Large Subs have more than one mod, and while I'm sure some of them are truly accidents, once the post is a few hours old automods are less likely culprits. Do you have a source for the decay effect fix?
Another tool I've seen recently is removing a popular post that they don't like, blaming it on auto mods and then restoring it hours late after it's too late for any chance at the front page.
