I don't think the VA is a private entity, but I could be wrong. The same argument could be made for military payroll as a whole (not sure of the gender split, but there's gotta be more guys). The difference is that in that case, the government is acting as an employer paying employees. In the PP case, the government is acting as a philanthropist giving donations. Back to the original point, it could be easily argued that the costs of running the VA are just continued post-service employment cost…

main stream porn is pretty much rape. Just to clarify, I disagree with that statement. I agree that under the feminist definition of rape, any porn shoot could be considered rape because under the feminist definition of rape, it isn't consent that matter, but the reasoning and logic behind the giving of that consent.

It's kind of analogous to the "nothing good happens after 2:00am" theory. If you make life choices that put you in situations where bad shit can happen to you, then I'll have less sympathy for you when bad shit happens. It sucks. Deen doesn't deserve to be falsely accused. Stoya doesn't deserve to be raped. But I just don't have time or desire in my life to deal with or worry about people who are dealing with the consequences of their own bad life choices. There's plenty of bad shit happening to…

If only there were a reporter out there who would be willing to ask Hillary whether she believes Paula Jones, Genifer Flowers, Kathleen Willey, Juanita Broaddrick, Elizabeth Gracen, Dolly Browning, etc. etc. etc. And, if so, the follow up question would be why she continued to be married to (and permitted her adolescent daughter to live with) a serial rapist. Do people just forget that Bill Clinton was accused of multiple sexual assaults? Do people forget that Hillary is married to Bill Clinton?

She is hard enough to look at with clothes on for god's sake. I can only imagine that Anne Lebowitz had a puke bucket close by and everyone else had to leave the room during that shoot.

Unfortunately, this is my reaction as well. I had never heard of Stoya, and the first reports I saw spelled in James Dean. So I originally thought is was decades-old accusations against the 1960's rebel. When I realized it was the porn James Deen - who I've never actually seen and don't really know who he is outside of reddit discussions - I didn't really care. With the fluid definitions of "rape" and "consent" that are bandied about by feminists these days, I'd venture to say that virtually any…

They won't be able to think of after. (Or whatever.) Not exactly sure what you mean by that. There are also some 20 year olds (or 40 year olds) that aren't mentally mature enough to make rational decisions about sex. Our current laws punish the person who has sex with a 16 year old who is mentally mature enough to make rational, valid, good decisions about sex (and those same laws also oppress that 16 year old). But our current laws don't punish the same person who has sex with a mentally unstab…

I can't foresee a situation where a 10 year old could give consent that I (or a judge) would consider to be informed and valid, but if such a 10 year old exists, it would oppress him/her to deny him/her the right to engage in sex with a 30 year old if that is what they wanted to do in their own, personal pursuit of happiness.
/r/MensRights20/11/15 08:49 PM

Yes. We should not have statutory rape laws. Rape of a 15 year old should be defined no differently than rape of a 25 year old. Rape is rape. Consent is consent.

But if you are suggesting that, in the case where a man and woman disagree about what should be done about a pregnancy, that the man should be able to have the final say, I disagree 100%. I'm saying that the man should have final say about how the pregnancy and subsequent child birth affect him. Just like women have final say about how the pregnancy and (potential) subsequent child birth affect her.

A man should never be legally allowed to tell a woman to give birth or abort Is there anywhere in this thread that I (or anyone else for that matter) has suggested anything contrary to this? As a way to give a voice to women who are not represented in these institutions. Again, unless you're sexist and believe that men and women are different (and therefore not equal), it does not require a woman to represent a man's interest not a man to represent a man's interest.

I have had no problem discussing men's issues with feminists The problem is, you have no idea what "men's issues" are. Sure, you bring up not having enough men in the nursing profession with feminists and you'll get enough to fall over themselves say "Yes, yes, we need to fix that. By breaking down societal gender expectations, we can help both men and women". you shouldn't be able to force a woman to subject her body to pregnancy if she doesn't want to Is anyone in this thread suggesting that? Equality" is a misnomer, but one we all use anyway. What we mean when we say "equality" is actually "fairness." So you're saying it is fair for a guy and a girl to have sex. Then when the girl gets pregnant she can choose: Abort without telling the father Abort and tell the father Adopt the child and say she doesn't know who the father is Adopt the child and tell the father that's what she's doing Keep the child without telling the father, giving him no access to his child, or Keep the child and…

Was bolding the word legally not sufficient for you to understand that I was asking about legal oppression? That said, it is still widely accepted that consent is optional. In other words, "non-consensual sex" is not seen as synonymous with "rape," which is much more harmful toward women. No. That is not the case. If someone has non-consensual sex, that is rape. There is no doubt about that in society, and certainly no ambiguity about that in the law. Of course, some feminists (not you, I'm sure…

Ultimately, I think the woman should have the final say So you actively oppose giving men and women equality with regards to reproductive rights. How does that jive with the feminist lie that "feminism is just about equality"? men holding a majority of high power jobs (in law, business, medicine, etc), which naturally leads to more focus placed on male needs when it comes to the government and services. I'm disturbed by the editorializing in that link. It's fine to report a study showing that many men don't have close friends. The big question is, why in the fuck are WE marrying down, why are WE subsidizing women all the time, why are WE not having the same standards. Because vagina. it would be solved however if rape outside of relationships stopped right? The vast majority of false rape claims are situations where a woman regrets giving consent. They aren't cases like UVA or Duke Lacrosse where some woman just completely makes up a false rape story out of nothingness.

I'm curious as to how you know the history of my finances. Because you just told us. It is pretty basic household budgeting. You figure out how much money you have coming in, and then you spend less than that. how shitty is it to get a divorce because someone can't get their act together with their work? Getting divorced doesn't solve this problem, does it? If you get divorced, you lose all the benefits but continue to have the legal obligation to financially support your (ex) wife.

It is interesting the way they presented the example: ...Tom's hands are on Gemma's face. He manoeuvres himself on top of Gemma, who remains rigidly still and silent. Tom puts his hands on the back of Gemma's neck and puts his penis in her mouth. That's the end of the description. I have a tough time with that. For starters, it seems that it would be rather challenging to put a penis in the mouth of a conscious person who truly did not want that penis in his/her mouth. What happens next is reall…

Only 40%? Hasn't pretty much everyone under age 45 considered suicide at some point in their life? Always just thought that was normal.

What makes you think /r/askwomen (or, more specifically, the mods there) has any interest in equality?

You are banned from /r/askwomen when you post something that a moderator doesn't like. It is as simple as that. They can call anything a generalization or invalidating if they want. You're trying to use reason and logic where none exists.

Here's a fucked up idea: If someone offers you some tea and you don't want tea, fucking tell them you don't want tea!!!!! Don't think they can read your mind and then be all pissy when they hand you a cup of tea.

IMHO "Equal work" is unquantifiable. As is "equal pay". What is important to the individual worker? More cash, more flexible schedules, less travel, more travel, an expense report, a company car, health insurance, holidays, first shift, etc. etc. etc.? Just because Bob makes $18/hour and Jill makes $17/hour, it does not mean that their pay - their overall compensation package - is not equal.

My big mistake was flippant use of the word "blame". I really just should have said that confronting someone who calls a cyclist and asshole, or presenting facts to a feminist, is a useless & pointless waste of time and energy.

Some individuals Yes, and those individuals are wrongly trying to redefine rape and consent to further vilify men.

Except it is still asking the wrong question. The only thing that matter is did he consent to sex. You don't have to ask him in order to know whether or not he consented.

No, it's his fault because as a cyclist he should understand that there is nothing to be gained by confronting anyone who questions you. That's like rule #1 of cycling. If you aren't a cyclist, I wouldn't expect you to understand. It's like getting upset because you're debating a feminist using facts and she ignores your facts and tells you as a mouth breath neckbeard you can't understand women. Sure, she may be wrong, but you're still at fault because rule #1 is don't debate feminists. If you a…

As a cyclist, there is nothing positive to be gained by confronting someone who calls you an "asshole" or otherwise questions your cycling maneuvers. Just keep your head down and keep pedaling. This case really boils down to a he-said, she-said. Regardless of gender, I put the blame on the cyclist because he responded to her bullying. Dude, just keep your head down and keep pedaling.

It depends upon the who the accuser makes the accusation to (police, college, friends, etc.) and whether anyone believes the accuser. If no one believes her, it should have minimal impact on your life.

Maybe no men went because men already know how to prevent rape. It certainly does say something about feminism though when free pizza can't even get college guys to hang around with feminists for 90 minutes.

What it will take is the unintended consequences of feminism to take hold and start negatively affecting women. Start subjecting substantial numbers of women to lifetime alimony rather than having women be 97% of alimony recipients and you'll get alimony reform. Have women be denied custody of their children while paying exorbitant child support to their baby-daddy; throw a few women in jail for their inability to pay child support and we'll get child support reform. Have a few women be forced t…
