Possibly. She was definitely showing interest from the get-go, and I was using my body language to show confidence and enjoyment. Making myself attractive, so to speak. I remember the Wygant talk where he said one of the goals is to be a more attractive person, perhaps I achieved some level of that.

Someone's a negative nelly. A lot of talk show interviews are very much improv. They undeniably talk briefly ahead of time, but unless there's a very specific bit they want to do, it's very much a conversation. And thus something we can learn from. Watch it again, and watch it without sound. The body language alone is fascinating. Scarlett tugging on her ear, petting the fake dog, the degree to which she leans in, etc. Watch how animated and interested Craig is, and how he gets her to follow his…

Way ahead of you on that last.

Whoa hey. Didn't expect to see this. Don't thank me, I found this elsewhere on Seddit. Some other sedditor found it a while ago. But really, Ferguson is fantastic to study. Any of his interviews are great. The Kristen Bell one leaps to mind as well.

If I weren't booked solid this weekend I would. We really should have a NYSeddit.

It happens once a week or so, different venues, with a different theme each time. This was the biggest venue, so I figured it was going to be my best option to milling about. I think that not rehearsing was the biggest downfall of my story. I had told it to friends before to riotous laughter, but I rapidly discovered that telling a story to friends, casually, is far different from telling it to strangers with a time constraint. EDIT: Forgot to mention, it's in multiple cities, so it might be a v…

Simple. Wasn't attracted to her. I didn't want to escalate things with a girl I'm not attracted to. But I did have a nice conversation with her, which was exactly what I was looking for.

That's my attitude as well. AA won't be completely gone, but it definitely won't be a huge factor going forward. "Oh, so I got shut down? Who gives a fuck? I made an ass of myself on stage! Nothing's as embarrassing as that!"

I agree it's an inner game question. I had been doing quite well in previous nights out, but this one not so much. I tried to fly without mastering walking first. And sorry to bore you, as you say, but it's a good illustration of how badly that bomb affected my mindset. It's not meant to entertain you, but to educate.

Agreed, but this was an extreme acid test. There's bombing in front of a set of 4 HB10s, and then there's getting on stage and bombing in front of an absolutely packed house to the point where you're physically sweating and shaking. I tried my best to maintain composure, and mostly did outwardly, but inwardly my confidence was shaken to the point where I couldn't motivate myself to talk to others. I gotta say, if nothing else, it gave me TREMENDOUS respect for standup comedians and the like. Tha…

This was probably the path of least resistance, and the worst opener to start a conversation. Do not pack it in. Talk. To. Him.

Nope. You don't. Simple as that. It doesn't matter what you say. You can change the topic a second later. Just start talking with him.

Something contextual. You're at college, ask him about classes he's taking this semester. Doesn't matter what. Just be sure to smile. If he's on line with you, ask him what he's on line for, or ask him "Man, this line's taking forever. What do you think they're doing back there?"

Jesus fucking christ OK. I'm in NY and I need to spend a night sarging with you. Do you... do?

This happened to me a bit when I got a presentation at work about a new health plan. The sales rep's body language was closed when talking about certain plans - crossed arms, covering his mouth. When we got to an account that wouldn't really cover anything, there was open palms, smiling, and leaning in. I was unconvinced and found out exactly what that plan wouldn't cover. (Basically everything). It was billed as the cheapest plan, but with a lot of hidden costs. I wouldn't have dug had I not pi…

You seem to be overthinking. Don't overanalyze. She doesn't know you're speaking faster than you normally do. How to get her number: ask. Simple as that. She seemed into you enough to have a conversation, it's a minor thing to ask for a number, especially if you're leaving. It's a good move to leave before the conversation runs out of steam. Always leave on a high note. What conversation threads to follow should be as a rule of thumb something she's excited about that you can get excited about. …

Seriously, don't be hard on yourself. No approach is a failure, but this one was definitely not a failure. You sacked up and talked to a pretty girl instead of being scared off, adapted really well on the fly, and even overcame that anxiety about hitting on a high schooler. And even then, you can still flirt with her and enjoy yourself and each other's company. Don't think about outcomes so much. Only thing I can fault you on is not getting her number. But you're past the more serious hump, the …

Never had to deal with that situation, but here's what I'd do. Number one, try to re-game her a bit. Approach it like you're rebuilding rapport for the first time, but don't mention that conversation. Act like it wasn't no thang. Number two, if she broaches the subject - you said it, you have to own it now. If you back off of it, she'll likely lose more respect for you. Don't rationalize it, don't apologize for it. Just say that it's a fact and change the subject. Although that did seem like a p…

Fair point. Perhaps it wasn't a shit test, good thing I trusted my instinct on that one.

I think she was potentially amenable, but she was as tired as I. But noted for the future.

Interesting, never heard that. Makes for an interesting play, though, can steer towards the white pizza or something a bit more lean. The lack of f-close wasn't a result of lack of game, it was due to a conscious decision to not pursue it. By the time we rolled to my place, the sun was about to come up and I was barely coherent. We basically made out and fooled around a bit and then collapsed. Plus, I see it as an opportunity to keep her wanting something, a reason to come back.

As do I, and I've never been. We should start something.

Conversation. Conversation conversation conversation. I suck at it. I can open without a problem, it's the transitions that I can't seem to get the hang of. I'll get stuck on a topic, and unable to get off of it. Then it drags on and on, and I can't find a smooth way to change the subject without appearing brusque. Also, I have trouble challenging women. I've been a Nice Guy all my life, and I'm new to the PUA stuff, so my initial instinct is always to agree and build up the girl I'm talking to.…

You're still overthinking it. =) Approach her in what the situation best merits. Quiet room? Sit next to her and ask. Alone in the same section? Ask her from where you're sitting. Just be confident and smile. It won't matter if you're sitting or standing.

Stop thinking about it. Even if she says no, you learn from it and gain confidence from it.

Seriously. If a girl isn't interested in you, let HER decide that. Don't make the decision for her. If she's still there, go NOW. Right fucking now.

Bleh. If you get another opportunity, ask her anyway. I've been mistaken about the "Oh, that's her boyfriend" read before.
