Great talk. Sometimes I struggle with balancing out my personal philosophy, which is pretty much a mix of Epicureanism, Buddhism, and Taoism, with all the seduction/self-improvement stuff I read. Sometimes my attempts at being assertive lead to me becoming aggressive, and then I wonder what I'm really doing. Sometimes when I focus on seduction stuff, I end up obsessing over 'overcoming my anxieties' and ironically cripple myself and become even more anxious. On the other hand, when I try to be 1…

Hahahahahahaha. I get the impression this is a genius satire of the notion that by reading some stuff on seddit you can instantaneously go out and start scoring left and right when in reality it's a grueling process that's going to test your will and involve overcoming your deep-seated fears.

Glad we've got responsible drug users like you around who don't even know what they're taking. Someone's got to be the guinea pig, I suppose.

Right. I had a similar goal to obtain the psychological changes brought by MDMA. It piqued my interest in Eastern philosophy and later psychedelics. I was mainly chasing after the calmness that MDMA brought; missed my subway stop? Oops. Freezing outside? Cool. Guy just shoved me? He must be having a bad day. I can't say I spend too much time chasing after that goal nowadays. I achieved a very high degree of not giving a fuck about anything, but it brought along with it a lot of apathy. Apathy to…

I couldn't give a fuck about girls while on MDMA, honestly. I just want to talk to a close friend for hours.

No problem. Honestly, we need more people with that mindset to counter-balance the extreme misogynism in the seduction community. It's a shame people like Roosh V have become the poster boys of PUA. p.s. Let me know if you guys are ever doing something like a summer internship ;)

Kick Ass Academy is pretty damn cool. They're a lot younger than most PUAs and they have that youthful energy. I feel like Mark Manson readers would vibe well with them, as they're both pretty anti-being a dick. http://www.kickassacademy.com/seeking-growth-hackerassistant-plus-lifetime-trip-party-kickass-academy/ They had this pretty awesome offer too. Wish it was offered three years in the future when I'd be out of college.

You're posting about drugs in Reddit and you think you're gonna get downvoted? Nope. Out of curiosity, did the level of comfort with approaching stick after your MDMA approaches?

You know why girls click like and comment on their pictures? Because they talk to them. I think you have some misconceptions regarding good looking guys. I've known plenty in college that had their fair share of girl problems because they didn't have the confidence to go with the looks. They didn't approach. They did have an edge in that they'd eventually 'bump' into a girl that they'd hit off with, but it's not like they were drowning in women. What's probably really helping your friends is soc…

/r/seduction01/11/13 04:32 PM

Yup. I think the one negative of Northern Europe is that the culture is generally reserved, so AA becomes even worse. Sure feels that way for me, anyways. I feel really weird even saying "How's it going" to my cashier, when it's completely normal in the US. Not to mention a lot of people have expressed the feeling that the American habit of asking "how are you" as a greeting is very disingenuous.

Yep. People dislike the quiet culture, but if you're direct approaching in Stockholm or Copenhagen, you stand out a lot more than direct approaching in Paris, where every other guy pulls the same shit. If anything, bitch shields are high there. A lot of people read shit about Scandinavian countries on the internet that's exaggerated and then make some stupid assumptions about how things work around there. I think cold approaching in Nordic countries is harder at night because they're used to completely smashed guys trying to hit on them, but I'm not sure if that applies to day game. Also, Nordic countries are not universally the same. I've heard direct day game goes real well in Norway. Well how would Danish girls react to daygame? The surprising answer is, quite well. JUst like Roosh mentioned in his book, no one does daygame in denmark, so when a girl gets approached on the street, its quite a …

http://marc.ucla.edu/body.cfm?id=22 Meditation isn't about contemplation of the philosophical nature of the world. It's the complete opposite. If you like challenges, you might like it. It's training your willpower. Reduction of depression, stress, anxiety, more awareness in the present, and less internal chatter are the claimed benefits. It was noticeable for the first few months I did it. Now, it's not nearly as much, and I don't even really know if it helps or not. I used to be big on meditat…

http://boldanddetermined.com/2012/01/21/pick-the-right-wife/ Yeah, this dude seems like a great guy. And people ask why the seduction community gets labelled misogynistic. It's funny, guys like this probably were treated like shit for being way too submissive to women, and so they do a complete switch and instead act like overly aggressive douchebags, see some results, and decide that's the way to live. Go for it man. I'm around the same age and I study at college. Given, I have my own place and everything, but nothing should be stopping you. You don't need to have time to go to the clubs and bars every weekend. You can just start out by trying to day game? Too nerve wracking? Just go around asking people for the time, for the directions, then start asking pretty girls, and then later try to hold a conversation. Work your way up there. Just try to be a more sociable person in general. Talk to p…

Yup. Drugs can be nice. As for your game, I honestly couldn't give a shit about picking up women with the drugs of my choice. They're the last thing on my mind. That being said, some drugs might help, but it's a clutch and I don't you'd benefit as much from it in comparison to sober game.

Practicing mindfulness is a form of meditation. I'm not sure where meditation stops you from feeling emotions; it simply allows you to see them in a bigger perspective.

I've never considered recreational activities (drugs, drinking) as a waste of time. It's fun. Getting sucked into them is dumb, but getting sucked into anything is pretty dumb. You should be able to manage time between your hobbies. I also don't think the 60 hour work week is that much of a handicap. Investment banking can see up to 100+ at its worst. Strategy consultants are travelling on a constant basis. That's when you can genuinely complain that you have zero time for a social life.

I find it difficult to believe that India has as easy girls as the US. This map just seems like one dude's generalizations. I think it has a lot to do with the individual's own characteristics as well. A WASP frat boy in the US would see the US as green.

I just watched up to the size matters thing and wasn't very impressed. The tiny guy takes the drink from the dude and puts it on the table. The other guy can grab it back easily. The other dude keeps it in his hand and given how tall he is it they'd have to lunge for it. Obviously there's going to be a difference in reaction when you can't just grab your drink back. In both cases, the first guy they pull that with is pretty pissed off. Edit: Kept watching. Please don't imitate their impressions …

I'm of the opinion that everything I do should be for the sake of improving my happiness. Pick up is a hobby for me, not a lifestyle. It's like a game or a skill - I want to be good with girls, because I haven't been that great in the past, and it'd be cool to cultivate that skill. If it's becoming more of a lifestyle than a hobby, I think it's best to take a step back and take a moment of introspection. It's important to analyze what you're really trying to achieve - fucking a bunch of girls is…

Of course they are easy and normal, that is why 99% of lame guys do them, why women think it is boring, and why the first thing you learn is to avoid them! Yup! Still not disagreeing with you. Magic bullets definitely talks about attraction more than cheesy routines.... What about telling a personal story that is packed with DHV? Ask for their opinion on an interpersonal situation (there are a ton of these types of routines, change to fit yourself) I guess our opinions of routine differ. Prepari…

Why are you wanting to jump into mundane comfort questions? Just because you don't want to use cheesy routines for attraction? I'm not certain what to say post-approach. Comfort questions are real easy and normal, so sometimes the conversation swings that way. It would seem to me the solution is to get better at attraction without crappy routines, not getting better with mundane interview questions.... Yep. I agree! That's why I'm asking for tips. :)

What the fuck is up with this mindset on Seddit? This mindset gets repeated as much as the weekly "can I attract girls if I am asian/indian?" question. No shit being tall and good looking helps your game. Get over blaming your physical appearance for your lack of personal confidence. This guy wouldn't have had the same outcome if he didn't have the balls to approach. He wouldn't have had the same outcome if he didn't have the same confidence, techniques, understanding of game, etc. Does he have …

Yeap. Definitely. That's why Style and Mystery are so shit at pickup, like other pretty average-looking PUAs.

Fair enough - the guy did mention being 6'2 and well built. The thing is, even if looks matter, the fact was that this dude was going to get nowhere if he didn't approach. Getting past that hump is what matters most, and he did. After that, he had some great game. It wasn't as if his looks just completely did the job. They definitely helped, of course.

Alcohol helps you approach, and then shits on the rest of your game, at least once you get past 3-4 drinks. However, this challenge is a bit silly. Going out every night for thirty nights and talking to five different women each time and following all those other steps will definitely improve your game, sober or not.

I like Models a lot, but sometimes I question the idea of always using direct openers. It seems like a great book for inner game, but I've been reading Magic Bullets recently and it recommends not showing interest until the girl does. I'm not sure which idea has more weight, honestly. I think direct openers have their place, but they do require a good deal of confidence, they're probably overused in bars, and they definitely aren't as effective on girls with higher perceived social value. I thin…

Nice man. It's a motivating read. Good job with the balls to approach - I still blow at that, but I've promised myself that I'm going to start following the Model's plan (a book which I'd really recommend, like the rest of this subreddit) this weekend. I've been working so much with just improving my teasing, cold-reading, humor, kino, etc. with my social circle (new uni), but if there's anything to emphasize for most people, it's probably approaching.

Then you're not understanding it. I don't have problems with meeting new people. I like to. I just don't enjoy when conversations turn into boring small talk. I prefer 1 on 1s with most people, because once you pile a bunch of small talkers in a group, they end up discussing some "FUNNY CAT VIDEO ON YOUTUBE LOLZ DID U C WHAT HE WAS WEARING" etc. etc. That's when I feel like I have to try, because I honestly don't give two shits about gossiping and youtube videos, which is pretty abundant in coll…

Half the people on INTJ probably aren't even INTJs. I kept getting INTJs on those silly tests, but when I actually looked up what they stood for, and how the cognitive functions worked, I'd probably place myself as an INTP if anything.

But they do have somewhat of a point - some of the stuff I see here makes me cringe. A girl is a bitch if she rejects you? Every girl is a slut? I don't know, sometimes I think the language could be toned down a bit. Just because you're trying to sleep with them doesn't mean they're not still people. Of course, other judgments are completely unfound and based off selective bias. Skim through a bunch of posts to see something that you find offensive and suddenly accuse the entire subreddit of bei…

Not arguing that at all. Being drunk has lost its appeal factor to me though, whereas sex hasn't. I'd obviously have the latter, and I'd imagine a lot of people in this subreddit would as well.

And beyond that, I'd just recommend cutting back for health reasons man. Blacking out fucks your brain hard. And it might be funny the first few times, but when you wake up in a hospital, that shit is a rough wake up call. And then the depression the day after. Ughhhhh. But yeah, I might've misjudged him, just seemed weird that they were making faces, haha.

Man. In my opinion, alcohol is just a game-killer. Like, maybe 1-2-3 (tops) drinks are great, but past that, you really start losing idea of what you're doing. When you have no game, it seems amazing because your inhibitions are down and you're just saying shit. But once you understand how to game, it really takes away from your thinking process and you become less smooth rather than more smooth. Alcohol kills approach anxiety but doesn't help beyond that. It just hurts, more than anything. I've…

What is your self? Personality is contained within your brain. The brain has been identified as being "plastic." Easily changeable. Personality is malleable. Repeating what puaCurveBall basically said, adopt what characteristics you think would make you a happier person. Fake them until they become you. That being said, don't change things you're happy with if you don't want to. I, for one, have no desire to go from being a light introvert/ambivert to an extrovert, but I don't think it's IMPOSSI…
