What exactly do you think TRP is? I only browse TRP occasionally but I've never seen anyone say that women are only ever attracted to looks... if anything, rather the opposite (i.e. they believe looks are a relatively minor factor compared to force of personality, etc.) Maybe I don't understand what you're trying to say...?

I don't think that's true. NASA is still rather male-dominated, and their rationale is that further human missions to the moon offer very marginal benefit over what a robot could do (and even then, there are higher priorities for explanation). Furthermore, NASA actively wants to put humans on Mars in the 2030's and is working towards that with intermediary goals, so the spirit is definitely still there.

I agree. The difference is that this bar is basing the strategy on feminist rhetoric, rather than the more patriarchal "get lots of women in here for male pleasure" approach.

Putting on muscle shouldn't be radically different on a vegetarian diet. You can still get high calories from milk, ice-cream, butter, peanut butter, etc. and get high protein from some natural sources (I hear lentils are good) or supplement with protein shakes. You should obviously still learn to cook, but it's not really essential going if you can stand doing a pretty dirty bulk. Getting substantially leaner while retaining muscle on a vegetarian diet might be problematic - I can't think of ma…

I would never tell a partner I thought they were gaslighting me.

OP is viewing the world thru a mainstream/feminist lens. It's mainstream insofar as I acknowledge that men can make mistakes, and communication is important in relationships. It's feminist insofar as I acknowledge that gaslighting exists as a form of abuse. It's TRP insofar as I argue that gaslighting can be deliberately used as a sexual strategy by women, or falsely rationalised to make them feel better about themselves, and that greater male control and guidance can help rectify potential harm…

It's a balance of both. In my experience, dream game and other PUA approaches work wonderfully for ramping up attraction, and should absolutely be kept chambered. The point is that they work by creating massive emotional surges in the girl (so she "hamsters"), which can be a double edged sword if allowed to run wild. If your plate fucks up, absolutely tell her off for it and run the standard dread game. I am suggesting that you also do so with such a strong frame and memory that she cannot possi…

Improving yourself is abusive? Absolutely not, and you're deliberately trying to strawman me. I never said the entirety of dread game was abusive, let alone improving yourself. Deliberately trying to fuck with someone's psyche, however, which can constitute gaslighting, could be abusive. I recognise that TRP is amoral, so I didn't press the issue; you're simply trying to score points here. We don't have any problems with girls trying to gaslight us, but the point of it is that they're not respec…

On the contrary, it makes it much easier to hold your frame. If you are 100% certain your memory is serving you correctly, it's a lot harder for any "puppy dog eyes" etc. routine (where she's trying to appear innocently let down by a mistake you've made) to make you doubt yourself.

Hey mate, what's your name on Duolingo? I'm also learning Spanish there (and on Memrise too) but have topped my leaderboard of actual friends and could use some more competition.

I'm mentioning it because OP was wondering about why TRP is perceived negatively by others, and the often seemingly angry / bitter / frustrated tone of TRP posts may be a cause. It's 100% relevant to the topic. I'm also a bloke...

are you telling me that we are not aloud to be bitter and angry after making horrible experiences? No, I didn't say or imply anything of the sort.

Go back and read the quotes I highlighted. You are 100% aware that phrases like "why is this so hard to understand?" can come across as confrontational; you don't need to pretend otherwise to win internet points bud.

You knew perfectly well that I didn't mean literally using one's voice, don't play semantics for the hell of an internet argument. Of course I'm not pretending everyone interprets text the same way, which is why I repeatedly said "sound like", "seem", "coming across" etc. to refer to my particular interpretation of his words. Here's the key point - even if my interpretation of his words is incorrect, the fact that it's very easy to (mis)interpret them as bitter / frustrated is relevant to the to…

You don't think some TRPers speaking with bitter / abrasive tones might be relevant to some people perceiving TRP as full of hate?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/15 12:00 AM

It wasn't an ad hominem, since I wasn't using your tone to argue against your point (and in fact I outright agreed with you). I was simply noting that you didn't seem particularly open to other points of view and had a bit of an abrasive tone.

You sound like you're here to preach, not really to debate: Don't you think it's time to consider that the concept of equality is getting to your head and diluting your line of thought? Why is this so hard to understand? Why are these contradictions in logic and thought so common and acceptable to the general public? I agree that TRP philosophy isn't inherently full of hate, but you (personally) are coming across as a bit bitter / frustrated.

I noted that smoking doesn't always look classy. 99% of the time, I find it disgusting. However, there's that 1% of the time where someone pulls it off stylishly and I'm looking to emulate that. And yeah, I noted that I don't need little things to be cool, etc. Idle question.
/r/seduction28/04/15 07:14 AM

I would argue the opposite. As far as I'm aware (not old enough to know personally), cigs were generally considered stylish in an era where the health risks were still mostly unknown and cig companies were still pushing health benefits. Now that cancer risk is common knowledge, cigs are increasingly uncool.

I'm surprised you quit Starting Strength so early. I was a pretty average lifter while on SS (medium height and frame, so-so diet, only decent sleep schedule) and made 315x1 squat and 405x2 deadlift before progress stalled for good (after about 8 months training). Most athletes in Rip's gym seem to lift much higher before they have to move on.

Good for you mate, glad you're doing well. Breakups are a massive opportunity and my life has never been more fulfilling / challenging since breaking up with my girl (4 year relationship) about two months ago now. Few reasons why: Emotional leverage - You can channel any pain, frustration, or distress (directed either at yourself or the ex) into productive activities. Physical training is probably the easiest, but any activity can be framed as an outlet for your emotions. If you're feeling venge…

When the check comes, waiting for her to make a move first is pretty passive and awkward. I'd get out your wallet either way. If she offers to split, easy - take it. If she doesn't offer, I'd almost always get her to split anyway. You can just tell her to (and look at her weirdly if she doesn't, like it's a massive faux pas), or only give cash for your half of the bill, or tell the bar staff she'll pay separately... a lot of options. If she freaks out about it or has obviously planned not to pay…

Buying gifts should be your initiative and tied to qualification. Initiative: DO buy things spontaneously, if you feel like it DO make the buying decision (e.g. you choose the shot) DO reward her at unconventional times DON'T buy if she asks for it or demands it DON'T buy if she's obviously planned around it (no wallet, etc.) DON'T buy if it's socially expected (e.g. you've just said hello) Qualification: DO buy if she's genuinely sweet, to reward / condition this DO buy to build rapport (e.g. y…

Getting young women to want you on a physical level comes down to genetics and a bit of time in the gym. Anything more than that and you're just desperately trying to grasp on for hope. You're making excuses to avoid personal development. Under your philosophy, all you have to do is invest some time in the gym and settle for whatever girls come your way. The rest was fated by your genetics and there's no point doing more work. In fact, more work is just "desperation". It's a copout from the TRP …

Asserting "this is the real red pill" won't invalidate the experiences countless men have had, where they improve their personality and status and are rewarded by dramatically increased female attention and attraction. Nor will it invalidate the common sense perspective that humans are complex beings and attraction probably depends on more than one factor. You say we think there's a magic formula for getting pussy... then in the same sentence claim it's as simple as physical attributes. You say …

Stop trying too hard. It's great that you know preselection is important, but this is the wrong way to go about it demonstrating it. Texting her that you just met a girl without any additional 'hook' makes it seem like it's an unusual event for you, and you're actually lacking options. The jealousy ploy ("looks like she's the cooler twin, right?") is also very obvious and shows you're still definitely trying to attract G. Men who genuinely have options and can pursue multiple women at once indic…

everyone needs to read the sidebar and you shouldn't condone otherwise That's right, which is why literally the first thing I said was "Yes, he should probably have read the sidebar". I was just telling Cons_Pi that "shut your mouth" is probably a bit of an overreaction to nickipoo21's error.

Pretty much every TRP reader will concede that looks make a difference. That's why we advocate lifting weights, cleaning yourself up, dressing sharper, etc. There are certainly guys who coast on their looks despite a horrid personality. However, there are also lots of ugly Chads and good-looking chumps. Shit, let's take it further - some guys have everything going for them (looks, career, status, etc.) but fail with women, while others look like hellspawn and spend all day smoking weed bought on…

Social acceptability isn't an end, but a means. If you value men's clubs, it's worth a little effort (essentially just communicating personal development you should be performing either way) to make them socially acceptable. This means: More men willing to engage in these clubs Less drama from disapproving onlookers More value on masculinity generally You should have a selfish interest in all those benefits, even if you hate the idea of appealing to social acceptability as an intrinsically good …

This is also relevant to responding to TRP, not just reading it. Posts don't appear out of the void. Behind each post is a man choosing (very deliberately) to share a part of himself with this community. He trusts us with his emotions and is willing to entertain feedback. That means you may be able to help him by: Diagnosing his stage - What can you deduce about his thought process from the content of the post and his subcommunications (language, etc.)? Diagnosing his needs - Does he just need a…

It's particularly important (both ethically and in the current PC climate) to establish noticeably healthy male organisations or bonds. For example, I lead an all-male team in a mixed-gender competitive activity, and try to have it represent the best possible form of masculinity. This means a combination of: "Old school" male culture" - emphasis on 'lad jokes', athleticism, confidence bordering on cockiness, etc. "Ethical" male culture" - respect for women, being mindful not to totally crush muc…

"I can't exactly just get another girl." "All I can do is wait and hope something happens, I guess." This is your scarcity mentality speaking. It's not objectively true. For example, there are almost certainly hot / nice / etc. chicks around without boyfriends - you're just not finding them because you don't approach. It's your attitude that needs fixing, not the world around you.

To answer the question: Don't tell him. It'll only hurt your relationships with Joseph and Hannah. To give further advice: You have become emotionally attached to Hannah seemingly without any genuine sexual chemistry or intimate moments. (No, some good conversation that one time does not count.) This is a sign of scarcity mentality, and it will keep getting you hurt. Settling down on one girl you "like" backfires horribly when that girl doesn't reciprocate your feelings, as you're finding out. Y…
