They even co-opted the student movement during the Maple Spring. Pointing this out is ... misogyny!

OP hear, reporting in. Saw a wounded vet after leaving immediately after posting this request. I was scribbling some notes in my notebook furiously on an almost empty bus in the last seat, trying to fix my clothes and get a few thoughts out of my head before they were lost forever.... Related to things about this thread ... Seeing the young guy on the crutch debark really brought it home. :I My guess is that he was injured a convoy hit.

Yeah sure.. And the cops will totally believe the man, who won't sit on remand for months while they wait to check the tags of the JPEG to see who's camera the photo was taken on.. They never just take the word of the woman.

So if a woman agrees to let a man take sexy photos of her and then posts them after a breakup, since he owns the copyright it's not "revenge porn"? This obviously has no potential to be abused whatsoever.. /s

I can't wait to send my girlfriend some pictures, knock her up, convince her to post them in a private offline and unrecorded conversation, have her arrested for revenge porn, then milk her for child support!

Copyright violation is if there is financial gain... Hurt feels don't count.

This one too: "The boys respect the girls. Girls, respect yourselves, and don't send pictures like that." Edit: failed </i> tag.

herr durr because nobody ever gets a smaller size than they should because corporations cheap out on gear or they only come in a handful of sizes and you have dudes with shorter legs than upper bodies or vice versa etc. Smaller coveralls can cause lower back pain, knee pads can cause knee pain - etc. Office/service industry monkey detected. Edit to add the oft-forgotten service industry. Muh apronz1!

It's not OK when they are not expected to fit - this can cause physical symptoms. Working people shouldn't have to endure being forced to wear clothes that can literally cause pain with use simply because they're not expected to fit properly. I'd take this further that men are often forced to use even SIMPLER sizing. S/M/L or L/XL/XXL in the US.

Dat shock and awe! This is actually one of the most understanding/polite subs for discourse that I've ever seen. Others would have jumped down my throat for that. Discourse, how does it work?!

Then again, I fap for free all the time. Hell, I'd probably fap for someone for $50 - but golf clubs; damn son. How much do they cost? Sounds like you got a good case. Get some!

You're legally an adult. Imagine someone framed the same situation with "I'm only 29 and he's 40!" - would it make a difference? Lawyer up, bro.

"I'm only 19." Yeah, you can fight in war, sign a contract, be obligated to pay child support/alimony for the rest of your life, etc.. I never thought I'd say this, but man the fuck up.

"Traditionally, victims of sexual abuse have been afforded a legal protection called “qualified privilege” which allows them to discuss the abuse without fear of being sued for libel, the sisters’ lawyer Tunley said. In this case, however, the judge ruled that privilege didn’t extend to the offending statement." I guess you could say that their privilege has been checked..

D'awh, shit. My bad. Well, at least it sparked the idea in my head that /r/MensRights is actually the closest thing that we have right now to a legit "men's studies" department. Sociologically I believe that these memes and discussion can be relevant, especially when posted by some of these anonymous fan pages with gender agendas. If I reimgur the advert, would you please kindly re-instate the thread?
/r/MensRights24/08/13 06:17 PM

If we gender swapped this it'd probably be a legit question in femo-class. But all fields are "men's studies", shitlord! Including women's studies, because patriarchy!

I find it kinda funny, too. The tradition has always struck me as strange. I find flowers beautiful. I love the smell of them. I like finding the perfect flower to give to someone special and her smile beaming when I reveal it - but it's a dismembered plant vagina lol .. THAT'S funny I've never seen a "buy him a beer" ad.
/r/MensRights24/08/13 05:49 PM

I guess I just feel that it re-enforces the notion that men are expected to provide a gift because hurt feels. I've been given flowers by ladies and it was amazing, but it wasn't by way of apology or anything. Also I have this stupid belief that issues like this should be resolved through discussion instead of purchasing consumer products..

Yeah but on the other side of the coin, wouldn't that absolve men of everything the feminists hate about men? I mean, I hate this "us-v-them" mentality, but you could probably explain everything "feminism" hates with evolutionary psychology.

It's just uncomfortable because my relationship with my child belongs to us ... I dunno, having anyone interject themselves into that is a boundary issue. I mean, don't get me wrong - I see/date single Moms with kids all of the time and the kids just tend to "flock" to me, I don't get it. I'm always "the funny guy" - but something about this "feels" different. For the sake of argument, perhaps the single Moms feel the same way I do when I interact with their children, but the focus tends to be o…

So ... you're preaching intersectionality? ;) LOL, I jest, I jest - good on you though! The demographic in my area is most certainly different; but I think this is a really noble way to make a tangible difference in the community. A couple of social workers have made a MASSIVE impact in my life, so I have the utmost respect for the difficult and often thankless job you do. Edit: forgot a word.

I agree, social work was my initial choice for post-secondary but I left the program due to bullshit and not wanting to deal with crazy colleagues. Crazy clients, fine - but I wouldn't be able to participate in the institution as it is, it's terribly exclusive.

False dichotomy and shaming language under the guise of "education". Just because I don't subscribe to your worldview doesn't mean I'm "not educated". EDIT: I just learned I'm more privileged than Jay-Z, most of the NFL/NBA, Obama and Oprah! Awesome, go me.

I take issue with this, there's the whole PC/RS angle - fishing expeditions are more likely to happen to minorities in minority neighbourhoods. Not to say that I haven't fallen victim to one, but I was in the wrong place at the wrong time; so that was abnormal for ME (I'm white) - but it's par for the course for the residents.

Wow that's insane, and an awesome use of tech to provide a positive effect! The lawyer in me wonders if she can sue the cops under the ADA for the flash patterns. Where does the benefit to society (IE: attracting the attention of vehicles) outweigh the potential negative effects for seizure suffers? Do rotating halogens cause the same effect?

You're absolutely correct, the term is used to re-enforce division. Divide and conquer. Separate the masses so the elites may continue their division of the populace unchallenged. We're all niggers now. Deal with it.
