I love when people (especially relatives) ask me what I consider my biggest accomplishment. I always answer, "making it past 45 with no wife or kids." They freak out, get offended. Not having a 6 figure income certainly does not make you dumb. I've met complete morons who make millions a year and yet some of the smartest people I've known make maybe 30K. I've noticed a lot of the high paid idiots always involve some sort of nepotism. Anytime I meet some imbecile in upper management or on a board for a company, my first instinct is to ask for a DNA test because chances are, they are blood relatives to the owner or president to some capacity.

I was in Vietnam last year myself. While so many other friends and family were sitting in their suburban home becoming zombified by HBO everyday and having to listen to their "Large and in charge" wives/girlfriends. It was great. I actually went into the jungle in Da Nang and didn't speak to another person for a week. Woke up to the sound of birds and other creatures. Phan Thiet was also cool. They have giant dunes there.

No joke, I knew a guy who just happened to have the same last name as another dude and got hauled into a child support case. Not only did the DNA prove he wasn't the father but the mother even said he was not the right guy. Her own female lawyer didn't care and even disregarded her client's plea that the real father was somewhere else and this guy was some random dude she never meant. Fortunately the judge threw it out.

It is normal. Think of it as a baseline and you have to search far and wide for things your are passionate about in order to build on that baseline. I know that sounds like the sort of motivational shit you hear time to time but it's kind of how that works. I have done a tremendous amount of traveling and that always got me out of that feeling. Everyone is different though so you might need to find something else.
