It's really not that hard for a parent to have a say in all the things you rattled off. You have to fuck up in some way to be both on the hook for child support and totally excluded from raising the child.

Never will. It's a nice thought, but women having autonomy of their body, e.g. being able to abort, also means autonomy to refuse needles and such poked into them to sample for DNA and paternity. Full blown socialism is the closest you'll get because it's the state that has an interest in enforcing child support. The money comes from the parents or from everybody. It will never come from just the mother, and I objectively don't think it should.

/u/nht94 I got divorced in Texas this year, and it's not really accurate to say the child support figure is set in stone. My ex agreed to a figure that is less than 25% for two children, and it's because we agreed on that. If the AG office gets involved in the future for whatever reason, then yes, I believe it's unavoidable they'll follow the formula.

I'm going to offer a different take because I like to play devil's advocate. Ever notice how women tend to poorly emulate and bastardize what they think of as men's roles? The pantsuit is a fine example: Woman wants business power, powerful man wears suit that enhances his masculine image, so woman wears hybrid suit that totally detracts from her feminine image. Sometimes they think they have to follow their idea of a certain form, and they totally butcher it. Now, consider this. Your friend kno…

I'd head over to /r/Divorce for support. Sorry you're going through this. If you have decent credit, I suggest you get a Chase sapphire preferred card and use that for the retainer. It will give you $500 back for spending that money. If you can borrow from someone/somewhere else to make pay the credit card bill and avoid interest, all the better. I finalized divorce last month. Whole thing cost $2300 in attorney's fees. I did my damndest to come to terms with the ex and put it to paper instead o…

Step back a second. You're a horse breeder. You have 10 stallions and 10 mares. Do you pair them up to produce offspring, or do you pick your two best males and let them go to town? There's nothing unnatural or wrong about women wanting to fuck the best men and vice versa. A woman's choice to mate potentially locks her in to a years long commitment to rear a child. A man's choice means an orgasm and moving on. Clearly, women would be foolish to be less selective, and the whole human race would b…

AJ is a toxic piece of garbage. I've been aware of him for 20 some odd years because I'd hear him on FM radio. During the Clinton administration he was dead certain that Clinton was going to declare martial law and take over the country. Black helicopters everywhere. He makes mentally unstable people even more ill. Fuck him. He has his freedom of speech, still. Anyone living in 2018 has the farthest reach and greatest potential to spout off their ideas that any human being in history has ever ha…

Here's my advice to you. Set yourself some personal rules and expectations. You don't have to go full blown monk/hermit to spare yourself many of the blue pill pains. Here are what I would consider to be essentials to remember if you do have interest in a woman. Maintain separate residences. Spend your money exactly how you want to. Spend your time how you want to. Avoid pregnancy. Keep friendships with other single males. Don't compromise on long term goals.

You're all misogynists LOL you say this with no hint of irony right after suggesting that I don't speak for all men. If being a home owning, tax paying, job holding member of my community and raising two children on my own fits your preconceived notion of who I am, color me surprised. Having been privy to many male friendships over the years, I can guarantee you that the overwhelming majority of men would want nothing to do with women if they had no beauty. I've got one from over 10 years ago. I still feel bad about it if it crosses my mind. My girlfriend was giving me crap in bed about not doing the dishes. She was right, I wasn't working, didn't do shit around the apartment for a long, long time. She was getting fed up with me. I eventually had enough and got up and began angrily unloading the dishwasher. She came out and apologized for nagging (she almost never nagged like that) and said she wanted to help do dishes with me. It just pissed me of…

We disagree with you on all aspects of life This is where I think men could do a little better. We could be more honest. Women will say that men only want them for their bodies, and men should be more honest and say, "Yep, you know, that's pretty much spot on." When men's testosterone levels out with age or our partners start looking like shit, we come to our senses and realize we've traded our freedom and possibilities for the pleasure of a woman's body.

By my state's AG calculator, this guy would be making $75k/year paying $450/month for kid's health insurance and $900/month child support. That leaves him $3600/month in net resources. Doesn't sound like he's on skid row, just bitching.

My childhood was great. I lived in a safe neighborhood with roughly 10 boys around the same age. We had a vacant lot and a creek. A level driveway with a basketball goal. NES. Fucking frisbees. We had it all. We had each other. Middle school hit, and the gang split up. We got interested in cussing, clothes, and "cool". We got interested in girls. My life has sucked ever since (and I'm 37). The brightest spot since then was in college in study abroad when I had a group of guys who could barely sp…

When the food comes, excitedly declare, "Last one to finish pays the bill!" Then enthusiastically and efficiently scarf down your meal like you're at boot camp. When you finish, throw down your napkin on the plate, stand up, chug your beverage to completion and let out your best Ric Flair "WHOOO!" Chunk a deuce, say, "Much obliged, bitch," and go watch some basketball at home. Do this every time you have a date (she can call an Uber if you drove her to the restaurant).

It's funny, I went out to water my plants this evening, which I do every evening now since it's so hot here, and it took 10 minutes. As I came inside the house, I thought to myself, "Geez, I do this every day with pleasure but can hardly force myself to spend 10 minutes a day doing dishes." Obviously my time outside is precious because the rest of the day I'm stuck indoors, disconnected from nature.

It's a human condition. I suppose it hits harder for males because modern life is much more "domestic" than how we'd ideally live out our days. We ought to be traveling long distances by foot every day, making things with our hands, building things, cooking over a fire, playing music, telling stories.

The way I see it, there is a mixed bag, here. What you will find a lot of is unsubstantiated, bitter maxims and declarations about female nature. What you will not find is a culture of even-handed, reasoned discussion. It's pretty ugly and occasionally funny. I see this place (on the sub, anyway) as a forum for venting without much risk of being questioned and critiqued. That's fine for this subject matter, because the "call to action", so to speak, is basically to ignore a certain group of peop…

From a breeding perspective, unless you're going for miniaturization, a woman that short should definitely not mate with a man that short. I'm 6' 4" and always seemed to go for short girls. Maybe subconsciously I didn't want freakishly tall offspring, or maybe having a tall sister turned me off to taller girls.

I don't know how we got to where we are. Maybe WWII showed us that women were capable of doing more types of work than previously thought since they had to fill jobs for wartime production while the men were out fighting and dying. Let's not pretend that men don't want the top 20% of women, too, though. For that reason, I'm not sure this is solid "theory," as you put it.

An old man told his grandson his proudest hunting story. One time I went hunting, got all packed up and drove out to the woods, and when I got there, I realized I had forgotten my gun. Not wanting to waste the day, I took my hiking stick and went for a long walk along the river. As I sat on a rock, resting and enjoying the summer breeze, I saw a beaver walk onto the shore. Daydreaming of hunting, I lifted up my walking stick like a rifle, aimed it, and yelled, "Bang!" You won't believe me, but I…

You say it's about accepting personal responsibility, which is fine. I say it's also about accepting reality. In reality, unplanned pregnancy occurs. In reality, neither the mother nor the father win in a situation where abortion is made illegal. In reality, the majority of unplanned pregnancies that lead to birth of a child result in a man who had no say in the matter paying out of pocket for a long, long time. How does that help a man? Go ahead, accept responsibilty for 18 years of scraping to…

I haven't spent a ton of time in Houston because it's like 4 hours away. Which brings me to a salient point: everything is fucking far away in Texas. It's hard to get out of the state. But back to your question, from what I understand, Houston has strange zoning regulations, or actually lack of regulations, which makes it kind of a big sprawling mess. It's not as structured as many large cities, I think. Wish I could give you more details. I'm sure the major cities have their own subreddits, and…

I'm a Texan and not surprised so many Californians like it, here. My dad is from California, in fact, so I guess I'm a 2nd gen transplant in a way. I've lived in Austin or near Austin most of my life, and my (soon to be ex) wife is from Denton. Austin is overrated. Denton isn't a bad place to be. This ethical question has nothing to do with MGTOW. If a man is walking down the street with a muffin, gets full and discards it, a bum who picks it out of the trash does nothing wrong. If the same bum walks past, grabs the muffin out of the man's hand and throws it in the gutter, it's a crime all of a sudden. Same muffin, same people...what gives? Muffin eaters are mental. This isn't a red hat circle jerk. Keep your pea brained politics to yourself.

I get it. The other day I was wearing some black and gray striped dress socks at work. A guy noticed, and I joked, "Yeah, I'm at the end of my laundry, haha." These socks are actually very low key compared to some of the other crazy socks I have, so it caught me off guard when the women in the room mused, "Maybe those socks are the reason you're getting divorced." I didn't miss a beat. I replied, "No, it means I can wear whatever socks I want!"

This reminded me of something I haven't thought of in a while. There was a girl I was hanging out with who was a mooch. After driving her to the liquor store, she asked for a KFC "famous bowl," which I got for her. My buddy who was riding with us started steaming, even though I didn't realize it. By the time we got to his apartment, our destination, he was super pissed about her mooching behavior. I've read that in theater, there's often no time to launder costumes between performances, so they spray a strong alcohol like vodka or everclear on the fabric. It kills bacteria and dries without odor. I've been meaning to try it—maybe someone else can weigh in.

I'm in the middle of a divorce. As you may expect, finances were a point of conflict for years. We were both supposed to take a modest "budget" every month for personal expenses. I would save mine, she would blow through hers before she was supposed to withdraw it, then keep spending. When she got a better paying job (still less than me) she decided the budget was double, against my protests. Even then, she could not reign in her spending. I finally insisted on separate accounts. Since 8 months …

Lol I love that. Perhaps less eloquently, "Don't expect anything from your woman. You don't have a woman." I'm willing to tone down the rhetoric a little to get to the truth, which is that men expect to have a woman be like a pet dog, which is unconditionally loving for life. Women also think of men as dogs, but only in the sense that dogs smell an eligible woman and want to go mate with her, or that dogs are basically friendly to anyone just like men are basically interested in any woman. We do…

My understanding is that comingled funds making mortgage payments is what would require you to owe 50%. Say you made a down payment of $20k, then immediately got married and ended up with a total equity of $80k by the time you divorced. In that case, your part should be $50k and hers $30k.

I'm trying to find an illustration that's halfway decent. Let's say women are like wild horses. They can be dangerous depending on how you approach them, and if you try to mount one, they could very easily buck you off and injure you. Should you hate wild horses? No, not really, though I'd understand wanting to avoid them. There are, of course, men who mount and ride these horses quite handily. That could even be you some day if you committed to it, but it's up to you if it's worth the effort. M…
