty sure he had ZERO influence on planning (read budgeting costs for). If he doesn't have fair/equal access to his child why should he be dictated to. He's there for his child for for his ex-wife.
/r/MensRights19/06/12 07:37 PM

parties like this are more often about the parent not the child though.
/r/MensRights19/06/12 07:21 PM

I would second this, if the mother doesn't play well with others and well X,XXX is a lot of money to give to someone you don't completely trust and get along with. Why not just give X,XXX directly to your son, i'm sure he'll be much more thankful for that then for some bullshit party. Maybe in the form of bonds, stocks, or a cd.
/r/MensRights19/06/12 07:20 PM

He's not saying hit her, but making sure she knows she can't get away with shit like that. Maybe he restate what he said but from the rest of what he says he doesn't seem to be advocating hitting her back. Just that she doesn't get a free pass to hit you just for being female.

The best thing you can do, is document all instances and find and cite the sexual harassment material in their employee covenant agreement and then approach HR. If these persons who are touching you without permission are in a position of power over you, approaching HR is the better way to go as it's the least confrontational method to resolve this. It's call communication try it. If you feel bad that he's paying for the entire date, and the only reason why is because you are flat out broke I doubt any dude would take issue with that.
/r/MensRights14/02/12 09:16 PM

| I'm going out with him because he wants to take me out. Interesting choice of words, not because you like him or enjoy his company?
/r/MensRights14/02/12 09:12 PM

So you honestly think, if a guy asked you out to dinner at Ruby Tuesday's that he expect you to cook the steak for him? The only case where any guy would (innocently) assume you would cook for them is if you invited them over to have dinner at your apartment or home. But it would be equally possible that you could be ordering in.
/r/MensRights14/02/12 09:09 PM

I still don't see how that relates. How would he expect you cook dinner on a date?
/r/MensRights14/02/12 09:00 PM

I think it's reasonable to point out that you're asking for relationship advice more then you're seeking advice on a rights issue and that this isn't really the right space for such questions.
