Thanks! What specific products are you referring to? Where can you find them?

I think the best way to stop it from sliding by without consequences is by withdrawing my attention. While she's gone, say, "Hey, I'm gonna focus on myself these next 11 days. We can schedule 2 phone dates but that's honestly all I can give right now." I guarantee you she will explode. She is dependent on being able to text me. Also normally we text back and forth throughout the day. I'm thinking of saying "hey, really jammed up right now, but pick a day over the next few days and we can have a …

I'm starting to think that when I said, "When I see actions like this, it changes and makes me reassess my commitment level" last night that might be enough. I even said, "If you're going to do your thing, I'm going to do my thing too." She was not happy about that. I'm thinking that might be enough so that if she finds out she's a plate in the future, I can just refer back to that. Or do you think I have to officially announce "we are no longer exclusive."

Sure. I'm still trying to figure out what to do and how to handle the next two weekends with her if you have any advice.

Plate her at minimum, next at most How? I'm genuinely curious exactly how (like step-by-step) you'd recommend doing either of these options, given that she thinks we are boyfriend/girlfriend.

If I say "the distance is too much right now, I can't be exclusive right now" after she gets back from Europe, how do you think that will go? Any tips?

Good point. She is moving to be just 1 hour away from me within the next 6 months. We both have the same hobby, so if we break up I will still have to see her at nearby conventions probably 1-2 weekends a month. I really am not looking forward to that.

Thanks mushroommountains. She's 32, I think if I tell her we shouldn't be exclusive anymore, she will just walk. Maybe I can phrase it in a way that gives her hope that we can once again be exclusive in the future if she gets her shit together? EDIT: The "distance is too much" - why is that important to say?

I am seriously considering downgrading my commitment level. As in either through my words or actions, saying "We are no longer exclusive." What do you think? Also, I am thinking while she is in Europe, saying I can do 1-2 phone dates but other than that I need to focus on myself. So I won't be responding to texts. Basically let her go do her own thing but completely strip her of attention from me while she's doing it.

That was based on Corey Wayne's advice: "You must love in such a way that the person you love feels free". That was basically my attempt at not being controlling. Good point. But I don't think I can move her from LTR to plate without her walking away for good.

please see edit, I added some info. Also are you are saying I should just break up with her? I'm seeing her this weekend, what should my frame be?

Haven't seen her in person yet since I'm home for the holidays. Everything is fine (for now) over text and we're supposed to meet in person next week. When we do, I was thinking of saying, "I don't think either of us want a repeat of last weekend anytime soon. What are some things we can do together to avoid that?" Good idea, bad idea?

She's 32, I guess I just want to know the odds of her actually walking away. What is the best way to communicate that I accept the relationship but not make her think I am rewarding her bad behavior? Like, how do I re-frame things on my terms?

I am reading it right now. Which, specifically, do you recommend for me?

She hasn't tossed me an ultimatum yet. I’m sure it’s around the corner. Assuming I do commit, what is the best way to still maintain frame? What if she issues an ultimatum before I have the chance to verbally commit? How do I not let what I enjoy now not become “tainted”? “letting her pouting and manipulation be the driving force for your decision making will set a precedent whether you want it to or not” Exactly. I don’t want to set that precedent. I don’t want her to think that all she has to …
