well, I'm a Canadian white male, but I'm now seeing that you are referring to an American black male vs American white female, in which case I'd say the choice is unfortunately obvious. Your 'world view' is very America-centric. You're a very narrow minded, not to mention annoying, individual and those blinders will not be lifted in a reddit exchange, nor will you suddenly become interesting, so blocked and farewell mi amigo.

hahahahahahah man didn't take long to crack that nut. normally your type aren't so quick to reveal themselves. well I'll take that as coming around and agreeing that there is a socioeconomic disadvantage to being a woman.

how is that a broad definition. power structures exist in every day life. even at home. it's just a fact. you're acting as though only the top 1% have any affect on peoples lives. if you were given the choice to be born black or white, male or female, you'd be an idiot to not take the obvious.

I suppose if you narrowly define 'power' to suit your agenda. Power structures exist in most people's every day life, and the positions of power are predominantly held by white men. This could be a household, small business, department of a large corporation, municipal government. It's not a tiny number of people by any stretch.

Men predominate positions of power and politics, it's just a fact. Just like it is inarguably advantageous to be white, it is inarguably advantageous to be male. Are things improving? Are we trending in the right direction? Yes, of course.

I dunno, I kind of subscribe to the belief that 'racist', for example, should have a particular meaning especially in the context of our world today for me it's enough to call a bigoted asshole black man a bigoted asshole, jmo

wow, I'm surprised it's that high. maybe it's where I live, or my social circles, that makes it seem unusual. thank you for the context!

Fair point. I'm mid forties so perhaps more common as you get older. Though I do worry about the relationship at 65 haha, fifty is young!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
