you could cross the street today, get hit by a double decker bus and die/become a paraplegic. what's your point?

No I get it. I was like that for a while and still am for certain things. I really recommend reading James Clear's book - Atomic Habits. It helped me a lot.

Thanks bro I'm really trying but it's tough. Always a voice in my head telling me I'm not good enough, which ironically has brought me to where I am which I (if I consider it "rationally" is pretty good). I guess I need to start fighting or at least non-judgementally observing that voice in my head.

I'm sorry that you're struggling with that. Do you want to make changes? If so I suggest starting small, like really small. Maybe one or five minutes of exercise per day in the beginning.

what if I've done a lot on paper but still don't feel good enough? I enjoy all my hobbies and whatnot and feel capable but every time I do something I always have a mental feeling of "that wasn't good enough here's what needs to be fixed" and never - I'm proud of you for doing that.

i totally agree with you 100% - thank you for the great reply.

tbh i have difficulty reframing things this way. For example, even if I feel attractive and confident, part of me says "oh - this girl will find me unattractive because I'm not her type (e.g. some white frat dude or whatever the type my minds invents is) and I shouldn't approach". So my mind comes up with some excuse. So instead, I try to be more outcome independent. I try my best to go into the interaction with the intention of self-amusement, and helping the other person have a good time. If I…

outcome independence the goal in every interaction should be self-amusement. nothing else.

meh, this feels a little reductionist. a lot of people still go out to have fun, not everything in human affairs is the solution to an optimization problem (despite what the economists might wish).

How do you not dismiss "successes" as "ah that's something I should be doing anyways"? How do you force yourself to draw a line?\

Do you have actionable exercises/techniques i could practice daily for this

Its a numbers game for all guys not just average ones. For some the odds are slightly better it worse.

yeah that or maybe he wants to sell me a course. I appreciate his openly posting at least (even if it is an avenue to get me to sign up for something paid). The general message is solid.

ok got it - thank you. Any techniques you know to truly internalize something like this? Like repeating it to yourself in the mirror?

ok, so the fundamental question (Chicken and egg type): how to have an abundance mindset in times you don't have *actual* abundance? How to get abundance when you don't have abundance so you can get abundance?

I've had great convos with people wearing headphones. Sometimes they just like listening to music (they're not wearing them to dissuade people from talking to them). Of course if they start putting their headphones back in as we are talking I'll slowly disengage.

Right now I'm a member of a weightlifting gym and compete (I'm not very good but I'm trying my best :D) I'm not sure where this is coming from though - you need to have a very good squat and pull to be a decent weightlifter. Lu Xiaojun can probably break all the (unequipped) IPF squat records in his class (ofc he's not your average weightlifter). Do you train in a commercial gym? Most weightlifters around me are serious and as a result pretty strong.

social hobbies just haven't worked for me honestly. Most likely I'm not taking enough initiative. Also I think cold approach doesn't need to be approached in a 0-100 way.

Having female friends is the key. Going out with lots of guys has consistently been a disaster for me.

I just don't think I'm cool enough, or that I do enough. I see people on instagram going out to nice ass restaurants or partying every weekend, wearing sick clothes, and just overall being """cool""" (air quotes adde for a reason). And while I've definitely been trying to do more things like that, it just feels tough, and I always feel like I'm behind in some way or another.

This sort of advice will leave you a virgin forever unless you're super attractive. I've never ever had girls "communicate" with their eyes. If you don't take initiative and actually approach yourself you're doing yourself a disservice.
