I would be interested in a Christian MGTOW group, but it would have to be more open to men who are already married like myself. Also, I would hope that it turns out better than the red pill Christian sub which is dominated by a legalistic mod with some weird ideas.

I went to seminary, but I did not wake up in time to realize that I was wasting my time and money. The only way I could see myself in the ministry now is by starting something myself.

Good luck finding a church that will take a single or divorced pastor. Being a cuck is literally required for the ministry in churchianity.

Congrats! About the only downside is the terror you feel at times for their safety.

I also married a unicorn. The problem is that, after so many years, I am just not attracted to her anymore. She is like a sister...that I have to have sex with once in a while. I am jealous of these single MGTOW guys. I lurk here and live vicariously through them. But I would do it all again because of the kids. Nothing compares to that.

They did the same thing over here in Minnesota when the women's USA Olympic hokey team took on a boys high school squad. The boys killed them (no checking was allowed). The high school team was from a small town that did not even make the state tournament that year.

"In the meantime, please do not spread the lie that God intentionally wants people to be sullen and depressed for extended periods of time." I never said this. The dark night is not being sullen and depressed, although those going through it may feel that way. The dark night is the Lord's removal of his sensible benefits for a season in order to prune us for greater fruitfulness. That was specifically stated in my previous post and I would appreciate if you would not read your ideas into my stat…

I read the book that published Mother Teresa's private letters to her spiritual director. The Lord clearly gave her the vision for her ministry before she founded her order and she followed that vision in utter spiritual darkness for the rest of her life. Mother Teresa is an extreme example of faithfulness through an extremely long, dark night. I find it incredibly short-sighted and ignorant to sit back and say, "well, she did was not in the business of discipleship, so she could not experience …

Please see my response to u/Red-Curious for more of my remarks on the dark night. I am just grieved at your diagnoses. It really puts things in perspective. I am so sorry, and I will be praying for you.

You hit on a very important aspect of the DNotS and discipleship in general, temperament. You are a do-er, action orientated, and i would venture to guess, extroverted. I, on the other hand, am extremely introverted and contemplative. What your discipleship/sanctification journey looks like will be much different than mine. The Lord is very personal. He knows us better than we know ourselves, and he teaches us accordingly. Although there is enough we all have in common to identify general patter…

This response is typical of the kind I already mentioned: I was not praying hard enough, did not have enough faith, believed a lie, or in this case, I am not bearing fruit. I am disobedient. I have bought into "lore" that "is not in the Bible." The flesh is naturally repulsed by the notion of a DNofS. I had read about it years ago and even believed I had already passed through it. The DNotS is very well attested in tradition, and they use the Bible to demonstrate it and it's purpose, which, iron…

From what the monks say, there really is nothing one can do but be still and submit. God will end it when his work is done. I do feel that someday I will teach this to men because I have noticed, from talking to other men, that many of them experience the same thing around the same age. The "midlife crisis" is a spiritual dark night. It when our mortality begins to dawn on us and we realize that we were unable to accomplish what we dreamed as boys. Young men have, seemingly, too much strength, t…

I did ask the Lord to speak to me because I had been in the dark for so long. He answered by having certain books fall into my hands. Those books were on the dark night of the soul. This is an area where the Catholics have much more wisdom. I never heard it talked about in my Christian circles which are mainly Pentecostal and Baptist. Their answer to my predicament was always the same, I must pray harder, I did not have enough faith, or I believed some lie. My dark night started after the most i…

It is kind of a funny story. I got saved while an undergraduate at a state university. I lived in a fraternity house and eventually fell very hard in that environment. I was devastated and asked the Lord where he wanted me to go to school because I could not live a holy life there. Then I thought I heard him say, "Go to Christian College" (not the real name of the school). So I applied for Christian College, but I could not afford it. So I finished my undergraduate degree somewhere else. Many ye…

It was only in seminary that I realized how much trouble the church was in. Women out numbered men in that school even though it was by name and tradition conservative and Baptist. I graduated almost 10 years ago knowing that I had no future in the church visible. It now appears to be a costly waste of time and money (still paying for it, and will for the rest of my life).

My church removed the words "deacon" and "elder" and replaced them with the "executive council" or some such thing. I refuse to become a member of the body as long as women are on the board and search committees. But this week was VBS, and we had over 100 kids attend. On a normal Sunday we have less than 20 kids. My son's class, 4-5 year old's, only has 4 kids. I do see how having a bigger facility can help accomplish things like putting on VBS, but it ultimately will not result in any actual ch…

You are right. No teaching on the wife's responsibility to her husband and no practical assimilation of the truth Paul reminds us of: that it was the woman who was deceived. The Lord rebuked Adam by saying "because you listened to your wife." Now we are taught to listen to our wives. Unbelievable.

This continued pursuit of the wife after marriage seems almost like a kind of veiled threat because we all know that in this culture she can leave at any time for any (or no) reason. Once a man is married with children, he has a very large burden to work and support the wife and kids. The provision aspect takes up most of his time and energy, and yet we are being told to continue to pursue our wives like we did before those responsibilities were placed on our shoulders. After being married for n…

I remember reading John Eldrege years ago and his basic archetype was the man as warrior and the woman as princess. The man had to win her heart, like she was the ultimate prize and the warrior had to prove his mettle to win the affections of his goddess. His books had a very big impact on the church culture I was a part of, and it tied in nicely with the Disney fantasy that we were constantly exposed to as children. I think where things get confusing is that in the biblical world marriages were…

I did not discover Kierkegaard until I was in graduate school and already had a very good working knowledge of the Bible, which was the inspiration for most of Kierkegaard's ideas and categorizes. I would recommend that you read the Bible itself before you get too deep into Red Pill stuff. Self-denial is a life long battle and not something we can do alone. In my case, the self simply grows more and more hungry, if you will, as I deny it, and eventually the hunger overwhelms what will power I po…

In the abstract, I would highly recommend that you check out some of the writings of Soren Kierkegaard, especially "The Sickness Unto Death" and "Fear and Trembling" as these works deal with the nature of the self and faith. For example you describe having an experience where you lost all frame of reference, as if you were detached from your self, and you speak of different versions of your self, Kierkegaard addresses these issues specifically in "The Sickness Unto Death. While I see a definite …

As a married man I must tell you that marriage does not solve our sexual issues. Not at all. In fact, it might make them even worse. Imagine being married and not being sexually attracted to your wife. That is the boat I am in. I do not say this to discourage you, only to put the issue into perspective. From my experience it seems that bringing our sexuality into alignment with the Word and character of Christ is one of the last stages of sanctification. You will struggle with this for many, man…

Red Pill and MGTOW hate on gamers. It seems like they completely miss why men game, and more importantly, they alienate a very large source of potential.

You have to just be an example wherever the Lord places you. There is no perfect church, and not enough "redpill" men to support their own church....yet.

Jesus said that he came not to do his own will but the will of the Father (John 6:38). It is no different for us. Why do you assume that to do the will of the Father, and not one's own, is "mindless"? God does not want us to internalize his character. The Lord places his own life/character in us at salvation. It is our task to work it out in fear and trembling. Or to put it another way, to die to self, to our will.

Thank you, I am glad someone else can see something of the similarity between the two. The Christian cannot have any other will than the Lords, and that is a huge point of departure with redpill theory.

An "alpha" as described by redpill theory is not simply a man with high social standing.

You need to work on reading for comprehension. I answered "the question" in my op. It is called a rhetorical device.

The "alpha" archetype as espoused by redpill theory is a textbook sociopath. You assume that I think an alpha is a "jerk." Your assumption is incorrect. In fact, in the case of many famous sociopaths, those who knew them thought they were really nice guys.

I agree with much of what you are saying. My interest in the red pill is that it is performing the kind of "ministry" that the church should be doing, only from a secular/naturalistic perspective. What the red pill is offering that common sense, or the church, is not offering is a kind of "awakening" to or "revelation" of our feminist primary social order that has brainwashed men into believing a false reality. Men are taught from birth to submit to, serve, or in other words, worship women. They…

This is a great post. It harmonizes with the "Keswick" influenced teachers like Watchman Nee, Hudson Taylor, Oswald Chambers, ect. Paul says in 1 Cor 1:30 that Christ is our justification and sanctification. He says in Gal 2:20 that he no longer lives, but Christ lives in him. Salvation is not about improving the old man/flesh. It is a new life. It is the life of Christ imparted to us by the Spirit. I have been wrestling with these truths for several years now and it is very encouraging to read …

lol, women are never at fault and they are never wrong. My wife is as saintly as they come and it is no different with her. You mentioned that your oldest is 18. How old are your other children?

There is nothing wrong with being prepared for the worst case scenario with your wife. Having everything ready to divorce and being willing to divorce may be enough leverage for your wife to decide to get the help she needs. I do think that you should wait to get divorced to give her, and the Lord, a chance to deal with the drinking issue first.
