If women were just for sex and you don't wanna play their games then not caring about women would be a normal reaction to distancing oneself from the herd. When inviting people to do stuff in my 20's, if I didn't have companions then I'd just stay home. Ineffective. Instead, I do things I like and meet people at the event. The goal is to make friends who enjoy the stuff I enjoy. Which just introduces another problem, ice breaking. But without problems we'd all get bored.
