Which is exactly what makes this question even more annoying! Why do women need to spend energy empathizing with men if it isn't reciprocal? It's a real chicken or egg question

Being a nanny, childcare worker, or teacher is often considered a full time job, is it different when it's someone else's kids?

So far, you've only given anecdotes, which are not generally basis evidence for proving trends, and I have no idea if they are the truth or not. Do you think one woman doing a few bad things makes the whole gender toxic and selfish? Because hoo boy are you going to love when I tell you all the crazy stuff men have done without having me label all men as crazy, unstable, selfish or toxic.

Just because an opinion makes you uncomfortable doesn't make it true. All of the above there, that's your opinion. There's no statistic that you or I could point to that would prove or disprove your statements. But, you can't say women like Malala, Michelle Obama, Ada Lovelace, Rosalind Franklin, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, etc. have never outgrown childhood and have never faced adversity. And if you think that all of the women in your life haven't either, you might want to do…

That's a fine opinion to have. All women are toxic and selfish is not.

I never said that. I said not all women are toxic and selfish. Generalizing is bad. I never used my life experience or anyone else's to make a point. I said spending your time and effort into a profession that in general benefits society indicates that you want to help people ergo are not completely selfish. Second, no one here is virtue signaling, and was a response to your comment and has nothing to do with the original stagnant.

Life experience != Facts Having a job that tries to help people != Virtue signaling

It might not directly speak to that, but going to school and accepting low pay for generally thankless jobs is a lot more evidence than you've provided.

Yeah, exactly why millions of women are nurses, teachers, social workers, counselors, therapists, moms, etc. Toxic and selfish, the whole lot

No. The point is that high body count women belong to the streets because they cheat at very high rates compared to women with a low body count. Sorry you're too emotional to read ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Look, I'm not sure why you're trying to pick this fight. All I said is that stats brain looks weird. But since we're here... You've missed the point of the study. The point is that people report infidelity differently based on how you survey them. Duh, people don't like to admit they've done something bad to a person's face, which is to say the face to face data is less reliable than the computer survey data, negating your first point. Second point, they're only pointing out why they chose past …

Statistic Brain is a website for collecting stats, it might contain peer reviewed studies, but it doesn't produce data. It's also got a reputation for taking people's cc info and charging after cancellation. Why is it archived? Why does it include a random stock picture? Why does it website look like it was made in 2004 when the data is from 2014? Why is the data from 2014 when this survey was conducted again in 2018? Why does it have an album of the year video in the corner? Say what you want a…

As horrible of an analogy employer: employee:: husband: wife is, let's roll with it for a second. Employers look for more than the ability to do a single task during the hiring process. Ability to work with others/fit with the existing team, other abilities like multiple languages, etc. all make someone more employable. Wouldn't you want to share your "bounty" with someone with a good personality, someone you could share hobbies with, or maybe even someone who brings their own "bounty" to the ta…

Thanks for proving my point, "no hymen, no diamond" is BS. And you do you, but I wouldn't go around generalizing that mindset to anyone else. Sounds like a recipe for financial abuse and resentment to me.

I broke my hymen at 13 during a bike crash. If you're using the hymen as a sign of virginity, you're wrong. Lots of women have similar experiences, and it's not exactly some sort of freshness seal. Also, there should be a lot more considerations to marriage than paying for sex.

Could we get a link? A paper title maybe? This study has been ongoing for over a decade so it's hard to tell which year this data is from.

https://academic.oup.com/analysis/article/75/2/191/165327 There's a couple different camps here, but there are definitely more out there. There's not a singular definition, so it could be abused, but the way I see it, it occurs when someone aims to sexually gratify themselves without consideration of the other party, i.e treating them like a sex object.

People do vet others when they come into their life, and they continue to do so for the entirety of the relationship. Character, looks, and money are all taken into consideration when choosing a partner, the order of importance may vary by person, not necessarily by gender. However, it's a hell of a lot easier to fake character than looks or money. Plenty of people end marriages saying that they divorced a different person than they married. I chatted with one of my female friends today and she …

Not necessarily, it's a biological term. For example, we say swans are monogamous because they mate for life. I'm in a monogamous relationship, but I'm not married

In general, we are conditioned to think feminity is worthy of ridicule. See recent discussion about why men that display feminine traits are shamed over women that display masculine traits and Lindsay Ellis's arguments about Twilight hate. This leads to "I'm not like other girls" and "just like one of the guys" because girls that are into sports and cars are glamorized over girls that like fashion and boy bands. See just about any movie with the mean girl trope. Still a red flag though, for eith…

People don't need sex. Humanity needs sex to propagate itself, but individuals need water, food, and air. An argument could be made that a life without sex wouldn't be fulfilling, but you will not die due to sex deficiency. If you need sex, you should be willing to pay for it.

I'm not ashamed of my sexual history, I'm lucky enough to have been in control of my body the whole time. People out there that would shame me for what I've done don't deserve my time or energy.

Feminism: the belief in social, economic, and political equality of the sexes Nothing about hatred of men in the definition of feminism. 61% of U.S. women say ‘feminist’ describes them well Source: https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2020/07/07/61-of-u-s-women-say-feminist-describes-them-well-many-see-feminism-as-empowering-polarizing/ If almost 2/3 of the female population hated men, society would look very different. It's not our fault you don't believe us.

Look, I'm trying to not treat men as a monolith. I would suggest you do the same for feminists. We don't agree on everything. I am telling that to the feminists, but we aren't exactly a hive mind.

It's not all black and white. Things can be situational. It's like a boxer KO'ing his opponent with a clean hit square to the jaw in the ring is a good thing. Replace the ring with his house and his opponent with his kid, everything changes. It's good when men are strong leaders. It's bad when they use their positions of power to ignore the ideas of those under them. It's good when men have the courage to approach women they're interested in. It's bad when they refuse to accept rejection. It's g…

It's the same concept, not all men are complete monsters, but some are. Not all feminists generalize about men, but some do. And feminist != woman. The ad was directed and produced, but it also had to be paid for, focused grouped, approved, etc by several people, presumably men that are in positions of power and are also feminists. Not only that, but men could be better. We could all be better, but it's an ad directed at men. It says nowhere that "they're all toxic," in fact, it shows several ex…

I mean yes, it is used to demonize some men for certain traits, but "not all men". Toxic is an adjective, a qualifier. Toxic masculinity != masculinity is bad. Obviously, there is a subset of the feminist movement that might say "kill all men, " but that's not what the term is appropriately used for. Toxic femininity is also a thing, it just isn't in the zeitgeist right now.

This article says nothing about the inability to commit based on number of sexual partners. The mental health consequences of having multiple sex partners were long thought to include greater rates of anxiety and depression. At the same time, high rates of alcohol and substance abuse were thought to increase the chances of young adults engaging in unsafe sex with multiple partners. New research from a longitudinal study of over 1,000 New Zealanders suggests that, surprisingly, neither of these a…

I'm kinda confused about the argument in this thread about people lying about "their number". Out of all the sexual and/or romantic relationships I've had regardless of seriousness it's come up ~1/20 times? I get the relationship to STD's, but that seems like a separate, specific issue to be legislated. What is the relevance? Does it come up often? What opinions/desicions is it influencing? Also, men and women can be jerks. People lie. Your argument can go both ways, so it doesn't really go too …

Own it! This bothered me a lot when I was younger too, but there are stats to show shorter people often live longer, healthier lives. I'm willing to put up with step-stools for that. Once people realize you don't care, they'll shut up about it. Sorry if this was too positive for PPD lol, but this sub is just proof dating is hard for everyone. Good luck

5ft even here, I've dated men between 5'2" and 6'5". I'd say both the shorter guys and taller guys that I have experience with have expressed that sentiment. Had one guy tell me him and his buddies discussed that 5'0" was their "dream height". It's the dudes in the middle that don't really care. Couldn't agree more with your last sentence though, it goes both ways.

OP describes the choice women have, so why are you minimizing men's choices? If you hate your job, there are steps you can take. Start your own business, talk to HR, go back to school, get therapy, consider that your boss also might be driven by fear of all those things. People that are legitimately trafficked don't have those options.

Sometimes maybe, but also consider that it's way easier to not to rock the boat about it. It might be the chicken thing to do, but it's easier especially if you run in the same circles. Orbitee is a generally passive role, so flirting with other guys is a way of saying you're not interested when going this route. Again, not saying this is healthy, but there's your peek inside the mind of a woman.

I can't stress this enough, but if the landlord and the leasee don't have a certain level of trust, it's a bad agreement. Grounds for eviction or finding a new place to live even.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/08/20 10:17 PM

Well, if someone breaks the lease agreement, that's an issue for the courts. There are risks to living places. If you've done the background check and think having had 25 previous residencies is a deal breaker, don't rent to that person.

I think you may have missed the spirit of an analogy lol. If we're going to make it literal, the amount of people who did or did not fuck in a house doesn't change the value. Otherwise, my college dorm room would have been much, much cheaper
