I saw someone in TBP mention that TRPs mating strategies/relationship views resembled something closer to that of early tribal humans. Do you think it possible people would revert back to those strategies in the absence of a formal theist religion governing mate selection?

I've often wondered if the mother's aren't projecting: "I don't want you to be like all those men that did me wrong, I want you to be a nice guy."

People like that are the biggest reason I started looking for trp.

I took it seriously. The guy, despite being overweight and ironically having the last name "love", actually had very solid advice. Far better than anything I've read on the internet. It was going pretty good until he determined I wasn't the problem, and no longer needed to attend every session. Then it was decided by dear SO that he was "just some clueless fat dude" His final advice to me: "Don't put yourself in a position where you feel your needs are being compromised just to keep her satiated…

And you know what, so I have forgotten about bnw. At least for the most part I've tried to have a real discussion that didn't revolve around blogs.

You assume a lot. About every statement any person makes, not just on this sub.

You keep assuming that I'm trying to say what feminism is, I never have.

I have no idea where I got that, it's been a long time and you got me. Although, that's all you wanted to do in the first place. I was reading a book I'd like your thoughts on earlier: "The Female Eunuch" Would this book be considered mainstream? Edit: To take out a word :)

No, you misunderstand my intent. That depiction didn't have anything to do with what I think Huxley meant with BNW. It was merely an attempt to explain how contorted the view of TRP is, and how their feelings could be intereperated if you were looking at them through a different lens. I'm aware feminists opposes consumerism, the environmental movement is full of them. I'm also aware of what a dystopia is, and realize that has nothing to do with feminism. BNW was indeed much more stratified heira…

Of course, I forgot to mention the sick people on the sub. I realized some of the things I've read and felt twisted in my stomach a second ago, so I thought I'd mention that there are fucked up people. All over reddit.

Do you think Huxley's notion of alphas and betas is similar to the red pill usage? I think it might be an easier context for someone on your side to see: Could they feel as if they are betas/savages (I'll ignore the other castes for simplicity's sake) in a world like Huxley's? The trp view of how attractive, succesful people interact, seems in line with depiction of alpha behavior in BNW. "All girls are in clubs" and so forth. Promiscous sex is encouraged among all "alpha" members, from trp's pe…

Ok, could we look at the alpha/beta concept as its portrayed in "Brave New World" Due to your intelligence, would you say you fit into the "alpha" category? If so, would you say many of your acquaintances also belong in that class?

Interesting. Feels like a bit of deflection. He does bad things, but he's not poor for it, nor is he denied any affection over it. Movies, though. Are you familiar/have you ever heard of girls setting each other up with guys that will "be a good first" for them?

I'm not sure sexy cad and bad boy go hand in hand. Bond could be an example of a sexy cad couldn't he? (Yes a movie example)

I don't see that implication, in fact I don't understand how someone can be socially dominant without success. Or does that refer to negative behavior? Ex: bullying I'd like to clarify that I don't practice red pill or pua techniques. My reasons for entering the debate are different from trps. I fully understand which group is on firm ground here, and I like hearing your perspective.

Thank you for answering my questions. I think I must have missed something, where did the paper indicate cads were poor? I though it was only listing traits in reference to mating habits. Also, in reference to your other comment about the paper, it did say "ideally women want the best of both"

I'm unable to look for sources at the moment. Could I rephrase you're criteria a bit? Instead of worrying about the cads, I'd like to ask instead: would the good dads be less desirable in an environment that focused more on short term relationships? That was perhaps even slightly repulsed by parenthood to some degree? If children were seen as a detriment to one's future financial prosperity, that would make good dads unnecessary would it not? I only used the word strategy because the paper did. …

" These “sexy cads” not only adopt a “love them-and-leave them” attitude toward mating, but they also possess traits associated with Machiavellianism, subclinical psychopathy, and subclinical narcissism (Jonason et al., 2009; Jonason & Webster, 2010; Paulhus & Williams, 2002). As a result, men who pursue a short-term mating strategy tend to display lower levels of stability, agreeableness, warmth, and faithfulness (Campbell, Foster, & Finkel, 2002; Paulhus, 2001; Paulhus & Williams, 2002). In co…

Yes, that sounds very logical. How about the definitions of sexy cad and good dad as they are presented in this paper, do they resemble the alpha/beta traits red pill talks about?

Again, I drew the same conclusion.

Yes, I agree. So if we assumed that red pill guys had a natural preference for those particular women, would that explain some of the behaviors they describe?

I'm not sure if you're intentionally misreading what I've written or if that was your attempt at an honest interpretation, but to make it extra clear: there is no advantage in short term relationships from adopting dark triad traits. "Why do some women pursue relationships with men who are attractive, dominant, and charming but who do not want to be in relationships—the prototypical sexy cad? Previous research shows that women have an increased desire for such men when they are ovulating, but it…

It's not really a question of respect. It's a question of bosses thinking - entirely with what they assume to be my best interests in mind - "We'll SpermJackalope's a woman, and most women want to have kids and lighten up the work load, so I should probably not recommend her for partner because that takes 60 hour weeks sometimes". And the perception of women as less authoritative and intelligent than men is well-documented. I can think of plenty of women who have shattered those expectations. Ye…

Yes, although I know I can also expect to make less than male lawyers who are no better than me, and to have a harder time maintaining a since of authority and expertness with juries during trials due to unconscious sexism. Well let me offer a little encouragement on that front, because I don't want you to feel that way. I've had 8 jobs since 15 years of age. Of those, it has been an even split in head management between men and women. That ought to be somewhat significant to you, as I live in t…

I've wanted to be a lawyer since 5th grade. Before that I wanted to be a firefighter, though. I don't see what my personal desires have to do with anything, though. I also don't want to be a doctor, a CEO, or a banker. Do you think that means I don't want women in those positions? Ok, then may I ask: do you feel that you can enter your chosen field? And I would hazard a guess that those facts are all interrelated. You factory is friendly to women, and has a fairly equal gender ratio. Jobs that a…

Actually, they are. Feminists want women in military combat positions, feminists want women working in mines and on oil rigs and as masons. This is part of the whole "get rid of gender roles" thing. Yes, I'm aware. I'm just not convinced. Even if feminists want women to do these jobs, do the feminists themselves actually really want these professions? Do you? Your personal experience doesn't really mean much, as it's utterly ungeneralizeable. Of course, I mentioned it only to convey that statist…

I apologize for the confusion, and I understand your rebuttal: "Where exactly should feminists be looking down to" I'll make an attempt to clarify. First let me modify the quip I used as a preface. How about "Feminists appear, from my standpoint, to covet the high paying jobs ( CEOs, Bankers, Engineers, so on), and encourage women to pursue these careers. Yet at the same time they do not push for women to enter dangerous fields that compensate workers to a higher degree based on their exposer to…

For a loose supposition: I've heard the statement "feminists look up when deciding what's equal, not down." That seems to encompass the idea pretty well. To me, it does ring true to some extent. When I think back to all my work experience, I could almost say with certainty that very very few women would be willing to do the same jobs. In fact I've heard this statement said by women in several variants over the years: "I would never do that." "Who would want to do that?" "That's too hard, why do …

I can understand that as well, but what the author of this blog needs to understand, is that his way of rationalizing the world serves him no benefit in finding intimacy.

I think I would make a distinction here. It's one thing to be upset because a person feels unwanted, it's another to have experienced an abusive relationship. It's understandable, to me, that someone who gets no attention would end up feeling repulsive, and depressed. However, I don't think they're justified in having ill will toward women because of it. On the flip side, I can also understand how a person abused by a member of the opposite sex could develop a bitterness at a perceived injustice…

You should have read it. The guy has a horrible outlook on his problems. He openly wishes violence against others. My little brother was disfigured at birth, and being honest, I really don't think he'll be able to overcome it to the point he can find someone. He's definitely lonely, but I've never heard him wish to disfigure someone else just to get back at the world. That author it's certainly not "reformed" to any extent.

I don't identify as feminist, or blue pill. But I agree with your entire assessment. The reason that dude is alone, is because has the emotional maturity of a toddler. Basically he's saying: "People look like they're enjoying things that I don't get to, so I want to hurt them for it." Guy sounds deranged, not insightful.
