1/ If it’s amicable skip the lawyer and just drive towards splitting assets. If it’s not then get one to assist 2/ don’t move from the house 3/ don’t start dating until finalized 4/ read books, play music, go to gym to keep your mind growing 5/ don’t tell your dirt to family and friends. This is between you guys 6/ accept that many ppl will drop you and you’ll not see it coming

This is sound advice. I filed in mine and took me abit to about face my decisioning mental and emotional. It’s work as it’s such a painful process to file etc. OP needs to watch his 6 and be clinical vs emotional as she’ll be clinical even if saying the right words

Yea worry. Introduce weekly check ins where you talk about the good, bad, and where you are going as a couple. It’s an honest convo time and hopefully diffuses fighting. I picked Thurs w my wife so weekends are there for fun. She’s cleaning up to drop a bomb as it’s my experience most women don’t care about $ or politics until their safety is concerned and then they care.

My kids are adults so yes there’s kids but understand challenges happen. They mostly rolled w the decisions and kept out of the way as it wasn’t really their conversation. Her family wasn’t really an issue until the divorce papers were filled then they jumped in when separated and said some stuff that upset us both at different times for different reasons. When reconciling I simply asked her to not tell them about me personally and keep the details on us high level as I was offended / hurt they …

My bro. Don’t just don’t. I filed but pulled it after abit. She listened to me, I listened to her, we both changed as best we could. Her family talked crap about me and she’s post reconciliation has distanced herself abit which to me meant stop telling them about my life she can discuss us at a high level or her life but not mine and I’m ok with this. In your case I’d not. That’s a bunch to work through and getting back is hard enough without all that other drama you listed.

It’s her choice to liquidate or not those assets. They may also go up or down which is why the qrdo as well as home valuations need to be agreed to and a date. But if she sells things she’s on hook for taxes as that’s her decision as the asset holder. You’ll never get away from her or her you if she’s trying for a floating point and compensation

Ride on right on by phosphorescent oddly turned into one of my most listened to songs in 2023. I dig metal and hard core punk mostly but when I was dating many women this one just kept in the loop. Standed by gojira - look up the meaning of the lyrics… it’s got a killer intro as well

Your commentary cinna41 isn’t appreciated nor wanted in this group IMO. This is a group for divorcing men. Feel free to drift on over to a different group and comment all you wish

Yes. I weekly if not daily say vocally I live in a world of abundance. OP give it a shot. Hurts when you lose ppl as this happened to me recently but bro they saved you getting screwed financially. I imagine she’s feeling same as you for probably similar reasons when I sorta read between the lines

Yup. Don’t marry a dependa my guy and stick up for yourself. No reason to yell or apologize just be calm and say your piece and what you want. She’ll come w or you move on.

I filed and didn’t feel this but I also wasn’t trying to rationalize others opinions I guess. I don’t / didn’t care so didn’t see it.

This sounds like some red pill stuff my friend and while I understand your gyst it’s dehumanizing. Luck in life but I feel you are a bit biased.

No. Could be you are looking for it and therefore finding it.

I feel you’re measuring the meaning of life and relationships in a sorta meaningless way. I was in a dead bedroom for a long time and did whore about often for about 6 months and didn’t enjoy it very much after all. I can proudly say I was dating 4-6 women at the same time actively and they were a blend of mentally attractive or physically only and I didn’t enjoy it much in the end. Can I? Yes I proved it. Was it wholesome? Not in the least. Could I have had other kids which seemed a thing of yo…

It’s hard because you cared more for her than yourself perhaps. Now you’re introspective and sorting it. You’re not a failure

As soon as a man stops treating women like they’re “precious” and sets expectations his life hands down improves. Fact!

I didn’t read the above posts so maybe this was stated. Read dating advice for men by Robert Glover. While I was in whore mode I was dating 4 at once and rotated through them…. Not recommended in hindsight. And just talk to everyone. Even if not interested or incorrect gender. Practice practice practice

Why can’t you find anyone as physically attractive? And honestly that’s a BS bar IMO. That’s like saying she’s only into you for your great amazing wealth. Find a reasonably attractive but amazing girl…don’t be shallow Looking back at what was or maybe is normal. But try to not dwell on it. And holy F I’m an atheist and would run from some chick that tried to force faith. How narrow minded of her. You aren’t compatible. Sorry. Accept it and be happy you’re free

That’s hard / harsh. Calculating AF. Sorry this happened

Agreed and only you’ll know. So here’s the deal-io imo. I filed for my reasons with my wife. I took her back for my reasons. We have worked on things a lot since then. But she didn’t make my life hell during divorce but was simply stuck IMO on how she was tackling life. Only you’ll know if you should but you should consider things like: Your pride. Do you want her back for that reason? Trama bonding. Shared poison / pain? Friction is sexy? Are you addicted to the friction? She’s got your $? His …

Sounds like the “or else” convo has happened. I’d talk to my wife and did for years and finally said this isn’t working for me and 2 months later filed. Kinda broke her and after 8 months we started talking and are back together. Lots of check ins etc now and awareness of bad habits. I’m also really quick to call BS where before I was somewhat affable on things as I know life’s stressful and I’m not perfect. Just pull that trigger then and live your life. It’s going to prob cost you money but yo…

I had similar. I filed and ended up pulling the papers. Might simply be blunt w her and not file. Don’t have the convo unless you’re ready to move forward

Took me abit to realize happy wife happy life is a load of crap. Respected wife and respect for me is a winning combo.

It’s not always about you and your problems. When he mentions something he’s working through shoot for empathy and understanding vs turning that into an issue for you. He’s working through stuff and just sharing

I dodged a bullet recently. Wtf was I thinking lol. My friends that are women were like what the literal f are you thinking. :) but I got out from that one

I can only look at my own relationship for awareness. Long and short was I needed to have an adult or else continued discussion / topic closure and say what I wanted. If you’re affable that’s something you can control. Read the dead bedroom fix by dso for inspiration. The convo help may come from no more mr nice guy. In my case I thought I had done all the above and then filed…pulled those papers after abit and it’s all good but I could have said more up front. Post pulling papers she knows I’m …

Try to repair. Filing and pulling papers is a pita and leaves some relationship debt.

True true. But if we agree it’s possible she is why wait around to find out? Isn’t it easier to assume this and simply move on and not try to prove your assumption wrong? I mean assuming 70% or higher of divorces are started by women why, as a guy, try to keep her in high regard? She’s done for a reason
