It's at 87% last I checked on Rotten Tomatoes. I'm sure it's at least ok and probably won't be half as bad as the new Star Wars movies are (but I might be wrong).

My only beef with this is that there was such a furore witnessed online about how much it would be shit from men, that this point is moot. Exactly, the uproar basically renders any opinion on the movie highly suspect. I'm going to see it and judge for myself if I enjoyed it. I was disappointed in Black Panther even though I'm a person of color and Wonder Woman was only "ok" in my opinion (that third act, ugh). I like to think I am capable of actual critical thought. That's the exact opposite of how it works. They should be criticizing it based on it's own merits, not the backlog of comics it came from which aren't being handed out in the theater so are irrelevant to the movie. I personally never read any Captain Marvel comics, but I am going to see this tomorrow. The only Guardians of the Galaxy comics I read were the original team, not the Groot and Rocket crew. But I still enjoyed both of those films because they were well made films.

I'm looking forward to seeing the movie because it seems interesting but I am hoping it's actually decently well written and acted. I'm pretty picky about my movies and totally skipped that Ghostbusters abortion. This I'm willing to give a chance because it looks like it has potential. If it's Mary-Sue city then I'll definitely be letting people know I hated it, but for now I'm cautiously optimistic.
