I walked away from the "coupling" can't really call that shit a marriage .....I didn't go after anything but my freedom. I turned down alimony, child support and 35k. I did not get any part of any of his money. I did get freedom . I got all of my insecurities that went with it. That's what I got by walking away.

Please find a lawyer. Find one that you like and feel comfortable with. A good lawyer can really be your best asset.

The kids have been tramatized from divorce to remarriage . X wanted and facilitated the divorce. Bit by bit through shitty legal práctices had my kids taken away. That last sentence is an unbelievable 4 years. Last week my oldest said my wife is no more to them , than a homeless bum would be. There has been a lot of stress and dispariging behavior from x. Currently I am not speaking to either of my kids 15 and 20. I think it's best for my mental health because they're saying a lot of things that…

Lawyer up in the beginning and protect YOUR rights as a father. Her "agreement" is of no consequence. Besides what if she "agrees" and then changes her mind? Agreements basically should be rulings . Also if you have 50/50, nobody pays cs as you would both be supporting the kids. Also, 100 percent you do not want "social services" in your state involved. I know what subreddit I'm on ......don't shoot the messinger please and thank you. Edit for spelling.

My husband has those little shutterfly photo books. Yeah , on film they looked like a perfect family but I know they weren't. His x gave him those. I think about those "happy memory" times especially when I match up the" photo smiles " to the woman who told him to outsource sex but give her the money too...... Those memories hold a lot of pain for my husband.......he's holding the photo books for his kids because they aren't adults yet.

Do you ever go through your garbage and reclaim your trash? This reeks of seeking greener pastures. She shouldn't get to have her cake and eat it too. A divorce is a sign that you dislike someone enough to legally untangle yourself from someone.

Every 6 months or so for my guy. It's been almost 5 years and this crap is still happening . He has 5 years before he's totally kid free. We will celebrate . So by the time we are all done it should be 9 or so years of harassment. I hope you have a better sittuation and I guess 2029 will be a good year for us.

You need to "save it for an attorney " day. The best thing a man can do in a divorce is find a decent attorney.

Since your daughter is 18, she's considered an adult in the US. I would also recomend that you obtain some POA agreement . In the event that something may happen to your daughter medically . It would mean that you have a decision making ability for her instead of whatever state that you live in. Most of the time it's medical and general . Legal and durable as well. It's something that most people don't think of but it's important if it's truly needed. Power of attorney on young adults usually la…

She did . She moved to a different state and got away with 6 weeks residency, instead of 6 months bc of kids. She filed in a different city and county as well. She had made contact with an attorney months before.

My husband does. He can't find an attorney to go against his x and win. He has spent about 100k in legal fees and cannot get decent representation in court. He is located in the US and it's in a very odd "legal" área. Currently he pays cs and still does not get to see his daughter. My husband's sittuation is one for an epic novel. Grieve for what could have been maybe and MAKE SURE YOUR ATTORNEY IS FOR YOU. Yes, you and what is fair for you. Co parenting is just more than 2 words side by side . Kids are more than weapons to be used for parental alienation. Sorry, if I seem bitter or angry . Men get fucked in divorce sittuations and it's not right . Not all women are puré and not all men are devils. I'm married to someone who has notusually had a fair fight in court.

It was more like a slow burn of at least a decade for me. By the time I was divorced , I was not a good person. I did not take alimony (I didn't want him and didn't want his $). I did not receive all of my child support and.....I walked away from 70k . But I got my freedom and I became a person. There were a lot of things I let go of . Yes , you should get a lawyer . Things change so quickly in life . And the first rule is cover your ass. You can be nice but make sure you protect yourself . You have kids and she likes to squander money..... definitely get a lawyer.

This happens in the US as well. Family court is not everywhere . Men definitely do not get a fair shake sometimes . I don't think too many men would be happy with their x spouse always filing motion after motion after motion. The courts are not fair to men who breathe.

In Nevada is 18 percent of PRE TAX income ( before deductions). That's for one kid , it's slightly more for 2 kids. In a few years , don't forget to petition the court as the kids emancipate.

Funny story .....a couple of years before we got divorced, I discovered he had pawned his ring . I loved that ring ,but I let it go . I had the money to get it back . I realized it was telling of the marriage . I still have my ring , I may keep it , even though I have kids for a reminder.

My husband has been divorced for almost 4 years and it's still going on in a major way for him . (I'm next wife) . We've got 5 more years until youngest child is 19 and then we are done....... And after that , I want nothing to do with x or their seed.

It's "happy spouse, happy house". My husband started out with the "happy wife " stuff. My "picker" got fixed and my mindset got repaired as well and so now we both get happiness. 5 more years . When life gets tough I try to remember it's 5 more years until we are free. But for today it's a new round of attorney fees. Because high conflict does not equal simple conversion. Find a lawyer . Maybe you can make payments idk but get yourself legal representation. Make sure the lawyer will work with you. If you "legal up" in the beginning it may cost a little more. It's shitty and shifty the things women get away with because child support can and probably does pay for good attorneys . Not all of us are horrible . Probably 90 percent get a lot more than they deserve.

Someone told you wrong , children can and do feel empathy toward others . It's just in how they're raised . In my case the children in question cannot or will not feel empathy . I look toward their mommy . She's the one who wanted complete control over their lives . Children learn from their parents and you can bet if mom isn't a good person , her kids won't be either......food for thought and not every mother is good.

The legal system sure does go after men in divorce. And if you're a good man, it's really true. I married someone and for the next 5.5 years I get to have dealings with her. Until baby girl turns 18. 9 years old. I know a little about the bias toward men.

My stepson sees his mom in a not kind and cuddly way. Some kids just see through the baloney.

When I first got divorced , I thought 6 months was good enough and I'd be fine to date.....oh holy hell no. I dated someone I knew before and such a disaster. Actually a disaster might have been better. I decided after that , I needed to rethink a lot more haha. But for real, take time for yourself. Drink milk out of the carton in your underwear. Do all the things she said you could not do. Buy a label maker and label everything "fucking----" . The best thing you should do after a divorce is fig…

I agree with this too.

I found myself. I could do as I wanted. I could eat when I felt like it. I could buy my snacks and eat them 4 days later. I didn't have to hide my wallet under "dirty" towels in the hallway. I could have sex again. I threw out all the toys because "not ever again" was good enough for me. I could dress sexy and not feel shame. So many things I could do after divorce.

I like your comment and this really resonates with someone I love. I will also say it's difficult to work out things when one person is civil and one person is litigious. Someday perhaps maturity will visit and all can be mended. It's only too late if you've passed.

I'm a woman but yeah my bad marriage almost lead to my dea_h. I do not mess around with unhappiness. I married again and we both won't make that mistake again. We've thought about fixing up our exes but mine can't afford his .....

I am here hoping that some other post can give me Guidance on how to deal with the toxic person in our lives. I wouldn't DM anyone but I will admit most men really get shat on during a divorce.

Or at the very least not worrying about living. You have some things that will count favorably for you. Edit: I'm sorry this is happening to you. I hope you find peace and an attorney. She can pay for it....

His wife left him after she said parkinsons disease changed him. He told me about it on our second date. We are still together. Till death.

No hook , my parents died and left me a little bit of money. My kids came home from school and found a notice of foreclosure taped to the front door. Long story short , he hadn't paid the mortgage in 5 years a d they just caught up to him. I freaked out and he laughed about it and would not disclose his financial info. He is a compulsive gambler and has been furtive (or tried to be ) for 20 years..... I hired a foreclosure attorney and modified my mortgage and kept my house. He still lived there…

Thank you for being honest. We have 5 years and 3 months of her addlebrained litigious misandry and misogynist ways. Every day I hope she wakes up and has involuntary diarrhea. This is what I married into . He's an amazing man and I adore him but my God, I'm starting to look at legal law sites to see about information. Edit: I don't look at law sites to divorce him . 𝘖𝘩 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘰. 𝘐 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘺. But to find information to help him against that person.

That poor flower man. That hits hard that there are men out there who will do that . For what ? Crumbs of "affection". Poor self esteem sucks. In the millions of ways it appears.
