I dunno. I got net down votes for saying people have preferences

Nobody's dating choices are logically consistent. People reject someone who's perfect on paper but fall for someone who ruins their life.

People having preferences. Nobody owes anyone attraction, progressive politics or not.

I don't think he's embarrassed of your clothes. Seems instead that he's bothered that you look Latina in his American city. The "traditional" future you see with him requires you to disappear pieces of yourself every time you get dressed. Think about that.

The OP claims behavioral differences cause the bias, but that's circular reasoning. You can't prove a bias is accurate by pointing to the same patterns the bias creates. Women seeming "more wonderful" could easily result from socialization, selective attention, or different behavioral expectations rather than inherent differences. On another note, while the testosterone and crime statistics are real, using them to justify viewing women as inherently "more wonderful" ignores how social structures…

Having reasons doesn't make biases accurate. People had "reasons" for thinking women couldn't handle jobs or that certain races were less intelligent. The whole point of cognitive bias research is showing how our brains systematically get things wrong, even when it feels logical. Feeling reasonable (with reasons) doesn't equal being correct.

You're confusing wanting to feel attractive with wanting unwanted attention from random strangers. Women can dress how they want without it being an invitation for every dude to stare or comment. There's a difference between feeling confident in your body and being treated like a piece of meat.

The criticism is inconsistent. Nobody questions sugar baby relationships or middle-aged women paying young men in Jamaica for "cultural experiences." If economic disparity makes relationships invalid, then wealthy people shouldn't date anyone.

This just explains why the bias feels justified, not why it's accurate. WAW is a documented cognitive effect that exists regardless of actual behavioral differences. People always have reasons for their prejudices.

That's literally how healthy relationships work. You help each other get better at stuff instead of keeping score.

That's not how cooking works. If someone can't cook, you teach them or cook together. You don't withhold food like a psychopath.

So you're saying the "home cooking" is bad, but your solution is to blame the kitchen. Maybe the issue is skill not demand?

Imagine thinking prostitution exists because women don't like sex, and not because it's literally designed around male sexual patterns. That's like saying restaurants exist because people don't like food.

I have an actual published dissertation, so I know the difference between academic analysis and whatever the hell that was.

I'm not reading through 230+ comments to fact-check your dissertation defense. The fact that you think criticism of your original post needs a trigger warning tells me everything about how you handle disagreement. And THAT explains why you wrote a manifesto about women being equally toxic in the first place.

Seriously??? You wrote a whole manifesto comparing porn to romance novels like you're defending your dissertation on why jerking off to Pornhub is the same as reading about vampire boyfriends. This has serious "guy who just discovered Men's Rights forums" energy and decided to solve gender relations with a numbered list written all over it!

People are terrible at actually defining what they're in, and then act shocked when the other person didn't follow [the unspoken] rules. Calling it "cheating" after the fact sounds way better than admitting you never had the "what ARE we" conversation.

You spent the entire event studying couples like a nature documentary instead of talking to anyone, then concluded that social skills matter most. Shocking! You just proved your own point without realizing it

Is this supposed to be a debate? Because you've just written a long post agreeing with yourself about how right you are. But maybe the "beggars can't be choosers" aren't't just making excuses. When you're getting zero matches and zero dates, desperate people might lower their standards. It's called survival, not stupidity. Telling someone drowning to be more selective about which life preserver to grab misses the point entirely.

Same harassment, different century. We just traded "fetch me some water, wench" for "smile for me, baby." The fake boyfriend excuse is probably carved on a cave wall somewhere.

The dick pics: Delete, block, wonder what they thought would happen. "Oh wow, this grainy photo at a weird angle of this guy's junk totally changed my mind about you, Jeff." The stalkers: Some guy you talked to for three messages six months ago is still messaging daily. "Good morning beautiful." "Hope you have a great day." "Why won't you answer me you stuck up bitch." All within the same hour. Fun times. The foot guys: At least they're not pretending to care about your personality for three wee…

You're right that you have to approach first, plan dates, and carry conversations with blank profiles. Know what else is true? She's getting 47 dick pics, three stalkers, and guys who open with "I want to smell your feet." You think being the dancing monkey is hard? Try being the audience for 200 terrible monkeys who all think quoting The Office is a personality.
