If you don't hear the catcalls then there's no real problem. Now, street harassment, which also happens, is another thing altogether and that one can't be simply ignored. The belief that "men only think about sex" plus the idea that all teenagers, but particularly men, are horny 24/7, plus the notion that men can't be victims of sexual abuse, plus teacher/student fantasies some adults may have. I think a lot of it has to do, more than anything, with the lie that men can't be victims of sexual abuse. 1	Men are killed at a greater rate than women in Australia – what can we do to reduce their risk? \| While there has been much research into female victims, there has been almost none on male victims. This reminds me of how in Mexico, they have a completely different word for murder if it's done to a woman. This wouldn't be that big of a deal, but it's treated as something extra heinous, almost akin to a hate crime, without really doing any research as to why the woman was killed. 8	Suggesting men are better at tennis than women is "age-old bias about female weakness if not plain old sexism". I think part of it is also the fact that it's easy to believe that women are just as strong/capable if you just parrot it and never put it to test. I'm the only woman in my MMA gym and while I've been there for longer than anyone else, I still get my ass handed to me by complete rookies.
