Sure but the US is a serious, developed country. It’s surprising. Our version of the draft ended over 60 years ago so it seems mental to us.

Wait, the US still has a draft?? That’s absolutely mental

Can I ask, what on earth is all this red pill stuff? I realise it references the Matrix (?) but I don’t get exactly what it means in regards to somebody’s political position?

A similar issue I have is that I’m politically left wing (both socially and economically) but I’m also patriotic and support the monarchy. I got banned from multiple left wing subs for this. A thing a big issue the left has is inflexibility. The right are more than willing to compromise and cobble together. But us on the left mostly have good intentions but attack each other very hatefully if there is any sniff of someone not exactly matching our ideology.

Thank you for your post and thank you for your empathy and kindness in being able to see the harm that misandry can cause. I have severe mental health issues, and my mental health was harmed by a lot of the misandry around the Harvey Weinstein scandal. I obviously abhor Weinstein and what he did, and I found it very hurtful to be repeatedly labeled as a rapist because I share genitalia with him. I ended up having some thoughts similar to what you described feeling, thinking that women hate us, t…

u/analconda69 to answer you as well… Iirc, and don’t hold me to this, he made some bid to take over the sub in some authoritarian style stunt. I always followed his content on Instagram and he was one of the early people getting me interested in male advocacy, but his behaviour here was very bad and very arrogant, imo. He literally tried to take down the sub when he didn’t get his way. It was quite a long time ago though so I don’t remember too well and I’m happy to be corrected.

100%, I completely agree with everything you said here. Advising caution is undoubtedly a good idea, all the rest is just crazy. I also think people are so weird about what other people do sexually. Like, who cares if others want to have kinky sex, so long as they both consent and no-one is harmed. But that's another topic haha

I always think it's sexist against women to assume that adult women are too stupid to make their own decision if a man is right for them or not. Women are more than capable of deciding if they're happy and comfortable with a situation, without other women calling it grooming or whatever without any real knowledge of the relationship or situation.

I certainly consider myself a feminist, but I also care about men's rights and speak up for both women's AND men's rights when I get the chance. Feminists who understand that we're both in this together do certainly exist. The issue is that social media radicalises people. Unfortunately we've got a generation of people who see the most extreme ends of everything and therefore end up with extreme opinions.

100% this. Me and my partner have been together 10 years, since we were kids. We wouldn't have lasted a year if we'd listened to even a fraction of the horrendous advice you get on this sub.

Hold on, could someone explain to me what all this pink pill, purple pill, red pill stuff is? I assume it's some reference to The Matrix?

The head mod only just started lol. They’re moderating perfectly fine. TinMen just saw his opportunity. Also, if he felt this was an issue, he should have brought it up directly with the head mod in an empathetic manner rather than going around gossiping and only taking the mask off when he was caught

Have you seen all the evidence against him? All the screenshots? Sorry buddy but he’s definitely just stirring up trouble. He was one of my heroes too but when facts are right in front of me, I look at them

The mods did remove him. Have a look in these comments for the head mod’s comment. They put in loads of links about their reasoning including a screenshot of TinMen’s Discord conversation with the head mod. It seems very clear to me that TinMen made a grab for power and, when it failed, tried to bring down the whole sub. Of course, make your own mind up on it :) Edit: Here is a link to the Head mod’s comment https://www.reddit.com/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates/comments/153yb4b/thetinmen_is_leaving_rle…

Calling a person lazy and negligent because they’ve suffered with mental health issues and is getting treatment is beyond awful. Isn’t that a big part of what we’re campaigning against? Never look too closely at your heroes, I guess...

Ironically, TinMen is being the totalitarian here. He was caught playing political games and has quit the sub in a hissy fit to try and bring it down with him.

In fairness, you’ve clearly done this to stir up trouble rather than simply to explain. Otherwise you’d respond to the questions in the comments rather than just your supporters

I agree, but ultimately TinMen doesn’t care about the sub. He’s encouraging others to boycott it entirely elsewhere. He only cares about the sub if he has a chance of being in charge of it

You don’t seem to care about this community very much at all, George, given that you’ve essentially made a Boris Johnson-esque grasp for power and then jumped ship after being exposed. You were removed as mod for demanding that other mods be removed and subtly trying to create doubt over the current head mod. I’m afraid this is a perfectly normal thing to remove you over. If you had apologised and explained, perhaps things would have been okay. Instead you threw your toys out of the pram and are…

Judging by all of this, I highly doubt he’d accept. That being said, what did it look like?

I feel exactly the same. When I first saw this sub, I thought it was going to be about communicating with each other, to help people who are different to understand. But 95% of this sub are women who hate all men and men who think all women are evil. A human being is a human being, regardless of gender. And we’re much more alike than people on this sub think. I’ve hung around so far because I want to help people bridge their differences, but I’ve realized that this isn’t possible. 95% of people …

I hate this whole hypergamy thing. People of both genders will always go for the people they are most attracted to. This is normal and right. These complaints about hypergamy are borderline incel stuff, they are just jealous of other guys getting more women than they do and want to blame it on something. Nobody wants to date a loser, we all want people who we respect, who can push us and inspire us to be the best we can be in our own lives. There’s nothing wrong with that at all.

It’s not about what she did in the past, it’s about the value she’s putting on him now. It’s kind of like giving your grandkids a fiver every week, and then suddenly lowering that to a pound — it’s irrational, but they’re going to be upset. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with experimenting sexually. I also don’t think you should have to lie about it. It doesn’t matter how many men you’ve had sex with, how long ago it was, or why you did it. If you want the relationship you have now to be m…

Yeah this is exactly it. The problem could have been completely avoided if she had been more sensitive to him in this scenario. Obviously you’d be upset if you’re being treated like less than her ex-partners, even if that isn’t representative of how it really is.

Maybe Facebook has single-handedly led to the bonbon addiction of the entire female population lol. Honestly though I disagree with the entire premise of this post. My experience is a bit atypical in that we have been together since age 13 and are now in our twenties, but I still really struggle with the idea that people either ‘enjoy’ or don’t enjoy relationships. What is there to not enjoy about spending time with the funniest and most exciting person you know? If you don’t ‘enjoy’ your relati…

Pretty much. I actually find it surprising you’ve never experienced this, in a relationship or not. Have you ever had flatmates that just refuse to do anything except scroll Facebook or play video games? I reread your initial post and I can see that I misunderstood you, sorry.

That’s exactly how I feel. How can you respect someone, of either gender, if they rely on other people to support themselves?

All men don’t do 100% of work in all relationships, but a lot of men do. Just like a lot of women do too. Both sides are wrong but both sides happen.

I’m really sorry that this is your experience. I’m a male and I’m honestly shocked that some guys above the age of 20 do this. First of all, looks are subjective so don’t put yourself down like that. Someone out there is looking for someone just like you. Second, there are lots of good guys out there. I hope you find the right person.

I don’t live in the US but my dad literally does everything around the house and works more hours. My own relationship is equal, we live together and we both do a fair share of everything and we’re both happy with what the other does. There are some things I hate doing that she does for me, and some things she hates doing that I do for her. You shouldn’t let a guy treat you like that — your time is just as valuable as his. Every relationship differs, it just depends on the people in that relatio…
