Thats because something has an ivy league tag does not make it scientific dogma. There's a term for that in academic circles, its called appeal to authority and its a fallacy of argumentation. The problems with this study still stand, there's a reason why its only been cited five times in the nine years since it was published. Jesus christ that 70% stat that you guys like to cite is flawed and misinterpreted in many ways. That study was just flawed methodologically. It contained an extremely small sample size, less than 20,000 couples, of only one age group 18-28 who also happen to be the age group that has the lowest marriage/relationship rates in America. But none of those things are present and to infer the things that you mentioned would require a knowledge of the Scottish penal system that most people don't have and this post certainly wouldn't help them in that.
