Everything has been taylored towards women so diagnosis and treatment for men isn't as advanced. The inverse of many other areas of medicine, I suppose.

women were included even though they outnumbered men in society They did?

I'm just a higher achiever. Or you have arguably poor work/life balance. Either way, yeah: Not a really a privilege.

I think the people using these terms do so on purpose, fully aware that they will piss off others, so they can interpret their salty reactions as "fragility". Or as confirmation that whatever they said is valid/true, making skeptical inquiry impossible.

as a sort of "final straw" attempt I currently have a request in at /r/redditrequest to take over. but who knows how long that will take. Here's hoping you get it. I think you'd make an excellent sub owner.

They frame trying to display empathy, compassion, and understanding towards their man, as "emotional labor." It strikes me as utterly sociopathic to frame empathy for one's mate as labor for which one ought to be paid in money, which appears to be the motivating factor behind the propagation of the term "emotional labor".

There seems to be a common assumption in the broader culture that boys are constantly being encouraged and celebrated, so we all must make a point to encourage and celebrate girls as much as possible to bridge that perceived gap. I don't recall being encouraged and celebrated much as a boy. Quite the opposite: I was generally criticized or castigated, or at best ignored, when I failed to be proactive and performant. Is my experience unusual in that regard? Are girls really encouraged and celebra…

Yeah, I've asked the same question. My wife has a "Misogynist Tears" mug, which is just fine by me. There's no need to throw good men under the bus.

/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates26/04/20 12:15 AM

The answer depends on when you're talking about. Early in the war, few if any Americans knew about the final solution, for example. Probably most American soldiers thought that they were defending American freedom.

Yet, you'll see a ton of women act as if 'don't hit women' would protect them from club bouncers, after they behave in a way that should get them thrown out violently. Even against police while drunk and disorderly Maybe not "a ton", but certainly some women do appear to think that way-- and they probably get away with it more often than men do.

A big part of what got me involved in Men's Rights (and increasingly disgusted by modern feminism) was working with real men out in the world. People who've actually lived with abusive mothers and abusive wives, survivors of suicide attempts and victims of legal and financial abuse. And the people you worked with were the lucky ones-- because someone worked with them.

My favorite example of that is their idea that men who sit spread-legged on subways do so specifically to oppress women.

This is what I like to call "tongue-in-cheek" sexism, wherein the author is saying, "of course we shouldn't do this, but, like...what would happen if we did (and maybe, just maybe we should)?" I've seen it said that, "Of course we don't literally mean "Kill all men"-- it's just a joke! A cathartic joke, you guys. Imagine how comfortable you'd have to be with sexism to say "kill all women" even as a joke.

If it is so widespread and so stark, then why aren't the believers in the 77% (or whatever it is this week) wage gap demanding real, true protections for employees who discuss their salaries publicly? If workers were truly allowed to discuss their salaries with one another and if the wage gap believers are right, then we would be inundated with direct evidence. But we aren't hearing anyone call for such a thing.

I mean that every rape allegation should be taken seriously, regardless of whether or not is true. Serious allegation leading to due process, everything. Agreed, but please understand that "Everyone SHOULD believe a woman claiming she was raped" means something far beyond that.

What other motivation would saying that serve? Perhaps she thinks most women are weak and she's trying to mark herself out as exceptional. As far as I've seen, many radfems think very little of women.

Me: Online, I've given 20$ to United Way every month for 5 years, but decided to not donate this month. I was at the theater and I put exact change on the counter when the cashier stated the price of the popcorn they made for me. Then the cashier took the money even though I didn't specifically say "yes". Sure, I walked into the theater and ordered the popcorn, sure everything about the context said that payment was about to happen, then happened as expected, sure I remarked on the great price a…

We all know of plenty of guys out there who don't give up after a rejection, so how could we blame women for being tired of them? The problem is that the women who accuse men in general of harassment don't make that distinction. Indeed, they rankle when told that #NotAllMen do that.

No, but there is an idea that everyone else does it, so if you are seen by another guy to not be cut they'll make fun of you. It's a really dumb reason. I'm not sure it's possible to live in society without someone making fun of you for something at some point. Dumb reason, indeed.

but it somehow seems different to be told that, to be professional, you must put colored paints on your face, covering your natural pigmentation, and also reapply these every couple of hours throughout the day, every day. True, but of course it's also rough to be told that you have to have naturally good skin with no recourse to makeup to cover unsightly blemishes or large pores. Tradeoffs all over the place. And there can be a very difficult line between something that is fitted tightly enough …

There are definitely gendered negatives about business-appropriate attire for women, including how closely tied pretty and professional are Interesting. Is that gendered? Wouldn't an ugly tie, for example, be just as subject to that "pretty and professional" thing?

Eh, I don't agree. If Luigi were imprisoned, wouldn't we be surprised if Mario just said "fuck it" and called it a day? Sure, we might expect Luigi to attempt to free himself, but we would also expect our hero Mario to do what good people do: oppose injustice, with action if necessary.

Good point. When I played Mario Bros as a kid, whenever I did think of the plot, which was a rare occurrence, I never thought, "Oh, I have to rescue Peach because she's my property." I thought, "Oh, I have to rescue Peach because she has been kidnapped and imprisoned and kidnapping is wrong."

What matters is that she couldn't know that it was actually true. As far as she could tell, it was just an excuse. Even if it was true, it sounds exactly like an excuse. And beyond that, the nature of the questions he asked on the way were rather personal. Combined with the fact that he approached from behind and then decided for both of them that he would …
