Its like on road crews. Before, guys would rotate through the heavy jobs and then get a break being the guy holding the STOP/SLOW sign. Now, sign holding job is the domain of the women on the crew and the guys never get the break from the hard jobs.

The other thing that stood out from that book for me was the way they dealt with copyright infringers/pirates. Its really a fantastic dystopian bit of cyberpunk. I put it up there with Snowcrash although it is relatively obscure. I bought it on a whim since I liked the cover at a random bookstore I walked into that was having a going out of business sale.

Jesus. You are the first person I've ever heard reference that novel. Great book, I remember the part where the undead debtors would work away at debts accumulated in life by digging away at garbage dumps looking for any items of value to trade against their debt. Some had been at it so long they had worn away all their extremities and were only skulls, scrabbling away at junk.

I miss that van. It had a 318 v8 and would move pretty good for what it was. In retrospect, I probably shouldn't have picked up the girls I dated in it. For some reason, their dads weren't very happy to see what I drove up in.

Oh man. When i was a teen, my Dad had a 1987 Dodge Ram extended cargo van. No windows, just the feont two, windsheild and rear window. I drove that around. Funny enough, I could parallel park that land barge better than any of the cars I've had since.

I would like to see a change made to child support. If the payor(normally the dad) would receive an itimized list of where the support money goes to every month and the support would be adjusted based upon that. I know of too many mommies that use child support to pay for new cars and shoes and clothing for themselves while the dad is living in a Shitty apartment, barely able to make ends meet, if that.
