Agreed! I also want to see them go through a few life changes. People are amazing when everything's going smoothly, but I want to know them and how they deal with difficult situations.

Yup! You can also always ask where he bought it because you want to get it polished for upkeep. Some jewelry stores polish them for free after purchase.

I'm also curious about this! Personally, I wouldn't love a HUGE rock. A diamond between 1.25 or so and 2 ct would be fine, above that I think it would be too much for my skinny fingers. Proposal-wise, I hate hate being the center of attention. I would prefer it to be more private, just us. I am thinking a trip to a beautiful island and he takes me to a secluded beach where he has already prepared a picnic decorated with flowers, champagne, snacks, and whatever else. It sounds pretty generic, but…

Kind of off topic, but... I had an Infiniti Q50. I loved the car, but the seats were SOOO uncomfortable. It destroyed my body during road trips. If you decide to get one, see if you like the seats before committing.

Agreed! My ex saw me as a competitor and it was awful. He just never saw me at his level. I was younger without professional work experience and without a graduate degree, yet in a year I was making as much money as he was. We went our separate ways after a few months, and this was one of the biggest issues in our relationship. He was so jealous of my success he was constantly trying to bring me down in other ways. I am now completing my graduate degree and am more advanced in my field. My bf no…

Yes! I read Michelle Obama's book and loved it, but also felt very sad for her. It doesn't sound like she is happy in her marriage and he has always put himself first without thinking of her or their family. I also hated the story of how he proposed; he provoked her into an argument about the benefits of marriage to the point he angered her to then tell her he wanted to marry her.

I'm 5'8.5 and have had the same experience as you like 3 times. I went on a date with a dude who, according to him, was 5'10. When he showed up, he was at most 5'8. He spent the whole date calling me a liar because he was 5'10, so I could not possibly be 5'8.5. I was obviously at least 5'10. I don't mind dating shorter dudes, but I HATE when they lie about their height or try to make ME feel insecure because THEY lack inches.

I did. Stalker made his plea to the judge, the judge felt for him and gave me a choice. I refused the judge's "advice" and insisted on solidifying the restraining order, not leaving it temporary. There was too much evidence that he couldn't deny.

I've had to do this in the past. Nonstop calls and voice-mails, text messages from different numbers, harassing me on social media, etc. I told him a couple of times if he didn't stop I'd be going to court. He didn't stop, so I got a restraining order. The anxiety of possibly seeing this dude at my house or running into him was terrifying because I wasn't sure what he was capable of. He was prior military and that fed into the fear. When I went to court, the most upsetting thing was that the jud…

You are allowing a dude with SO many issues himself to pick you apart. He's told you he doesn't like you as you are. Stop trying to appease him. Let him go.

I agree with you. At the end of my lease, I had paid thousands of dollars for a car I had to return. It was basically a long-term rental with added maintenance expenses.

It sounds like she's jealous of your individuality and personality. Also, so gross to go after your ex. Good riddance.

I've recently had this realization as well and distanced myself from a friend I've known for almost 10 years. It sucks, but it's exhausting being in communication with a toxic person. She hates her life yet does nothing about it to improve, and constantly tries to bring me down to make herself feel better. No thanks, good riddance.

It's normal for it to bleed and be inflamed when it is just done. Still a shitty tattoo, though.

Yep! I've tried to tell her, but she's very defensive about it. We'll see how this develops...lol.

To add on to this, I also have a friend who has completely merged finances with a man she's not married to. I mean joint bank accounts, she helps pay some of his debts, etc. He spends money freely from this joint account as if her money is also his. He has also gotten her significantly in debt from their joint credit cards. First, DO NOT date financially irresponsible men. DO NOT get joint accounts. DO NOT become financially responsible for men. DO NOT contribute from your paycheck to help him p…

I'm almost 5'9 and also love heels. One time, one of my ex pickmesha friends told me I should reconsider wearing heels to go out that night because men would be too intimidated to talk me. I just responded, "good, I don't want those men anyway."

Backstory: He cheated. I had a gut feeling and dumped him. He begged for me back for months. Months later the lies unraveled. He lost the job I helped him get. He lost his car. He ended up moving to a bad part of town. I found out he got the girl he dated after me pregnant. She moved out of state after she found out he was cheating. She refused to let him be there for the birth or see their daughter, which is kind of sad.

Yes. I'm a white Latina and if I had a penny for every time a man acted absolutely shocked when I told them so, I'd be retired by now. Then they proceed to ask me HOW I could possibly be so white. Gross.

I work in tech as a database developer. As someone said, I'm more belittled than fetishized. As soon as I'd begin talking about my work I'd be dismissed and asked if I worked help desk and could fix their machines. Men who worked in tech would TEST me because someone like me couldn't possibly do such a job. Also jokes about how I must make so much money so they can be stay at home dads, lol.

If he dumps you because you won't have sex on the first date then he's not a HVM and you don't want him anyway.

I struggle with really figuring out how I want my life to be. I work remotely and do grad school remotely, but still can't decide where I want to live permanently, or where I ultimately want my career to go. I'm 27, and still just floating along. How did you ladies find yourselves in that sense?

I'm an active Snapchat user. Whatever he tries to show you after you confront him, don't believe him. You can delete conversations and hide things, you can even customize your story for some specific people and not for others. I actually learned my ex was cheating because I found it suspicious he had me on a special group where I couldn't see anything he posted. Just be aware of this. Another thing he might tell you is that those accounts are the advertised ones by Snapchat. I doubt it, unless h…

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I had a similar experience when I was in my early 20s, only that it wasn't a bf but someone I was talking to. The dude gave me controlling and abuser vibes after a few weeks of exchanging messages so I ended it, blocked and deleted. A few days later he sent me an email with the subject, "this could've been you" with a video attached of him having sex with another girl. From my experience, I was absolutely disgusted and traumatized for months. So, I can't imagin…

What you allow is what will continue. I'm sure this wasn't the first time he disrespected her this way, and it won't be the last. I can't imagine reproducing with such a scrote. Hopefully she dumps him sooner than later.
