Men should never disclose or tell the truth about seeing sex workers while single. It's none of her business. The past is the past right?

You should go read the advice on the dating apps subreddits. Any time video games is mentioned on a dating profile, it's down voted. Apparently, at best video games are solo hobby with no time for the partner and at worst it means you are a the worst lazy troll person. Some people see video games players as a dog whistle for whatever ism. You are not going to get the correct answer here.

I don't solely think it's feminism to blame. I think it's the materialistic brain rot of social media and dating apps. Am I supposed to pretend that Female dating strategy hasn't grown in popularity over the last 5 years? How about the insane defense of awdtsg websites/apps? People act like the Internet Brain rot only effects young men. I leaned about the 666 rule from the women at my old office job. The social media noise effects everyone.

If you are not top of physical attractive your best bet is to develop a life that lets you met and interacting with other potential partners. Everything else relies too much on luck to effectively work.

Is this lady a sex worker or something? Why would she have sex with someone she doesn't want to? This debate post sounds like you're advocating for this woman to be a prostitute or a sugar baby.

What's are the lines we hear from women all the time? " the past doesn't matter" or " don't hold women response for the past" " don't compete with a woman's past". If all that's true, then some guy paying of legal sex worker shouldn't be a problem at all then. He should be able to date if or when he gets the opportunity.

A lot of your posts seem to follow a pattern. First the descriptive “that’s just reality.” Then the defensive “women shouldn’t be blamed.” Those two together create the impression that you’re both explaining the system and protecting it.. Even if you see yourself as only doing the first. Your framing is basically market realism. Dating works like a market. The more interested side invests more effort. That’s not unfair it’s just supply and demand. Many men (including me) see it more as reciproca…

Didn't you make a post a while back about men have to compete to date? That if you don't compete, then don't get mad at women if they don't want those men. Not wanting to compete is unattractive, right? Natural selection at work. Isn't that what you said? Now it's men just like to compete for the sake of competition? Which one is it? is it both? Or is whatever position that benefits you.

Now I'm leaning towards you are looking for reinforcement. You narrowed the definition of repeating just now. "Topic wording is different therefore not repetition". The point was about repeated core themes not identical titles. “Thank you for demonstration” That’s just debate sarcasm. It doesn’t actually address the substance. “Anyway, you failed to answer my question.”Return to the original framing. Whoever controls the frame “wins", right? Trying to force the discussion back into the box you h…

I mean the wording of the posts changes, but the core themes or ideas are pretty similar and repeated several times. “Why blame women for liking attractive men?” “Men’s narratives about women are logically inconsistent” “Men misrepresent women’s motivations” "Men don’t hold other men accountable” “Why shouldn’t men listen to women” The specific questions change but the core themes keep circling around the same ideas. Mainly defending women’s autonomy in attraction and critiquing contradictions i…

"while many men want to know how to even get a chance, and women supposedly don't know that" Partially true. Women often state what makes them stay or feel good while in a relationship not what gets men pass the first filters or the opportunity to compete. "why men should listen only to men" I don't fully agree with this. The "only" is the part I have disagreement with. I think men's advice about getting past the initial thresholds or filters is more valuable. But once past those filters then wo…

For "the bar is in hell" comment. Always remember it means for men that make it pass the first threshold, which is physical attractiveness. Doesn't mean "Chad". Just their version of physical attraction.

Dating isn't fair. If you are not physical attractive standout then you are going to have to accept some unbalanced Dynamics in the beginning of dating. Paying for dates and planning stuff like that. But at some point the dynamic should slowly shift to a flow of back and forward. Not making the case to 50/50. A lot of men do get stuck in the "always paying" lane. A relationship of utility. Men do need to learn to filter for themselves at some point and not be filter. Learn to walk away when you …

Men with bad personalities are going to struggle with short term and long term relationships. Physically attractive men with only be able to have short term relationships. Also I'm not going to defend men with bad personalities. Dating is not fair. Men with lower physical attractiveness will need to develop other avenues of success.

From the male perspective, it can look like very attractive men sometimes get lower barriers to entry. Faster sex, less effort required, fewer standards enforced while average men are asked to demonstrate stability, patience, emotional maturity, planning. When those standards are framed as universal moral requirements, but appear flexible depending on attraction level it can trigger resentment and anger. That doesn’t make women evil. Strong attraction lowers friction. That’s human. But when men …

The “don’t listen to women, listen to men” advice isn’t meant to mean “listen to random unsuccessful guys.” The logic is “listen to people who get consistent results.” That can apply to men or women. The reason men say not to rely solely on women’s advice is because women often describe what makes them stay or feel good in a relationship not necessarily what gets a man through the initial filter, physical attraction or looks, Those are different stages. If hypergamy were strictly true in the ext…

I never argued that dating should be “fair” or that looks shouldn’t matter. Physical attraction operates as the initial threshold. Once someone clears that exposure creates opportunity, social skill determines conversion, and character determines retention and reciprocity. Effort matters but only after baseline attraction is met. What I was describing is how some men experience differences in standards depending on attraction level. When men observe that looks heavily affect early filtering and …

"Why blame women for being attracted to attractive men?” You’ve asked this several times in the post. I’ll give you my best shot at answering it fairly and honestly from a male point of view. I don't think most men aren’t angry that women are attracted to attractive men. Men are attracted to attractive women too.Where the friction usually comes from is perceived inconsistency. From a male perspective, it can look like very attractive men sometimes get lower barriers to entry. Faster sex, less ef…

Your stack idea is incomplete. Looks isn’t just a lever you keep pulling. It’s often a threshold. Especially on apps. Below a certain baseline more exposure just means more silent rejections. Social skill can’t even come into play if you’re not getting initial traction. Stacking looks to exposure to skill helps. But it’s uncertainty, not guaranteed. There are real caps and environment effects. An average guy can be above threshold in one social scene and completely filtered in another. Improveme…

I think this debate gets derailed because “accountability” gets interpreted in the most extreme way possible. When red pill guys say “women should take accountability,” what they usually means is If you consistently pick a certain type of guy own that pattern. If you reject certain men own that preference. If your standards filter out 80% of men accept that tradeoff. That’s it. It doesn’t mean sleep with men you don’t want. It doesn’t mean accept abuse. It doesn’t mean lose rights. It means if I c…

Its not unreasonable or unfair to say that some men get defensive when male behavior is criticized. That absolutely happens. But I don’t think that automatically proves a “men are wonderful” bias. When topics are framed broadly or with moral language like “men are not responsible” or “men are illogical”. People are going to feel personally attacked even if you say “not all men.” That doesn’t mean they think men are perfect. It can just mean they disagree with the framing or feel the critique ove…

I didn't shifted the topic. From the start I was questioning whether what you’re calling “men doing nothing” is actually men pushing back on a system where early effort is still heavily one sided. You say men don’t have to follow traditional rituals, but in the same breath you argue that if they want results, they logically should because supply/demand and attraction dynamics still reward that behavior. That’s basically saying the rituals are optional in theory but required in practice. I agree …

For average men who are not physical attractive standouts, dynamic environments often decrease the disadvantages from apps or nightclubs. Increasing your social presence in environments where women can see you over time is what works. "Just join hobbies" is bad or incomplete advice.

I want to make sure I’m understanding your position correctly, because the framing shifted a bit. Earlier the argument sounded moral, that men who question initiation or effort are entitled, lazy, whining. Now it sounds more structural, that supply/demand and responsive desire simply make initiation strategically necessary for men, whether it’s fair or not. If the core point is just “this is how the incentives work adapt or lose visibility,” then that’s a math argument and I can respect that. Bu…

I think the friction isn’t that men want to “do nothing.” It’s that deconstructing gender norms hasn’t been even. Traditional male obligations like provider, initiator, payer are optional now. That’s fine. But traditional male attractiveness expectations are still very much active. So when men question effort expectations, they’re not saying “I should be attractive without trying.” They’re questioning why certain norms were dismantled while others stayed intact. If someone prefers traditional co…

I’m not saying you’re asking for “high quality matches” in some unrealistic or negative way. I’m saying the combo of filters + how Hinge surfaces profiles creates a really small, chaotic pool where ghosting is just more likely. Each stack cuts the pool down. So even if each filter is reasonable on its own, together they make consistency rarer. That’s the compound effect I was getting at. You’ve mentioned wanting younger, less experienced, shy student type guys. Suggested they might be more willin…

You’ve narrowed your pool a lot at the same time you’re asking apps to give you high-quality consistent matches. ENM + narrow age range + short distance + skinny + discreet or no face pics + FWB expectations = a really small slice of men. That doesn’t mean you should change what you want, but it does mean ghosting and flakiness are going to be way more common just because the overlap is small. A reframe of thinking as to why this could be happening. A match doesn’t mean much on apps. It’s litera…

It might help but I'm not 100% convinced. I think a quick video chat before any date would be more helpful. Or even video chat to plan the date would be better. That way they know it's harder to fake and its zero effort or zero commitment just to take a video chat real quick.

Those are the easy ones to spot. The good scammers are now using a multi-layer approach to dating apps now. Using people search engines to steal pics. The people search engines helps them ID people that are hard to find. Then they use a simple bot of low level social engineering. If the person asks "trick" questions then the bot with switch to an AI model to make it more believable.

"Not serious" means men view the person with the profile as not serious with intent. Even if that intent is hook-ups or FWB. The person with the profile is just killing time or bored. Which does happen quite a bit. Some people even make anonymous profiles to view what their options are even while dating/relationship.

The app definitely pushes profiles that get a lot of engagement. That usually means conventionally attractive/muscular guys get shown more. Those guys also tend to have more options so they ghost more. It’s not that only muscular guys are on there just it’s that they’re amplified. Most guys on dating apps assume women are talking to multiple matches at once. So they don’t invest too hard early on. That can look like ghosting but sometimes it’s just low attachment. Anonymous profiles and no face …

The core idea of af/bb is many men experience different treatment depending on how much raw attraction a woman feels for them. That difference feels unfair when Past partners got spontaneous sexual enthusiasm. Then Current partner only gets stability/safety. Men interpret this as “I am the backup plan”. Stability/safety is not consolation prize energy in healthy adult relationships. When some men say “dancing monkey,” they’re not saying they hate women. They’re describing the feeling of front loading effort without knowing if interest is mutual. The issue is the phrasing makes it sound like basic dating is degrading which understandably rubs women the wrong way. A better presentation for the argument is "early dating can feel like a unbalanced dynamic, and men sometimes struggle with not knowing when effort is being reciprocated." That doesn’t mean women are wrong to filter…

Your framing guarantees gender war replies. Yeah, some men say they’re “desperate” but still have standards. That’s not hypocrisy though. It just means they’re not attractive to the women they want. That’s a normal human experience. Women complain about “where are all the good men” while filtering out a ton of men too. Same dynamic. The real issue isn’t standards. Everyone has them. The issue is when either side pretends they don’t, or acts like the other side’s standards are immoral while their…

Online dating made the competition obvious. When you can literally see the imbalance, self improvement isn’t insecurity, it’s adaptation. Improving because you want to grow is solid. Improving because you’re terrified of rejection is probably not healthy in the long run. Red Pill is right that the market can be ruthless. It’s wrong that self improvement guarantees anything. It just lets you compete.

Most men aren’t mad that women have standards. Sleep early, wait, don’t wait, date hot guys, or don’t date hot guys. The frustration usually comes from mixed signals, unclear intent, and unbalanced expectations. Not from women’s choices themselves. Women don’t need to date men they’re not attracted to or move at any specific pace. But if attraction is tentative or conditional be honest about that instead of keeping someone in the dark while they’re already invested. Women don’t need to only date…

Let me check if that I’m understanding your position correctly. In uneven dating environments like apps or strangers men should expect to compete first. Initiate, plan, pay, and generally demonstrate value before interest is clearly shown. Reciprocity comes later once attraction is secured. If a man doesn’t want to do that, opting out is fine but he shouldn’t expect results. If that’s correct, then my position is simply different. But not oppositional. I’m fine with putting in effort to be visib…

I've never strung along a woman. Especially with the label of girlfriend. But I've hooked up with women, that I had no intention of being serious. But that was mutual. The line for me was never doing anything for her that a boyfriend should do. My example was don't call me if tire pops, your stuck on the side of the road and need help. That's not me. Call AAA.

Her behavior is unacceptable, but men also need to stop buying into relationships where their value is purely transactional. Loneliness can make people tolerate dynamics that harm them, and that’s something men should be honest about without blaming women as a group. If you’re dating, learn the difference between control first vs mutual first dynamics. Real relationships are built on reciprocity, not on constantly proving your worth. Care without mutual effort isn’t romantic, it’s unsustainable.

In practice, I’m never going to know how she treated her exes unless I interrogate her about them and that would be a weird and unhealthy dynamic. I’m looking at the present. All I can really do is set my own boundaries for what feels like mutual effort and genuine connection now, and decide whether I want to keep investing based on that. Desire and choice can change over time and they don’t always move in lockstep. Some people are fine with that dynamic, others aren’t. That’s not about proof or…

I think this is a good place to close this, because at this point the disagreement isn’t about misunderstanding. It’s about fundamentally different assumptions. My position has never been that desire should “appear on its own,” that people shouldn’t invest, or that attraction isn’t co-created. The point has always been how an adult decides whether attraction and effort are becoming mutual, and when it’s reasonable to stop investing if they aren’t. That’s where we diverge. What keeps happening in…

I think you’re arguing against a version of my comment I didn’t actually make. This wasn’t about demanding reassurance, grading a partner, or sitting back while someone “proves” their worth. It was about how adults interpret behavior to decide whether a relationship feels mutually desired or quietly transactional and whether it makes sense to continue investing if it doesn’t. That’s not insecurity. That’s discernment. Saying “she chose you” isn’t a substitute for desire. People choose partners f…

I’m not arguing that women owe relationships, explanations, or justification for who they’re attracted to. I’m not saying women should compromise desire, lower standards, or accept men they don’t want. Economic pressure has changed dating markets globally, not just in the U.S. That has increased material expectations in dating. We’re already seeing the early version of AI/robot dating, and it’s not just men. Women are participating too.So does the same logic apply to them? Are they also fumbling chances or not wanting to dating in their lane? Do we suddenly accept that some people just don’t have viable options in the current dating market? The issue isn’t that some men mess up opportunities. It happens. The issue is that this argument is constantly used to erase the existence of people who don’t get opportunities at a…

From the same article "White people still hold a disproportionate share of the top, highly paid jobs in the US at S&P 100 companies. But the share of executive, managerial and professional roles held by people of color increased by about 2 percentage points compared with 2020 — more than double the average annual gains at big and mid-sized US companies in previous years."

No one deserves anything. Isn't that the line from the blue pill? Well it applies here too. "a real man wouldn't be intimidated" Does the blue pill believe in gender shaming into coerced behavior? I thought they were against that? Or is it one of those "rule for thee but not for me" things? No one likes a hypocrite. This lady can do whatever she wants in dating from a single mother. But men can also do whatever they want. Most men aren't going to want to deal with 5 kids. That's a lot.

Ai will be used for maximum engagement for maximum profit. What the results might be for matches or dates so be it. I do think at some point dating apps will offer AI partners to keep even 0 match people paying something. It will use AI images based on profiles and AI messages based on real messages from users. Offering a wide number of personalities and appearances. All within the app while trying to match with someone real. Next level dystopian stuff.

Your anecdotal experience isn't evidence. There are academic papers written about how dating apps use match throttling to encourage users to pay for premium features to boost their engagement. The match group has a monopoly on dating apps. They have no incentive to help people find a partner. There only incentive is to "encourage" users into paying for features. Extract as much money from the user as possible while they engage with the platform.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/25 06:00 AM

Disagree. Majority of dating apps are owned by one company. The match group. It's a Monopoly. They do whatever they want to get maximum engagement. Telling men to be more selective on dating app isn't going to help. Doesn't matter anymore. The feed and algorithm is rigged to the max. Won't change anything.

You made that " best sex with toxic guys" a little bit or so right? After reading all the comments in the linked posts. I've adjusted my advice for young men. God damn that second thread is horrific. So many women straight up admitting that they married horrible toxic men just for sex. That after they explosive divorce they had to train their next partner just to be good enough. That's adbb stuff. If this is the truth it won't be self esteem issues. I don't get it either why so many women are against sex worker. It's not like you want to sleep with these men anyways, at least someone gets paid for it. Also I also think a lot more women would buy sex if they had a better stable options. Saying “same socioeconomic level as my family” and “any entry-level job is fine” sounds open to class-mixing, but it isn’t. Socioeconomic status isn’t just a paycheck. It bundles background, education, occupation, and wealth. A cultural/education match and not “any job" match. Again, totally fine to want someone from the same class. Just call it what it is, instead of framing it as open when it’s not.

"same socioeconomic level as my family, have a job (any job at all)" These our contradictory statements. I bet between two equally attractive men. One a doctor and the other a pizza delivery guy. Most men are irritated about the dishonesty then the standard itself.

One point I've seen here and repeated on other subreddits is, trauma dumping doesn't equal vulnerability. Like it's some type of proper counter argument that other women not actually wanting to do the work of emotional needs for their partners. I think this is one of the points that women don't have a leg to stand on. How many posts on other subreddits are there about men getting dump after crying in of there girlfriend for the first time. I have experience this when I was younger after the pass…

I don't think vulnerability is the issue. From my experience a lot of women don't/ can't do their share emotional needs/labor. Of all of my past relationships and dating I think only two of them were willing to put my emotional needs/labor at the same level as there's. I don't blame the other women for being bad partners. They live in a system that doesn't require them to care or put effort into male emotional needs/labor. On the other side is so many men have lived without it. It's seem odd or …

I've only seen irl "You're husband material" in two contexts. 1. When a woman is rejecting a man. It's a polite way of saying " you are not for me but for someone else". Second variation is when someone in the social group is complaining about a failed relationship and the women in the group with say it as a way to lift the spirits of the person. 2. This is the version I have experienced. It's been state over and over again. Boils down to " you are stable and I think you can provide a good life …

I've learned this lesson the hard way. A couple of women I dated in the past, all masters level education or above, weren't actually attracted to me. In their words they saw all this potential in me and were planning on molding me into someone they could control. I was a vessel to something "acceptable". This was the plan since they men they where attracted to didn't want them. The fights that would happen when I pushed back against being manipulated were crazy. They couldn't understand why I wa…

Feminism doesn't own or control the concept of equal rights based on gender or sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/25 05:27 PM

The "Pop culture" version of feminism will always defend feminism as a whole because to them feminism means gender/sex equality. Any one who attacks feminism doesn't want gender/sex equality. They have zero incentive to criticize feminism. For them feminism works. It helps them achieve their goals. Until you can provide real evidence that feminism is wrong for both men and women and a viable second path for gender/sex equality. Feminism will never leave. Complaining about it all online does noth…

Most women over 30 will catch on fairly quickly that they are being strung along, if they end goal is marriage and children. From my experience with dating, women who say "the bar is hell" fall into two camps. First is the women you can't pick out men or dates correctly. This can be subdivided into at fault and not at fault. Some people are just bad at picking up on other people being terrible. Some people are really good at hiding it. The at-fault people in this group usually have "an attractio…

They try but it will fail. The left wing would have to admit that feminism isn't for both men and women. It's for women by women. It would be a start if they're just honest about it. The left and feminism has not connected with young men at all. They need to change to an egalitarian approach. Young kids don't understand or comprehend the gendered imbalance across the workforce. They just see that they are ignored while others receive more time and effort. Don't try to tell me that feminism is fo…

Single Millennial here, I used to think it was possible to date people of other political groups. But as I've gotten older, I don't want to deal with the differences anymore. It just makes life a little easier when someone is in the same political thinking. I understand it will shrink the dating pool for me. I won't date someone from a conservative religious standpoint or a feminist one. I'm not an "enlightened centralist". I just don't want to have to live by a 2000 old book and I grew up in a …
