People have to stop overusing the word problematic. It’s at best a placeholder for before you’ve actually understood a specific problem, and it makes it sound like you haven’t.

no, there is a difference between law/med students and lawyers and doctors. In no way did I contradict myself. If you hold yourself to such a low standard that false statements are "close enough" to being true I pity you. Funny you mention emotions and then don't see how "most lawyers are doctors are women" is a false statement because its falsity has nothing to do with emotion. It is fact, and facts famously do not care about your feelings.

It's an interesting hypothesis to me. Like any eugenic hypothesis, rapid implementation would very likely lead to disaster due to unforeseen effects - and separate from the disastrously likely failure of the policy, would be the likely atrocities that accompany implementation.

Feminist-skeptical Man: I am trying to improve myself but there are many complex forces at work that shape my self-image and behavior. Feminist: We have already done all the work for you! We have told you all the ways men are bad and problematic. So just stop doing those things and being that way! FSM: Seems like you just are parroting stuff from twitter that made you feel good and didn't actually do any work or thinking. Now you want me to live my life according to a code of what not to do. If …

Whether or not the source of their distress is accurate or reasonable is different from the magnitude of their distress.

The project of deciding who is more oppressed, if it is to have any legitimacy, has to be part of the larger project of trying to measure human wellbeing. It's hard to deny that the ultimate arbiter of wellbeing must be the individual evaluating their own life. You can see in the genre of blues and the slave songs that it emerged from, enslaved and recently emancipated African-Americans felt themselves very poorly indeed. I would be curious to know how the average Victorian woman weighed her own…

Come on guys, no need to be so dramatic. It's an example of progress toward "gender equity" (or equality for the uninformed), because the economic profession is still utterly dominated by men.

I think that his point is that if you find someone who you can get along with for that long, that is incredibly rare, and romance is likely almost a given if that criterion is met.
