I think the lack of self-awareness in feminism is amazing I don't think that any of us is so hubristic and victim-obsessed that we think that men don't have some privileges AHAHAHAHA the irony of it all
/r/MensRights07/06/13 05:19 AM
4

Um, well I was about to write something about people mixing up their words on accident, you know like patriarchy being synonymous with men.... You'd have to be an idiot or an MRA (same difference) to fuck up that distinction though.
/r/MensRights05/06/13 08:06 PM
21

Women are more likely to consume and buy, so it only follows that Feminism suits this mindset. All women = feminists. MRA logic. But I guess if you irrationally hate both, it's just easier to group them together.

It's because of people like SJW who immediately shoot whatever the movement says down. No, it's because your movement is one of hate that says awful sexist, racist, transphobic and homophobic shit. Feminism is such a circlejerk it is extremely difficult to oppose it. Feminism is historically and currently a very non-cohesive theory and movement with varying ideas on a variety of subjects. To say that it is a "circle jerk" is willful ignorance. Any hivemind will immediately shoot down most ideas,…

Second, what exactly makes the MRAs dumb? There's actually a few subreddits dedicated to it, but in the interests of alleged MRA dedication to freedom of speech, I'm not allowed to link to them :/! In short though, it's a movement bitching about feminism and women in general, instead of actual men's issues and refuses to actually engage in realistic activism beyond sending threatening messages to Anita Sarkeesian
/r/MensRights01/06/13 04:24 PM

Clearly, but this was already demonstrated by me not being a MRA.

/r/MensRights01/06/13 07:52 AM

Nope, it's neither of those. It's because she talks about feminism with authority despite knowing shit all about it. That's literally all it is.

Maybe the ones she owned were in the pile. Maybe they were. What, exactly, is your fucking point here?

I'm a gamer. I love gaming. I don't own every game though or even every system. What kind of argument are you trying to make anyways?

No, it's her lack of knowledge.

That video does not seem to be particularly relevant to anyone's point in opposition to your own, so I'm not sure why you posted it. Freedom is speech is lovely. I get it. You don't have to give a shit because I think posting pictures of dead people or children with semen on them is fucking disgusting and weird. I get that too. Rather we're questioning the validity and value of such expression. Nothing is gained except creeping people out, and ruining your own reputation for the sake of what? Of…

Welcome to the Men's Rights Movements, where the grievances are made up and minorities don't matter!
/r/MensRights28/05/13 08:26 PM

I don't think that's what she meant. I feel like she was implying that allowing women to enter workforces where they aren't typically prominent allows them to provide an other equally valuable perspective to that of a man's.
/r/MensRights28/05/13 03:33 AM
-1

No, it's more that I have an actual job to do and don't have the time to sort through the legitimate responses and the horseshit ignorant MRA trolling I've gotten between three or four posts on this board. Not to mention being able to post every 8 minutes doesn't help when I DO have the time. Please have patience :)!

Not what I said. I said they will continue to not use it until they get over their shame.

It was not being used enough to receive funding. Fact. End of story.
/r/MensRights23/05/13 05:51 AM
-5

Because he was not funded by the government. Because the government doesn't want to fund something that only helps twenty people over a three year period. My point stands. Comparatively, women's shelters combined in Alberta helped nearly 1300 women and 1500 children EACH DAY in 2012 Source : http://www.acws.ca/sites/default/files/AB%20Data%20Count%202012.pdf
/r/MensRights23/05/13 05:34 AM
1

Who ever said men don't encounter harmful gender stereotypes? Nobody?
/r/MensRights23/05/13 05:02 AM
-3

The big problem is not that the shelter was shut down, but that it had very few visitors. That's not to say that there are no male victims of domestic violence, clearly. Rather, these victims are shamed and would shy away from such an institution given toxic masculine cultural constructs that make it undesirable for a man to be considered weaker than women. Before men's shelters can help, men need to understand that it's okay to SEEK help.
/r/MensRights23/05/13 04:51 AM
-3

Please show me feminist sponsored studies that demonstrate that men are not victims of domestic violence, please and thank you :)! Please show me the feminist sponsored studies that demonstrate that women are not perpetrators of domestic violence, please and thank you :)! Please show me that you're more concerned about correcting violence committed against men (and women too, if you're the egalitarian I imagine you pretend to be) than you are about turning actual issues with actual victims into …

Yes, we live in a patriarchal society but I don't think the illegality of murder is what prevents it from happening.

WHY DOES EVERYONE THINK MRAS ARE HATEFUL????????
/r/MensRights22/05/13 09:57 PM
4

First off, I'm a dude and I'm on your side. I really wish you'd understand that I'm trying to show you that the MRM is never ever going to amount to anything more than a hate movement so long as it exists purely as reactionary to feminism. Your demonization of me as a "whore", an inappropriate word given the MRA goal of stamping out male prostitution BTW, only serves to show that you're not interested in actually solving male issues. Instead, you'd rather cry and wail about a female bogeyman cal…
/r/MensRights22/05/13 02:10 PM
1

So what he meant to say is exactly what he didn't say at all? Interesting.
/r/MensRights22/05/13 02:05 PM
5

I'm saying there are simply more factors than gender oppression when discussing the issues of body shaming, and regardless of what they are they affect everyone not just women as the person I responded to implied feminists believe, which they do not. My response to you was hardly ad hominem. You represented feminism falsely and I suggested you actually educate yourself on what feminist theory says instead of just making assumptions based on hearsay.
/r/MensRights22/05/13 05:39 AM
1

I would not agree with your assertion at all in regards to prevailing feminist positions given its lack of accounting for intersectionality and thus your obvious ignorance to actual feminist theory.
/r/MensRights22/05/13 05:24 AM
38

No feminist ever said that.
/r/MensRights21/05/13 07:38 PM
13

I'm implying it's pointless and unnecessary bait that isn't really making any sort of argument that either aids MRAs or refutes feminism. This article is just going to make people look at the MRM, say, "hahahahaha wow what a bunch of silly fools" and move on because nobody is going to slog through that much bullshit just for the end paragraph. All publicity is not good publicity and this isn't going to aid and embed MRAs any more than it's going to make you look like total fools.
/r/MensRights20/05/13 06:28 PM
11

are you implying that this is satire
/r/MensRights20/05/13 06:22 PM
7

nobody ever said being body shamed is exclusively female. this is just looking at it from a female perspective.
/r/MensRights02/05/13 07:45 PM
6

You clearly misread the comic. It's entirely men laughing at her. The only other woman in the comic is one who is derided by men for being slutty and doing it for attention.
/r/MensRights01/05/13 10:57 PM
10

Probably because it's in the context of comic cons which are massively male dominated and whenever someone posts an overweight cosplay girl on reddit, it's overwhelmingly men mocking her body. Not to say women aren't guilty but don't even pretend men are absolved from body shaming because it's obviously bullshit
/r/MensRights01/05/13 06:34 PM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
