I understand all that (except that I'm fairly certain the chances of being raped in UK prisons is very small). Have you thought about what it would mean to be raped?

109 convictions of false accusations in 5 years is astoundingly smaller than the amount of women that have been raped or assaulted and did not get justice for it. in the UK, 1 women is killed every 3 days, most of them by their partner. and only 1.6% of rape charges result in a conviction. You're absolutely correct, those are (approximately) the statistics. It's just that that's not the issue in this sub-thread, which is about the restricted question of whether the analogy of 'false accusation o…

There's an awful lot of rubbish talked about false rape allegations, you're right. But nevertheless there are significant numbers of them - 109 convictions for false rape allegations in five years (presumably in the UK) as opposed to zero convictions for falsee allegations of robbing a bank. There are, of course, cases in which the accusation is complete fiction - a redditor ITT said he could prove he was many miles away - but it's worth noting that the majority of allegations that don't result in convictions or not even in charges do not involve 'false' allegations, but rather lack of evidence.

Such monetary remedies are worthless, 80% of the time, because the person in question has no money.

I'd argue that getting convicted of a rape you didn't commit is even worse than getting raped. Which means I'd argue that you are male. No woman could ever make that particular stupid statement.

Why aren’t you guys overly concerned about being framed for murder, Robery or drug trafficking? Well, because the likelihood of that happening is pretty small; plus, it's not really a 'thing'. If you are a career criminal, you might get framed for a serious crime, but if you are Mr Apple Pie you almost certainly won't be. Mr Apple Pie types have, however, been falsely accused of rape. I want to say that I don't disagree with your general point, just that this is not a good illustration.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
